Chapter 101: A Money-Printing Ability to Earn Wealth
Page (1/3)
In less than three minutes, Fang Mu had killed forty Sawtooth Hyenas. Such a rate of slaughter was nothing short of terrifying.
Forty-eight Sawtooth Hyenas, at a price of one hundred and fifty thousand each—that came to seven million two hundred thousand.
Three minutes. Seven million two hundred thousand...
To be perfectly honest, even printing money was not that fast!
And as things stood, Fang Mu might very well be the only person on the entire One-Star Battlefield capable of earning money at such a speed.
There was only one reason: he possessed a Spatial Armament.
Only a Spatial Armament could swiftly and efficiently pack away and carry off these hulking creatures, each more than two meters long and weighing between one and two tons. Otherwise, even a Golden-Rank Evolver would be helpless.
It was true that Golden-Rank Evolvers could kill Sawtooth Hyenas far faster than Fang Mu. But what good did that do?
At most, they could bring back one carcass at a time.
A single round trip would take at least four or five days.
How long would it take merely to sell all forty-eight Sawtooth Hyenas?
Unless a Golden-Rank Evolver organized a large force and brought hundreds or even thousands of people here—with the Golden-Rank Evolver handling the killing while everyone else cleaned up the battlefield and transported the prey...
Only then could they hope to rival Fang Mu’s earning speed.
And even then, Fang Mu might not lose!
Did organizing people cost nothing? Would they work for free? The more people there were, the greater the price that had to be paid.
Fang Mu, on the other hand, kept everything he killed.
He did not have to share a single coin with anyone.
This alone revealed the value of a Spatial Armament.
Even among Origin-Energy Armaments, Spatial Armaments ranked among the very best.
After looking around and finding no one nearby, Fang Mu dashed down and began swiftly collecting his spoils.
He knew perfectly well that this carried risks. Had he not been seen the last time he advanced?
But what else could he do?
It would be absurd to possess a Spatial Armament and not use it.
All he could do was move as quickly as possible and reduce the chance of being discovered.
Fortunately, he had prepared for this. His current outfit revealed only a pair of eyes. Even if someone saw him, neither his face nor his identity would be exposed.
A two-ton Sawtooth Hyena was nothing before Fang Mu’s current strength. He placed them into his Spatial Armament one after another with ease, moving at astonishing speed.
However, when he looked at the carcasses, Fang Mu felt that selling them for one hundred and fifty thousand each might prove difficult this time.
The flames had burned the Sawtooth Hyenas far too badly. Almost all their fur had been scorched away, leaving them blackened and charred. Their appearance was truly poor.
Fang Mu sighed. This was the downside of not possessing Armor-Piercing.
As the foremost hunting and killing gun art of the early stages, Armor-Piercing had earned its reputation for a reason.
Fortunately, these Sawtooth Hyenas were fairly large. If he had encountered smaller battlefield creatures, a single burst of flame would have reduced them directly to charcoal.
Unfortunately, Armor-Piercing was practically monopolized by the major military groups, and only a tiny amount ever reached the market.
As for the price, there was no need to discuss it. With Fang Mu’s current earning ability, he could afford it no matter how expensive it was.
The real problem was that he had no idea when it would appear...
That gave him a headache.
He had considered using Lin Chuyin’s connections to search for it through the Immortal Palace. Given the Immortal Palace’s strength, finding Armor-Piercing should have been relatively simple.
But Fang Mu truly could not bring himself to ask.
Although his relationship with Lin Chuyin had eased somewhat after their previous encounter, she had invited him to join the Immortal Palace, and he had flatly refused. How could he now shamelessly ask her to help him?
Fang Mu could not say the words.
It was not as though he would definitely fail to find it.
It would merely take a little more time.
Soon, more than forty Sawtooth Hyenas had been stored inside his Spatial Armament. The entire process took no more than five minutes. Fang Mu turned to survey his surroundings once more, and after confirming that no one had noticed him, he let out a quiet breath.
He decided to eat something and rest for a while before continuing.
There were only so many Sawtooth Hyenas within a two-kilometer radius, and he had killed nearly all of them. From here onward, he would have to move closer to the main pack.
There were more than ten thousand Sawtooth Hyenas over there. No matter how confident Fang Mu was, he did not dare disturb so many at once.
Facing more than sixty at a time would already put him under some pressure. Seventy would be extremely difficult. Eighty would bring him close to his limit. Once the number exceeded ninety...
He feared that the hunger would drive him berserk.
In the wilderness, losing his reason under such circumstances would make life and death impossible to predict.
Most likely, he would die.
Although he had experienced death and resurrection once before, no matter how he looked at it, if these Sawtooth Hyenas killed him, then even if his cultivation art truly possessed the heaven-defying ability to bring him back to life...
He probably would not have the chance to resurrect.
If they tore him into pieces and ate him, how could he possibly come back to life?
