Chapter Sixty-Eight: The Fall of Zhang Chenyang
This was not the end. Xiao Zi moved with astonishing speed; in the next instant, she thrust out her hand and landed a fierce punch on Zhang Chenyang’s right shoulder. A crisp sound of bones shattering rang out, and Zhang Chenyang’s gaze grew cold. But before he could react, an explosion thundered in his ears.
Simultaneously, he was blasted off his feet, hurled through the air before he could even hit the ground, then struck again by an enormous palm that sent him flying once more. Xiao Zi and her companions intended to press their attack, but five sharp blades manifested from thin air, forming a small circle on one side of the forbidden domain. Zhang Chenyang crashed heavily into this circle.
When he struggled to his feet, a small sword appeared where his severed lower leg had been, replacing it entirely. Steadying himself with great effort, another sword materialized before him, and without a moment’s hesitation, he severed his fractured right shoulder. Blood surged forth, and yet another blade grew from the wound.
Witnessing this scene, Long Yun and Xiong San felt their hearts tighten. The people of Grand Xia were indeed as ruthless as the legends claimed.
Only now did Zhang Chenyang finally look directly at Xiao Zi for the first time. “You’re no ordinary vengeful spirit, are you?” he said.
A golden light flashed in his eyes. “But do you think you’re the only one with a forbidden domain?”
He raised his sword-wielding hand, slashing through the air, his teeth clenched. “Divine Domain—Infinite Sword Realm!”
As soon as he uttered these words, a space emerged abruptly, intertwining with Xiao Zi’s forbidden domain. The two domains began to clash, almost as if they were wrestling for dominance. After a moment, Xiao Zi could clearly sense that his so-called Infinite Sword Realm was being devoured by the terrifyingly abundant energy of her own forbidden domain.
At the same time, Zhang Chenyang coughed up a mouthful of blood. “How... how can a B-class anomalous creature store so much energy in its own forbidden domain?”
He was dumbfounded. Her domain was, at best, merely forbidden, whereas his was divine—awakened after years of comprehension. Moreover, the price of using it was steep; it shouldn’t be possible for a B-class anomalous creature’s domain to surpass it.
Could he really be that weak?
It made no sense; even if he were lacking, the energy he wielded was that of the Sword God, one of the Twelve Chief Deities!
At this point, Long Yun and Xiong San couldn’t resist mocking him.
“Oh, where’s your divine domain now? Why not use it?”
“Hey now, Sister Yun, you shouldn’t say that. He must have suffered greatly to awaken a divine domain, and now, when he needs it most, he can’t use it. He’s already heartbroken—why rub salt in his wounds?”

“Right, right, we shouldn’t torment him like this. Surely it’s because his divine domain is so powerful, he’s afraid we couldn’t withstand it, so he’s holding back.”
“…”
Their banter would have driven anyone mad, not just Zhang Chenyang—even Xiao Zi herself would have struggled to endure such ridicule.
She glanced at Zhang Chenyang, probing for his reaction, and noticed he was acting strangely. His whole body trembled, facial muscles twitching, and an odd aura seemed to radiate from him.
Xiong San lowered his head, whispering to Long Yun, “I’ve heard people from Grand Xia are notorious for their pride—regarding their dignity as more important than their lives. If we keep goading him, what if he suddenly explodes and wipes us out?”
Long Yun chuckled awkwardly. “You think this is a cartoon? Where the protagonist always powers up at the crucial moment and defeats the villain?”
“But honestly, doesn’t this feel just like a cartoon? And we’re the antagonists, the absolute villains.”
They both turned their heads with difficulty.
Suddenly, a large disc appeared above Zhang Chenyang’s head. Before they could speculate about its purpose, three sword blades emerged from the disc, all forged from golden light. The aura they emitted was razor-sharp, as if a mere glance could wound you.
These three blades shot downward like bullets, piercing three different spots on Zhang Chenyang’s body—one of them striking his heart!
“Damn, is he about to kill himself because he can’t win?” Xiao Zi couldn’t help but curse.
“No!” Long Yun and Xiong San’s expressions grew grave.
“He’s charging up for something big! I remember there’s a move like this—it unleashes the power of the god within, but after using it, the body collapses from the overwhelming energy!”
The moment she heard “something big,” Xiao Zi reacted instantly, darting to Zhang Chenyang’s side, intent on finishing him off.
But it was already too late.
A surge of power radiated outward from Zhang Chenyang, repelling Xiao Zi, and behind him, a massive golden figure appeared. Its aura was immensely powerful, and Xiao Zi recognized it instantly as belonging to a deity.
“With faith as my sword, I sever evil!”
Zhang Chenyang’s furious voice echoed, and countless circles appeared in the sky.
Seeing these circles, Xiao Zi seemed to realize something and immediately waved her hand.

In that moment, all the energy within the forbidden domain gathered together. Xiao Zi used it to forge an enormous shield, blocking the circles tightly.
The next second, swords began to rain down from the circles, falling like a torrential storm.
These blades, confronting the energy controlled by Xiao Zi, were like raindrops unimpeded by clouds—falling straight down without resistance.
Through the Blood Demon’s Eye, she observed the terrifying energy fluctuations pulsing from the descending blades. If even one struck her, it would be no trivial matter.
And if one hit, surely more would follow.
Certain doom awaited.
In the midst of this dire peril, she devised a solution: to quickly dissolve her forbidden domain.
With this thought, she waved her hand, and the whole world reverted to its original state. The swords vanished, the crisis resolved.
Was it really so anticlimactic?
Long Yun and Xiong San gaped in disbelief. “You can deploy your forbidden domain at will, fine—but how can you dismiss it so freely?”
“Huh? Is it difficult to dissolve your own forbidden domain at will?”
She remembered that when she first acquired her forbidden domain, it could be dismissed at any time.
“Generally speaking, anomalous creatures’ forbidden domains are closely tied to their life essence, making it extremely troublesome to open or close them.”
Long Yun paused midway through her explanation. “Forget it—conventional logic doesn’t apply to you. We should hurry up and escape. If the people from Grand Xia arrive, we’re finished!”
With that, she ignored Xiao Zi, taking Xiong San with her, disappearing from her sight.
Xiao Zi looked at Zhang Chenyang. He was already dead, yet even in death, impaled by swords, he did not fall.
His eyes had lost their light, but still brimmed with murderous intent.
Countless currents swept chaotically around him, and blood-red rain began to fall over the land.
Zhang Chenyang’s demise had moved even the heavens to tears.
Yet, he had encountered the likes of Xiao Zi—a being as unstoppable as a cheat code.
