At those words, Liu Yizhen’s fury was ignited completely. His aged face flushed deep red, and he no longer cared about maintaining the dignity of his position as chairman. He roared, “You brat, that’s utter nonsense!”

Qin Hongcai’s expression grew cold as well; after all, Liu Yizhen was his guest. Moreover, his daughter’s condition still depended on Liu Yizhen’s expertise. He directly warned Ye Chen, “If you dare to spout nonsense again, I guarantee you won’t leave the Qin household intact today! Apologize to Master Liu at once, or I’ll have the bodyguards summoned!”

Ye Chen remained unruffled, gazing at Liu Yizhen, and spoke calmly, “I just want to ask Master Liu a few questions. If I’m wrong, I’ll leave immediately.”

Liu Yizhen’s eyes blazed with anger. “Ask, then! I’d like to see what a snot-nosed kid thinks he can discern about my ailments!”

Ye Chen asked, “Does Master Liu suffer from migraines?”

At that question, Liu Yizhen’s eyes widened. Migraines weren’t something the average person could diagnose at a glance; the symptoms were subtle, even for him. Without taking the pulse, he wouldn’t be able to spot the illness so quickly. Yet Ye Chen, after merely glancing at him twice, had pinpointed the migraine!

Could it simply be a wild guess?

Ye Chen paid no heed to Liu Yizhen’s agitation, pressing on with two more questions. “As far as I know, your migraines aren’t like those of ordinary people. It’s not just a common headache, is it? And, between noon and one o’clock, as well as midnight to one, your head feels as though it’s splitting apart. You are utterly helpless, unable to treat yourself, correct? Am I right?”

After Ye Chen posed those questions, Liu Yizhen was left utterly dumbfounded. He stared blankly at Ye Chen, stammering, “How… how do you know so much?”

Beside them, Qin Hongcai and Liu Lan were equally shocked. Ye Chen had precisely diagnosed Master Liu’s illness—without any detailed examination. Clearly, Ye Chen’s medical skill was no less than Liu Yizhen’s.

Ye Chen, noting Liu Yizhen’s reaction, smiled slightly. “It appears my guess was correct. Frankly, your ailment is a minor matter for me.”

“You… you truly can cure my illness?” Liu Yizhen was astounded. The migraines had tormented him nearly to death, especially at noon and midnight, the pain so intense he’d almost want to smash his head against the wall. He had pored over countless ancient medical texts and sought advice from eminent Western physicians, but nothing had worked. If Ye Chen could cure him, it would be nothing short of saving his life.

“Of course I can,” Ye Chen replied with confidence, his expression turning grave. “If you let this go untreated, before long your main cerebral artery will rupture. You’re a doctor yourself; I needn’t explain the consequences.”

Liu Yizhen’s heart clenched—Ye Chen’s prediction was all too plausible. His attitude shifted dramatically, and he no longer dared question Ye Chen. Remembering his earlier rudeness, he feared Ye Chen might refuse to treat him.

Liu Yizhen stepped before Ye Chen and bent his knees, kneeling directly at Ye Chen’s feet.

Instantly, Ye Chen was taken aback; he hadn’t expected such a strong reaction from Liu Yizhen. Apparently, the old sage’s words were true: self-preservation is instinctive. No matter how powerful one is, if you grasp their fatal weakness, they have no choice but to submit.

Qin Hongcai and Liu Lan were so stunned by the scene that their jaws nearly dropped. The esteemed chairman of the Traditional Medicine Association, known as Master Liu Yizhen, had knelt before Ye Chen after his diagnosis! It was simply unbelievable.

Ye Chen was not one to press his advantage; he hurried forward to help Liu Yizhen up. But Liu Yizhen stubbornly remained on his knees. “Young man, it’s all my fault for failing to recognize your worth. I was blind, and I offended you today. Please forgive me and treat my headaches!”

Ye Chen insisted on helping Liu Yizhen to his feet. “Don’t worry. Since I’ve identified your illness, I will treat you. Do you have your silver needles with you?”

“Yes! They’re my tools of the trade—I’d never forget them!” Liu Yizhen rushed to his medical kit, opened it, and produced several silver needles. As he handed them to Ye Chen, he remembered they were still in the Qin household and that Miss Qin should be treated first.

He smiled awkwardly. “Young man, my illness isn’t urgent. You should treat Miss Qin first, then attend to me later.”

He thought that curing such a stubborn ailment would take some time; it would be better for Ye Chen to help Miss Qin first, then treat him thoroughly afterward.

But Ye Chen, accepting the needles, replied in earnest, “It’s nothing. Your minor ailment will only take three minutes—it won’t delay treating Miss Qin.”

Really? Could it be so quick?

A trace of doubt crept into Liu Yizhen’s mind. He had scoured medical books and consulted respected Western doctors, yet none could cure him. Now Ye Chen claimed it would take only three minutes!

Could it really be so fast?

Liu Yizhen dared not question Ye Chen further and obediently sat in a chair, waiting for Ye Chen’s treatment. Qin Hongcai and Liu Lan watched closely. If Ye Chen could cure Liu Yizhen in minutes, then there was hope for their daughter as well!

Soon, Ye Chen inserted a needle into the Baihui point atop Liu Yizhen’s head, then pressed two other acupoints with his fingers. “Master Liu, your cerebral vessels are blocked, causing congestion. In a moment, I’ll expel the stagnant blood from your skull. Don’t be alarmed.”

“Understood!” Liu Yizhen replied.

“Then let’s begin!”

Ye Chen spoke, then focused his internal energy, channeling it through his fingers into Liu Yizhen’s cranial cavity. Soon, Liu Yizhen felt a sharp, unbearable pain at the Baihui point. He gritted his teeth, struggling to endure, just as he was about to falter, Ye Chen withdrew his fingers from the acupoints and struck Liu Yizhen’s occiput with a palm.

At the same instant, the silver needle at Baihui drew forth a stream of black blood, which spilled onto the floor. As the dark blood drained, Liu Yizhen felt his head grow lighter and more comfortable than ever before!

He cried out in amazement, “It’s gone! Truly gone! This young man has cured my migraines!”

Liu Yizhen laughed with childlike joy. The headaches had tormented him for years, and now, cured by Ye Chen in just two minutes, he couldn’t help but rejoice.

Qin Hongcai and Liu Lan, witnessing this miraculous scene, could no longer contain their excitement.

Qin Hongcai rushed to Ye Chen, “Young man, I was rude earlier. Please, I beg you to save my daughter. If you cure her, whatever you ask—so long as I can do it—I will agree!”