After looking around, Fang Mu decided to have lunch first, then continue.

...
Fang Mu ran six or seven kilometers in one breath, putting considerable distance between himself and the Sawtooth Hyenas. He reached the desolate wilderness of the battlefield, gathered some firewood along the way, and finally stopped at a raised piece of ground.
With a casual wave of his hand, an iron stove appeared on the ground.
He then took out the Dragon-Patterned Saber, retrieved a Sawtooth Hyena carcass, and cut away a large piece of thigh meat.
If anyone had seen him, they would have been stunned speechless before cursing him as a wasteful idiot.
That was the Dragon-Patterned Saber!
One of them cost more than thirty million!
It was the exclusive weapon of a Golden-Rank Berserker!
And he was using it as a kitchen knife?!
Even a Golden-Rank Evolver would never use it that way!
Outside of battle, who did not polish their blade until it gleamed? Who would not feel uncomfortable at the slightest smear of mud?
And yet, in Fang Mu’s hands, it really was nothing more than a meat cleaver.
Yes, Fang Mu had not sold the Dragon-Patterned Saber, nor did he intend to sell it in the future. Given his current ability to earn money, there was no need. Why take the risk?
Although the Greedy Wolf Legion had now dispersed, Chen Ting had still not been found. Who knew whether they had other forces hidden in the shadows?
Safety came first. He might as well keep the saber for his own use.
Besides, the Dragon-Patterned Saber, forged from C-series alloy, was truly sharp.
Even bones as thick as a wrist could be chopped through with a single stroke...
It was just slightly too long.
After all, the weapon was a full one hundred and sixty-seven centimeters long.
Not exactly easy to handle.
Fang Mu smacked his lips. Once he had cut off the meat, he stored the Dragon-Patterned Saber away.
Today, Fang Mu planned to make stewed dog meat.
After cutting off the meat, he took a large iron basin from his Spatial Armament, filled it with bottled water, and began washing it.
Once it was clean, he brought out a cutting board and an ordinary kitchen knife, then sliced the Sawtooth Hyena meat into small chunks.
He also took two white radishes from his Spatial Armament, cut them into pieces, and finished his preparations.
Then he casually drew his pistol and fired a single shot of Flame at its lowest frequency into the ground, igniting the firewood he had gathered earlier. He placed the burning wood inside the iron stove, added a few more logs, and set an iron pot over it.
He heated the pot, added oil, then tossed in star anise, ginger, cinnamon, and other spices. Once the fragrance rose, he added the meat. After the pieces had heated evenly, he added an appropriate amount of salt, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, dried chili peppers, and Sichuan peppercorns, then stir-fried everything once more.
Next, he poured in the chunks of white radish and stir-fried them together with the meat. After the aroma burst forth, he added water until it just barely covered the meat. Once the water boiled, he transferred everything to a pressure cooker and placed it over the flames.
A clay pot would have produced better flavor, but Fang Mu was hungry now. Cooking in a clay pot would have required simmering over low heat for roughly an hour before the meat became tender.
The pressure cooker was much faster.
Fifteen minutes later, Fang Mu removed the pressure cooker. After the steam had dissipated, he opened the lid.
At once, a pot of golden dog meat came into view. The broth was thick, and the aroma rich.
Fang Mu had long since been unable to wait. He brought out a spoon, bowl, and chopsticks, filled a large bowl, and began eating while blowing gently on the steaming meat.
The taste was incredible!
As the saying went, after dog meat had boiled three times, even an immortal could not remain seated!
The Sawtooth Hyena meat had an even richer aroma. Each bite was fragrant, tender, and soft enough to melt in the mouth.
Fang Mu narrowed his eyes, his expression one of pure enjoyment.
Before this, he had eaten either roasted meat or raw meat on the battlefield. This time, in Battlefield City, Fang Mu had directly bought a complete set of cooking utensils and seasonings. He had even deliberately purchased several cookbooks and studied them, ensuring that he could still eat well while on the battlefield.
With a Spatial Armament, one could afford to be this willful!
...
After finishing the pot of dog meat, a rich surge of gene-origin energy welled up inside him. Nearly all the energy he had expended earlier was restored.
The recovery ability of the Origin-Energy Soul-Refining Record was simply unreasonable!
Fang Mu patted his stomach, his expression completely satisfied.
He casually took out a can of soda, found a spot, and rested while drinking.
After another half hour or so, Fang Mu had recovered sufficiently and stood up. He used bottled water to wash the bowls, chopsticks, and other utensils, then stored them inside his Spatial Armament.
He had eaten and drunk his fill. It was time to stretch his legs.
Fang Mu headed toward the pack of Sawtooth Hyenas at a leisurely walking pace.

As Fang Mu was about to begin his hunt once more, several people were gathered in the vast wilderness behind the pack of Sawtooth Hyenas on the Thousand-Gloom Wilderness.
