Chapter 125: An Extraordinary A-Class Anomalous Entity
These ghost-tamers had originally come just to witness the three Grade-A ghost-tamers in action. Because they were slower than those three, they arrived just in time to see them being instantly obliterated.
These were three Grade-A ghost-tamers! What did that even mean? In the Sakura Kingdom, the most powerful humans were only Grade-A, and there were only a handful in the entire nation. Yet, these three incredibly powerful beings had been slaughtered in the blink of an eye, before anyone could even react.
Terrifying! Utterly terrifying!
Faced with the soul-crushing pressure of Xiao Zi’s aura, the ghost-tamers acted in a way that would make any ghost feel touched. Without a moment’s hesitation, they threw themselves to their knees, pressed their heads hard against the ground, and shouted in unison, "We are sorry! We shouldn't have locked you up!"
Xiao Zi ignored their apologies completely. He moved in an instant to the storage area for the life essences of supernatural creatures and took every single Grade-A essence. The next second, he arrived at the containment area. Looking at the creatures inside constantly trying to break free, then back at the ghost-tamers kneeling on the ground, too terrified to even lift their heads, Xiao Zi gave a wicked smile.
"You must all get along well!"
With that, he condensed his immense energy into soul-cleaving blades, shattering every cage in an instant and releasing all the supernatural creatures trapped inside. Having done this, he deactivated his forbidden zone and walked out of the laboratory.
He departed, leaving behind no trace of his identity. He flicked his sleeves, taking nothing with him—truly, he was himself.
Before he had gone far, he felt the surging energy of the supernatural creatures back in the lab. It is worth noting that he felt no energy from the ghost-tamers, meaning that even after being slaughtered by the creatures, they hadn't even dared to fight back—a testament to the sheer terror Xiao Zi had instilled in them.
Xiao Zi did not leave immediately. Instead, he hid in the shadows, curious to see how the Sakura Kingdom’s officials would handle the situation, which would allow him to gauge their true strength.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before a hairy, humanoid creature appeared within Xiao Zi’s perception. It was undoubtedly a supernatural creature, but its aura was different from the others—though he couldn't quite put his finger on how. This piqued Xiao Zi's curiosity, and he decided to follow it to see what would happen.
It was only a Grade-A creature, but the laboratory held three Grade-A entities and a swarm of lower-level ones. Xiao Zi knew the Sakura Kingdom's officials were in league with these creatures, but sending only one seemed like throwing his life away. Could he be planning to pacify them?
With this doubt in mind, Xiao Zi watched as the creature smashed the lab door open with a single punch, coming face-to-face with all the beasts inside. The moment they saw him, the creatures erupted with hostile energy, letting out piercing screeches. Xiao Zi knew they were enraged.
The very creatures that had been tormenting the ghost-tamers were now furious at the sight of this newcomer. Xiao Zi realized this matter would not end peacefully.
Then, a voice slowly resonated: "Muliao, you dare come here?"
The speaker was one of the Grade-A creatures in the lab, now shrouded in its own aura, clearly ready for battle. So, "Muliao" was the name of the humanoid creature. Just as Xiao Zi expected Muliao to offer some excuse, the other simply said coldly, "Are you all going to die together, or will you hand over the creature that escaped?"
Arrogant! Extremely arrogant!
His arrogance was met with an immediate response. The creatures swarmed him, unleashing their full power, clearly intending to kill him on the spot. But faced with these attacks, Muliao calmly raised a hand in a sword-finger gesture.
"By command of the heavens, taint the world with darkness!"
As the words fell, the surroundings seemed to freeze. Even the creatures in the lab were suspended in mid-air, while he alone moved freely. He appeared to walk slowly, but his speed was astonishing; in a flash, he touched each creature with his sword-finger and returned to his original position.
The next second, all the creatures fell from the air. Their auras had vanished completely, leaving them as helpless as shackled beasts. Muliao said coldly, "I will ask you one more time: which one of you started this?"
He received no reply—only glares of hatred.
"Boring."
Muliao spread his hands, and countless violent bursts of energy erupted from the exact spots he had touched on the creatures. In an instant, their life essences were wiped out.
Xiao Zi, watching through his Blood Demon Eyes, understood clearly. It wasn't true time manipulation; Muliao had used a special method to control the local energy, freezing the entire area, including gravity. He had planted his own energy into the creatures, and this energy had the power to destabilize and control the energy of other supernatural beings. In the end, they all died from their own internal energy riots.
After analyzing this, Xiao Zi marked Muliao as a major threat. If he was this powerful at Grade-A, what would he be like at Grade-S? This guy could not be left alive.
Deciding this, he began to close the distance, intending to strike and kill him in one blow. Muliao was carefully scanning the surroundings, and after a long while, he murmured, "That creature seems to have escaped; he has a bit of a brain after all."
Just as he finished speaking, he realized something was wrong, but before he could react, it was too late!
Everything around him turned blood-red. The overwhelming, suffocating supernatural aura made him realize the gravity of the situation. Xiao Zi gave him no chance; he triggered a time-stop at his limit, appeared instantly at his side, and unleashed his soul-cleaving blades without hesitation.
These blades were even larger than before, stained red as if by fresh blood, and moved with the speed of teleportation. Xiao Zi unleashed six of them, all striking true.
Muliao was sliced into several pieces, yet the energy within him struggled to maintain his life form, preventing him from being reduced to a mere life essence.
"So, you are the creature who let them go?"
This was the same aura he had sensed earlier. He had thought the target had fled, never expecting a counter-ambush that caught him off guard. Seeing that his foe wasn't dead yet, Xiao Zi felt his pride insulted. He enveloped the pieces in his energy and triggered a violent explosion.
"Let's see you survive this!"
