Upon hearing the rabbit speak, Wang Hui’s mind began to race.

Why did a rabbit’s eyes look so terrifying? And why could it speak human language? Moreover, the appearance of this rabbit reminded him of an urban legend: the Killer Rabbit.

In fact, there had always been a chilling tale whispered around Qianyou Town. It was said that once night fell, a snow-white rabbit with blood-red eyes would appear in the town—the Killer Rabbit. This rabbit was the stuff of nightmares, snatching away children who stayed out late and didn’t return home.

But no matter how you heard it, this story always sounded like a tale to scare kids.

Looking at the white rabbit tilting its head before him, Wang Hui realized the image perfectly matched the legend of the Killer Rabbit.

He then analyzed what the rabbit had just said. What did it mean by, “You carry the scent of a human”? If it was asking this, then perhaps it didn’t actually know he wasn’t human.

But why would it think he wasn’t human? That didn’t matter now. What mattered was keeping himself alive.

With that in mind, Wang Hui forced himself to remain calm and spoke in an indifferent tone. “I just ate a lot of humans, so naturally I carry the scent of humans.”

Surprisingly, the Killer Rabbit didn’t seem to doubt him at all. Instead, a chilling smile appeared on its face. “So your hobby is eating those inferior humans.”

“Yes, yes, human flesh is quite delicious,” Wang Hui hurriedly agreed.

But to his surprise, the Killer Rabbit looked at him with disdain. “What’s so good about eating such an inferior species?” With those words, it hopped off the wall and walked toward a dilapidated wooden hut. “Come, let me show you my collection.”

Wang Hui forced himself to suppress the urge to run. He knew that if he tried to escape now, he’d expose himself as a human for sure.

Although the rabbit looked small and, from behind, almost a little cute, Wang Hui wasn’t foolish. A talking rabbit, with those utterly terrifying eyes, and an instinctively fearsome aura—it would be madness to believe this rabbit was anything but deadly.

He had no choice but to grit his teeth and follow.

Stepping into the hut, Wang Hui felt as though he’d plunged into an icy abyss, his entire body stiffening, unable to utter a word.

The Killer Rabbit remained unfazed and began to explain, “These are all my collections. Look—men, women, young and old, all sorts. See those terrified expressions on their faces? I consider that their tribute to our kind.”

All around him lay human corpses. Some were decomposing, some fresh, and some still oozing dark blood.

Wang Hui desperately covered his mouth to keep from vomiting, but the Killer Rabbit seemed to notice his distress. “Well? Do you find this satisfying?”

Wang Hui nodded frantically. “This… this is simply art!”

Hearing this, the Killer Rabbit’s ears perked up straight. “You appreciate my taste?”

Wang Hui nodded again. “In human terms, you are a kindred spirit.”

“You’re knowledgeable about human culture too?” The Killer Rabbit’s red eyes shone even brighter. “I thought you were like most of the other bizarre beings—low intelligence. But it seems you’re a high-intelligence entity, just like me. It’s good I kept emitting signals only our kind can perceive.”

“Exactly, exactly,” Wang Hui replied, though he hadn’t understood a word. He could only keep nodding.

“In that case, let me show you my ultimate collection!” With that, the Killer Rabbit dashed toward another room.

Wang Hui blinked hard, then followed.

The moment he entered, he froze.

The gruesome scene he’d anticipated was missing. In fact, the room was empty.

“How about it? I went through a lot of trouble to get these,” the Killer Rabbit said, noticing Wang Hui’s dumbfounded expression and immediately realizing why. “Oh, right. Without my eyes, you can’t see them. To you, they’re just ordinary souls.”

With that, the rabbit raised its paw and, without hesitation, gouged out its own blood-red eye, handing it to Wang Hui. “Here, use this.”

Wang Hui stared blankly at the eye, veins still dangling and dripping fresh blood.

Trembling, he bent down and took the blood-red eye.

It looked like an eye, but it was more like a gemstone—half-transparent and glimmering.

Wang Hui could guess its use.

He held the red gem before his own eyes and looked around. This time, his whole body began to tremble uncontrollably.

The room had become hell on earth.

Five humanoid spirits of varying colors were embedded in the walls, their faces twisted in agony and madness.

What held these spirits in place were various human organs—a gruesome, sickening sight.

Beside him, the Killer Rabbit continued, “Well? Have you ever seen such uniquely colored souls? My eye is remarkable—it reveals the true essence of things. The reason you see these colors is because you’re seeing their true nature. For example, this green soul—he was timid and cowardly to the point that his soul itself turned green…”

But Wang Hui interrupted, “So you mean, a human soul’s color can change based on certain attributes?”

The Killer Rabbit glanced at him, noticing an enormous change, though he couldn’t say what it was.

“That’s right, but it’s very difficult. These souls have taken me a long time to collect. By the way, why did your eyes turn red?”

“Do you know what colors the souls of the wicked, the strong-willed, the dream-chasers, and the brave are?”

“The wicked are black, the brave are yellow. As for the other two, I don’t know. But tell me, why did your eyes turn red? Oh, and can you give me your eyes? I have great use for them.”

“That won’t do. Give my eye back now. Most of my power is concentrated in it. Without it, my strength is greatly diminished.”

As soon as he finished speaking, a violent current of air slashed toward him.

In an instant, one of his legs was severed by the blade of wind.

The Killer Rabbit stared in disbelief and terror at the man before him. “You… you’re a Ghost Tamer!”

But as soon as he spoke, he shook his head in denial. “Impossible. The aura I emitted can only be sensed by our kind. The strange entities inside Ghost Tamers have no consciousness—they couldn’t sense it. Besides, that attack is far beyond what an E-class entity could manage. What are you?”

Indeed, Xiao Zi had already seized control of Wang Hui’s body.

Just as Wang Hui was approaching, Xiao Zi had sensed the Killer Rabbit’s aura and guided Wang Hui here.

The Killer Rabbit was a D-class anomaly, so it was not wary of Xiao Zi, whose aura was only E-class, and even handed over its energy-concentrated eye.

Now, Xiao Zi could completely overpower the Killer Rabbit.
