Chapter Fifty-Nine
Zhou Yu led the group all the way to the outskirts, mowing down most of the zombies on the road with his modified vehicle. When they arrived at the place where the War God and his companions once lived, Zhou Yu brought the car to a halt.
He got out and shouted at the people inside, “Open the damn door! You pervert, haven’t you spied enough?”
Everyone else also got out of the car, a bit confused by Zhou Yu’s words. Who was he calling a pervert?
Just then, Wang Kui suddenly cried out, “Watch out, take cover! There’s a sniper!”
Nian Yu added, “On the rooftop.”
But Zhou Yu waved them off, saying, “Relax, they're all friends.”
No sooner had he spoken than a loud bang rang out, and Zhou Yu was sent flying.
Cursing, Zhou Yu got up and yelled, “Damn it, who the hell dared to kick me?”
He turned and saw who it was. “Damn you, you stupid ape, how dare you kick me!”
A tall young man grinned and said, “Xiao Yu, don’t blame me. My senior told me to do it.”
A burly young man stepped forward from behind, a woman in his arms. He laughed and said, “Xiao Yu, what happened? Looks like you’ve gotten rusty—you can’t even take on Xiao Hu anymore.”
“Get lost,” Zhou Yu retorted. “I was unarmed—of course I couldn’t beat that freak Xiao Hu. If you don’t believe me, come try me yourself!”
Suddenly, a small figure darted out and threw her arms around Zhou Yu’s waist. “Brother Xiao Yu, thank goodness, you’re still alive!”
Zhou Yu patted the little girl’s head. “Alright, Xinxin, let go for now. We’ll talk later—there are too many people here.”
Reluctantly, the girl released him. But as soon as she did, Zhou Yu’s ear was yanked by someone.
A voice scolded, “Damn Zhou Yu, explain yourself—what’s with this underage girl?”
Nian Yu hadn’t finished speaking when she suddenly felt something icy cold against her neck.
The little girl said coldly, “Let go, or I won’t hesitate to kill you.”
Seeing the murderous intent in the girl’s eyes, Zhou Yu quickly said, “Xinxin, put the dagger down.”
She looked at Zhou Yu, confused, but obediently dropped the knife.
Then Zhou Yu said to Nian Yu, “Honey, let go. We’ll talk later.”
Nian Yu pouted but released her grip.
Zhou Yu then walked to the RV, took out his gun, and strode over to the burly man. But instead of addressing him, he spoke to the woman in his arms. “Mind if I borrow him for a bit?”
The woman frowned at Zhou Yu, then glanced at the burly man. He whispered something in her ear, and her eyes lit up as she nodded silently.
Zhou Yu turned to the burly man. “Xiao Long, don’t say I’m bullying you. Today I’ll fight you with this gun—is that fair?”
The man replied, “You’re sure you want to use a gun instead of a blade?”
“I’m sure,” Zhou Yu answered. “But let’s have everyone else go inside first. There are supplies inside.”
The burly man nodded and said to the tall young man, “Xiao Hu, take everyone inside.”
Zhou Yu also called out, “Nian Yu, you all go in and wait for me. Once I’ve dealt with this brat, I’ll join you.”
Nian Yu wanted to say something, but Xiao Jie pulled her into the vehicle. “Don’t ask yet. They won’t get into trouble. Besides, I have a feeling that little girl might be the Enchantress Lolita.”
“But I heard Zhou Yu call her ‘Xinxin,’” Nian Yu said.
“Don’t worry,” Xiao Jie replied. “He’ll explain everything soon.”
