Apologies, abandoning the book.

Let me start with a sincere apology.

I had intended to accelerate the pace and bring this book to a swift conclusion, but unfortunately, I failed to do so.

The pacing of this book became far too chaotic, completely straying from the initial setup and world-building. After wrapping up the primary main storyline of the first phase, I hit a hard wall and simply could not write any further.

It is not that I lacked the desire to write; I genuinely reached a point where I could no longer continue.

Today, I managed to write a chapter and a half. The first chapter was a struggle to squeeze out, and shortly after it was published, it was blocked and taken down.

As for the remaining half-chapter, even I found it completely unreadable. Writing it was agonizing, and developing the subsequent plot points according to any coherent rhythm has become practically impossible.

Although I could wrack my brains and force out updates just to pad the word count, the quality would be terrible, and I cannot even bring myself to accept it. Continuing to write under these conditions is utterly meaningless.

In truth, I realized long ago that this book suffered from massive flaws in its world-building, pacing, and plot development. Despite constantly trying to steer it back on course, things slipped beyond my control.

After much careful and agonizing consideration, I have decided to abandon this book.

Once again, I am deeply sorry to all the brothers who have supported me along the way.

The setting for the new book will be the Chinatown of San Francisco in the late nineteenth century.
