After speaking, Zhou Yu took off his shirt.

At that moment, Liu Hu brought out the white liquor, and Zhou Yu opened the box. Inside, six bottles of small Wuliangye were neatly arranged. Zhou Yu said, “Don’t just stand around. Open all the bottle mouths, make sure they’re wide open.”

Pan Yuxin had an inkling of what Zhou Yu was planning and said nothing. She picked up a dagger and sliced one of the bottle mouths. With a crisp ‘pop,’ the mouth fell off. Liu Long and the others were not idle either, each taking a bottle. In just two or three seconds, all the bottles were opened.

Zhou Yu tore his shirt to shreds. He stuffed the ruined shirt bit by bit into the mouths of the bottles, then turned each bottle upside down, letting the liquor soak the cloth strips.

Once finished, Zhou Yu climbed back up onto the wall. Looking at the dense horde of zombies inside, he thought, they were probably drawn out by the last gunshot. But this was even better—no need to hunt them down one by one later.

Zhou Yu shouted, “Haozi, come up. Xiao Long, Xiao Hu, you two as well. But before you climb up, hand me the stuff.”

Wang Hao was the first to jump up. Liu Long and Liu Hu handed the bottles to Zhou Yu, then followed him.

After everyone was up, Zhou Yu said, “Xiao Long, Xiao Hu, each of you take two bottles and go to either side. When I yell ‘ignite,’ set them alight and throw them into the zombie crowd. Haozi, if any bottles don’t smash, shoot them to burst them open.”

Zhou Yu looked at Wang Hao, pulled out a pistol, chambered a round, and said, “Ignite.”

He didn’t care whether Liu Long and Liu Hu heard him or not. Once his own bottle was lit, he hurled it into the zombie horde.

With a ‘bang,’ the bottle shattered. Flames met the liquor and instantly ignited. Every zombie near where the bottle fell was engulfed in fire.

Immediately, more ‘bangs’ followed in quick succession, mingled with the wails of burning zombies.

After all the bottles were thrown, Zhou Yu and the others jumped down.

Zhou Yu walked to Nian Yu’s side, stroked her head, and said, “Darling, now you know why I wanted the liquor, don’t you?”

Nian Yu asked, “But you never studied chemistry. How did you know about this?”

Zhou Yu replied, “Come on, do you really think your husband is that dumb? This is just one of those little-known facts.”

Nian Yu grumbled, “Little-known fact? If it’s so common, how come I didn’t know?”

Zhou Yu chuckled, “If you did, you wouldn’t be a good student.”

Nian Yu gave a couple of snorts but said nothing.

Zhou Yu said, “I’m starving. Time to eat. You guys fix some food.”

Upon hearing Zhou Yu’s words, the middle-aged woman headed to the car for rice and a pot.

Xiao Jie brought out some vacuum-packed cooked food.

Zhao Yan went off to gather a few stones and some rotten wood. He took another bottle of liquor, tore off another strip from Zhou Yu’s ruined shirt, soaked it with liquor, and prepared it as a fire starter.

Zhou Yu said, “When we eat, you can have a little liquor, but don’t let it interfere with this afternoon’s tasks.”

Liu Long asked, “Are we doing the same as before?”

Zhou Yu replied, “Let’s see how many zombies are left after lunch.”

“Alright,” said Zhou Yu.

After the meal, Liu Long called Zhou Yu aside. He asked, “Xiao Yu, what’s going on? This isn’t like you. You’re being a bit too gentle.”

Zhou Yu answered, “I’ve always been gentle. Why else would they call me the Scholar?”

Liu Long snorted, “Scholar, my foot. You’re just a refined scoundrel. Scholar, really. What’s the truth?”

Zhou Yu said, “You’re asking me? Didn’t you notice yourself? You look at Yang Ting with such tenderness in your eyes.”
