Chapter One Hundred Fourteen
Xiao Beibei reluctantly waddled over, pouting.
“Why do you say I schemed against you?” she asked.
Xiao Zhi inquired, “What exactly did Liu Haishan say?”
Xiao Beibei replied, “I wasn’t wrong. It’s the truth. If he can’t even beat you, how can he protect me?”
Xiao Zhi said, “Is that the same thing? How old do you think I am? And how old is he? Besides, if a fight breaks out, what if your old man gets hurt?”
Xiao Beibei countered, “How is that any different? Zhou Yu isn’t exactly young either. Can you beat him? And those new instructors? Can you take them on?”
Xiao Zhi was rendered speechless by her sharp retort, his face flushed as he pointed at her. “You, you, you…” he stammered, unable to finish his sentence.
Zhou Yu looked at Xiao Beibei with innocent eyes and said, “Hey, little girl, if you want to bring your old man into this mess between you and Liu Haishan, go ahead. After all, he’s your dad. Why drag me into it? I haven’t done anything to you, so why am I getting caught in the crossfire?”
Xiao Beibei replied, “I’m not blaming anyone. I’m just speaking the truth—my dad really can’t beat you.”
Xiao Zhi snapped angrily, “You little brat, shut up! Don’t you feel ashamed trashing your own father like that?”
Xiao Beibei retorted, “Isn’t telling the truth allowed?”

Xiao Zhi huffed, “How many times do I have to tell you? Are you planning to say it over and over?”
Xiao Beibei said firmly, “I don’t care. As long as he can’t meet this condition, it’s no deal. When he can, then we’ll talk.”
Hearing this, Xiao Zhi glanced at Liu Haishan and sighed without saying another word.
Liu Haishan looked toward Zhou Yu with hopeful anticipation after Xiao Beibei’s words.
Zhou Yu thought for a moment, then said to Xiao Beibei, “I can have Liu Haishan beat your dad after dinner, but I set the rules, and I won’t let your dad go easy. How does that sound?”
Xiao Beibei considered and said, “If today he agrees to my dad’s terms, then I’ll marry him today.”
Liu Haishan’s eyes brightened momentarily before dimming again.
No one else knew, but he was painfully aware of the gap between himself and the old commander.
Still, since Zhou Yu said it, he couldn’t refuse.
Xiao Zhi frowned and asked, “Xiao Yu, are you sure he can beat me in just one meal’s time?”
Xiao Beibei added, “What if he can’t win?”
Zhou Yu smiled and said, “If he can’t, then he can’t. Just needs more practice.”
Then, answering Xiao Zhi’s question, he said, “Fighting with all your life on the line? Forget it, no chance. But a contest? I’m somewhat confident.”
Xiao Beibei prompted, “Tell us your rules.”
Zhou Yu explained, “Three rounds. First, a 10-kilogram weighted obstacle run. Second, a hostage rescue—the faster wins. Third, hand-to-hand sparring. Best two out of three. Sound good?”
Xiao Beibei thought for a moment and said, “No problem. Start after dinner.”
Zhou Yu turned to Liu Haishan and said, “Looks like you won’t be eating this meal. Go find Xiao Leng and have him take you to the training ground. For the second round, I’ll have Xiao Hu find ten experts to play the robbers, and Xiao Long will be the hostage. No weapons allowed—rescue with bare hands.”
After speaking, Zhou Yu had Leng Yuhang lead Liu Haishan out.
Then he said to Xiao Long, “Teach him a few quick attack moves. Don’t embarrass me.”
Finally, he looked at Xiao Zhi and said, “Old man, if you’re afraid of losing, you can come along and watch.”