There were only about a dozen of them. Most wore black trench coats, their expressions solemn.
At the head stood a Heavyblade. He was tall and powerfully built, more than two meters in height and shaped like a small mountain. A heavy blade was strapped across his back.
His features were as cold and hard as rock, his gaze fierce, and a bandit’s aura seemed to cling to him naturally.
Had Fang Mu been there, he would certainly have recognized him. He was the Golden-Rank Heavyblade who had once led the assault against Lin Chuyin—Zhou Potian.
Zhou Potian’s expression was not pleasant at present. His gaze was dark and cold. Like those around him, he wore a trench coat, but his muscular build made the garment look more like a skin-tight uniform.
No one knew how much time had passed before footsteps sounded. Zhou Potian looked up as several figures emerged from the desolate forest nearby.
Zhou Potian and the people behind him hurriedly bowed in greeting.
“Commander.”
At the head was a thin figure. As he wiped the blood from his hands, he smiled and nodded.
Had Fang Mu been there, he would certainly have recognized him as well.
It was Chen Ting, the commander of the Greedy Wolf Legion—the man who had once confronted the Immortal Palace’s people in the corridor of the battlefield hospital and had been wanted by the battlefield more than a month earlier.
Chen Ting had gone on a killing spree in Battlefield City, and a warrant had consequently been issued for his arrest, along with a bounty. Everyone had guessed that he had most likely fled into the battlefield. From then on, his life should have resembled that of a wild beast roaming the wilderness—living like neither man nor ghost, battered and wretched.
Yet judging from the scene before them, things had not unfolded as everyone expected.
Although he had indeed hidden himself in the wilderness, at least on the surface, he was certainly not living a miserable life.
Just as he had been at the hospital that day, he remained refined and courteous. His smile was calm, and he possessed an air of distinction.
It was as though the battlefield’s warrant and bounty had not affected him in the slightest.
“Potian.”
He spoke with a smile.
Zhou Potian’s entire body tensed. He quickly bowed respectfully.
“Commander.”
“You did well this time. You have my thanks for your hard work,” Chen Ting said with a smile.
Zhou Potian’s eyes brightened, and he hurriedly replied, “You flatter me. It was only what I should have done.”
Chen Ting looked at him, then smiled and sighed. “I have made things difficult for you. Even after I became wanted, you still refused to abandon me.”
Zhou Potian’s expression grew solemn. He said earnestly, “Commander, if it weren’t for you, where would I, Zhou Potian, be today? I have not read many books and do not understand any grand principles. But you have always treated me well, so I must treat you well in return. Otherwise, how would I be any different from a beast?”
Chen Ting looked at him, then smiled and shook his head.
“All right, you can stop declaring your loyalty. I know you are loyal. Rest assured—the things I promised you before still stand.”
Zhou Potian’s eyes brightened again. He scratched his head with an honest grin.
“Heh heh...”
Chen Ting smiled and patted his broad shoulder before saying, “All right. Continue. You remember your mission, yes?”
“I remember!”
Zhou Potian answered at once. The people behind him also responded respectfully.
Chen Ting nodded and smiled.
“Go.”
Zhou Potian and the others accepted the order, turned around, and quickly departed.
Only Chen Ting and the people behind him remained.
At that moment, a figure in a black trench coat walked behind Chen Ting. His face was hidden beneath his hood, concealing his expression. Only a distant, hoarse voice could be heard.
“You intend to continue?”
A slight change crossed Chen Ting’s expression before he smiled.
“The game has only just begun. Why wouldn’t I?”
“Your identity has already been exposed as wanted. You can no longer use it. You know what you are doing. If you are captured, you also know what will happen, don’t you?” the distant, hoarse voice asked indifferently.
“Why would I be captured?”
Chen Ting turned his head and glanced at him before speaking calmly.
“I was indeed careless this time. That woman from the Lin family truly is extraordinary. I did not expect her to resort so decisively to methods beyond the rules, and I suffered a minor setback because of it. But...”
He paused briefly, then gave a derisive laugh.
“Wasn’t that also one of our objectives? As long as I remain here, the Lin family will stay trapped in the mire, and that nail will be driven deeper. If I leave, won’t all our previous actions become meaningless?”
“As long as the objective is achieved, that is enough. The process... does not matter.”
He spoke in a flat tone.
The distant, hoarse voice fell silent. After a moment, it said calmly, “Very well. As long as you are confident. But I will make one thing clear in advance: when the situation truly becomes impossible to salvage, you will receive no assistance whatsoever.”
A faint glimmer passed through Chen Ting’s eyes, and he smiled.
“I know.”
The distant voice said no more. It seemed to cast a deep look at Chen Ting’s back before turning and returning to the group.
Chen Ting remained where he was, gazing toward Battlefield City. Light flickered in his eyes, and no one knew what he was thinking...
