Zhou Yu was taken aback and called out to Nian Yu, “Darling, where are you going? Give me my clothes!”

Nian Yu froze for a moment at Zhou Yu’s words, suddenly realizing that when Zhou Yu said he was cold, he was asking for his clothes, not for something more intimate.

Embarrassed, Nian Yu stammered, “Oh, um, you said you were cold, right? I’ll go get you a blanket from the inner room.”

Seeing Nian Yu’s flushed cheeks, Zhou Yu understood she had misunderstood him. He said nothing more, simply walked over, took the clothes from her, and put them on. In a low voice, he whispered, “Darling, wait for tonight. I’ll make sure you’re well satisfied.”

On hearing this, Nian Yu glanced around to make sure no one was listening, then said softly to Zhou Yu, “Then I’ll be waiting for you tonight.”

Zhou Yu was secretly delighted. He thought, it had been quite a while since Nian Yu had acted like this. Feeling a surge of excitement, Zhou Yu couldn’t help himself—he embraced Nian Yu and planted a kiss on her.

Now Nian Yu’s face was entirely crimson. She spat, “You scoundrel, how dare you… in broad daylight… you… you… you’re going to be the death of me!” With that, she turned and retreated to the inner room, refusing to come out.

Zhou Yu chuckled to himself. Turning to Wang Kui, he said, “Woodenhead, I heard you’ve gotten a special ability. Show me.”

Wang Kui replied, “My ability isn’t much use—it’s just invisibility.”

Zhou Yu was startled, exclaiming, “No way, invisibility is useless? You must be kidding me! With that, you could spy on any girl you wanted—”

Catching himself, Zhou Yu quickly changed his tone, “I mean, you could ambush any zombie you wanted, right?”

Wang Kui hesitated and explained, “Not really. My invisibility only works when I stay still; if I move, I become visible again. Like this.”

As he finished speaking, Wang Kui vanished, only to reappear a short distance from where he had been standing.

A bit disappointed, Zhou Yu covered his eyes and grumbled, “You call that invisibility? That’s just advanced hiding—camouflage. You blockhead, you got my hopes up for nothing.”

But then Zhou Yu’s tone turned serious. “Still, it suits you perfectly. It’s a perfect match for your profession.”

Having said that, Zhou Yu turned to Peng Honghai. “Brother Hai, I heard you’ve awakened an ability too. What is it?”

Peng Honghai answered, “Mine is also invisibility.”

Without waiting for Zhou Yu’s response, Peng Honghai disappeared from sight.

“Damn it, who just kicked me?” Zhou Yu, who had been standing calmly, suddenly stumbled, nearly falling flat on his face. He looked back angrily.

At that moment, Peng Honghai reappeared and said, “That was me. Just wanted to let you know, my ability is the kind of invisibility you were talking about.”

Zhou Yu immediately ran over, slung an arm around Peng Honghai’s shoulders, and led him into a corner.

From the corner, the occasional sound of their mischievous laughter could be heard.

After a while, the two emerged from the corner, only to be met by a crowd of contemptuous stares.

Neither of them seemed the least bit embarrassed. At that moment, Zhou Yu said, “Let’s eat.”

Xiao Jie remarked, “You’re such a glutton, always thinking about food. Didn’t you just eat?”

Scratching his head sheepishly, Zhou Yu replied, “Well, fighting is exhausting, you know. That’s why I’m hungry again.”

Xiao Jie could only shake her head in resignation. “Fine, I’ll go cook,” she said, and turned away to the kitchen.

Just then, Peng Honghai said to Zhou Yu, “Old Zhou, I… I have to leave. I want to go home and take a look.”

Zhou Yu gazed at Peng Honghai for a moment and said, “Alright, come with me.”
