Update Notice

First and foremost, I want to state that this book will not be abandoned. Dreams require persistence, and I do not wish to let down the readers who enjoy this story.

Before I started writing this book, I knew clearly that it was not tailored to market trends and would likely flop. As expected, it is performing quite poorly at this stage. Yet, I must continue writing it—because I love it, and because I have a story that has been brewing for years that I simply must tell.

However, as a professional writer, writing is not just about dreams; it is also about making a living. Life is always like this: struggling with the mundane realities of the present while holding onto poetry and distant dreams. With no other choice, as this book cannot yet support me, I have to seek other work to put food on the table.

I took on a gig yesterday that requires me to work on two books simultaneously. Since that other project provides immediate payment, it must take priority. Consequently, updates over the next few days will be somewhat unstable. Once that project settles into a rhythm, I will resume writing this one. There is no helping it—the poor scholar’s pantry is running dry.

Rest assured, I will not abandon this book, and I certainly will not compromise on its quality. I am doing this for the sake of my dream. I can deceive gods or ghosts, but I cannot deceive myself or my readers. In fact, this might be for the best; writing with a bit more freedom and ease will help ensure the quality of the narrative.

Moving forward, once my other work is finished, I will post whatever I manage to write for this story, taking it one step at a time. If you find the pace too slow, feel free to let it sit on your bookshelf for a while. I will strive to reach the second volume by the end of the month.
