A Level-C wanted notice!

When Fang Mu looked at the screen, the first thing he saw was the text displayed there. Beneath the name was a rotating three-dimensional projection: Chen Ting, the very man he had seen in the battlefield hospital that day.

Wanted? Why?

Fang Mu was somewhat startled. Frowning, he read the words above.

“Chen Ting, male, native of Fuxing Town, Tianyao City. Identity number: 988467398404081264. Height: 1.87 meters. Weight: 1,300 kilograms. Long face…”

“Evolver, Mad Blade class. Evolution rank: high gold tier. Wanted reward: 50,000,000 star coins.”

“At 8:36 p.m. on August 13, 4082, this individual murdered twelve people, including Chen, Qian, and Zhang, in Moonlight Villa District. His methods were vicious and his cruelty extreme. He fled after the killings.”

“This man is a high-gold evolver and poses an extremely high level of danger. If you have any leads, please call the number shown on the screen. Upon confirmation, a bounty will be issued — Battlefield City Law Enforcement Corps, Tianyao.”

The wording was simple, yet it carried a chilling air of killing intent.

He had actually killed people in Battlefield City?

Fang Mu was stunned.

Then he shook his head.

Battlefield City was the only place in the entire one-star battlefield where law still existed.

Law such a thing... although in this age of universal evolution, where everyone possessed formidable strength, it was inevitable that it would be broken from time to time. But those capable of breaking it...

Certainly did not include a mere gold-tier evolver.

“Once you’re wanted, your life is basically over.”

That was Fang Mu’s thought.

The people nearby were still discussing in low voices.

“I knew Greedy Wolf was finished long ago, but I didn’t expect it to collapse this fast... Chen Ting, as a gold evolver, was actually forced to take such risks in Battlefield City. It looks like he was already cornered. I heard that when Chen Ting was put on the wanted list, one of Greedy Wolf’s vice-captains also announced the disbandment of Greedy Wolf...”

“Who could have imagined it? Heavenly Palace always looked so mild-mannered and detached from worldly strife, but once it struck back, its power was actually this terrifying?”

“It’s not really that Heavenly Palace is terrifying. The main issue is Greedy Wolf... they offended too many people. Before, with no one backing them, nobody dared to provoke them. But now that Heavenly Palace has taken the lead, all those old grudges and hatreds naturally came rushing back at once... I heard that last time Greedy Wolf gathered a huge crowd to go head-to-head with Heavenly Palace, but before Heavenly Palace even made a move, some bystanders who’d been lying in ambush somewhere already attacked. In the end, Greedy Wolf suffered heavy losses and never recovered.”

“I heard about that. Apparently after that battle, many of the surviving former members and core figures of Greedy Wolf chose to leave the one-star battlefield.”

“Maybe they went to another one-star battlefield? They’ve completely lost all footing in Tianyao City’s one-star battlefield.”

“Do you think Chen Ting might have left the battlefield too? Gotten out?”

“Leaving wouldn’t help. This kind of wanted notice is global. Where could he run to? If he’s found anywhere, it’s a dead end. He can’t set foot anywhere under human civilization anymore. I think he probably hid inside the battlefield.”

“Hid inside the battlefield? Tsk. Then he’d have to hide for the rest of his life, and he still couldn’t let anyone see him...”

“If it were me, I’d rather surrender. As a gold-tier evolver, if he turned himself in, there’d still be a chance. Worst case, he’d be sent to serve in the military... If he earned military merit, there might still be a way out.”

“We don’t have any battlefield at home. If he really went into the military through criminal punishment, he’d probably be sent to an interstellar battlefield... Gold tier is very strong for us, but on an interstellar battlefield, it wouldn’t even count as cannon fodder, right? Still a dead end.”

“That’s true...”

Several passengers continued to talk at once.

Listening to them, Fang Mu more or less understood what had happened during the past month.

So a huge organization like Greedy Wolf had fallen just like that?

In his mind appeared that figure from that day, short-haired, with a teardrop mole. Fang Mu also remembered clearly the conversation Chen Ting had had with her then.

She did not seem particularly fierce, yet her methods were clearly formidable. In just one month, she had forced Greedy Wolf into this state... even putting Chen Ting on the wanted list...

Fang Mu shook his head.

His judgment was roughly the same as that of the people chatting nearby: Chen Ting had probably gone into the battlefield...

The battlefield was vast, with great open spaces and sparse population. Most importantly, the one-star battlefield lacked much in the way of human technology, so finding a gold-tier Mad Blade there would actually be very difficult.

But from this day forward, he would no longer be able to appear within the bounds of human civilization.

Once discovered, it would be a dead end.

Once you were wanted, it lasted for life.

Unless it was confirmed that you were dead, the record would never be removed.

With technology this advanced, nothing within human civilization could be done without identity verification. From now on, he would either have to live like a beast outside the reach of human civilization... or there would be only one road left: surrender.

Of course, if he possessed enough power to break through the layers of blockade around Feiluo Star, reach the starry expanse, and join some pirate or independent organization... that would be another matter entirely.

Unfortunately, that clearly was not something a gold-tier evolver could do.

After thinking it over, Fang Mu shook his head.

Well, it had nothing to do with him anyway.

What he had done before, aside from a little knowledge on Lin Chuyin’s part, was known to no one else. So... why bother thinking so much?

He merely glanced at it casually and paid it no further mind.

Soon, the vehicle reached its stop. He got off and went straight back to his rented room.

After a comfortable hot shower and changing into something more relaxed, Fang Mu poured himself a cup of hot tea, half reclined in his chair, and opened his light-brain.

After some thought, Fang Mu began searching for a few things.

Right now, he needed to deal with the corpse of the serrated hyenas in his possession...

After looking for a while, he let out a long breath.

“As I suspected... compared with last time, many black-market dealers from the one-star battlefield have disappeared. Most likely they were under Greedy Wolf’s banner.”

To dispose of such a huge number of serrated hyena corpses, he naturally had to go through black-market dealers.

Last time, Fang Mu had found a one-star battlefield forum, and that forum had been the place where black-market dealers on the one-star battlefield kept in touch.

But after checking it this time, he discovered that much of the information on those dealers had already vanished.

Without a doubt, those black-market dealers had probably belonged to Greedy Wolf. Now that Greedy Wolf had collapsed, their business could no longer continue.

This showed that his caution last time had paid off.

Fang Mu let out a slight sigh of relief, then began to think about what he should do next.

More than four hundred serrated hyena corpses still needed to be handled, and he had to remove himself from the matter as thoroughly as possible... It was no small task.

Yet as his mind gradually turned, Fang Mu slowly began to see a path forward...
