Chapter Ninety-Five: The Sinister Organization
“Why are you so surprised when you hear about the enslaved people? Do you have a grudge against them?”
In the car, Chu Feng was driving and asked Ma Han, who sat beside him. Although he had learned some details about the organization called the Enslaved from Molong, he couldn’t understand why Ma Han was so shocked by it.
“That’s because I was the one who destroyed this organization back then. I never expected it to rise from the ashes. I have to report this to the team leader. Those people once lured many of our countrymen away,” Ma Han replied.
Ma Han’s shock at hearing about the Enslaved stemmed from the fact that he had personally led the operation to eradicate them when the organization first emerged. At that time, they were deceiving young people in China into working for them, only to sell these youths as slaves.
When the country's top officials learned of this, the highest commander was furious and dispatched Ma Han’s special forces unit with orders to wipe out the organization completely, showing no mercy to anyone involved.
“According to what Molong told me earlier, the founder of this organization must have been a scientist; otherwise, how could he know how to use chips to control people’s brains?” Chu Feng said.
Based on the information Chu Feng had gathered from Molong, the organization was highly structured and membership-based. Even if you had the money, without membership, they wouldn’t sell slaves to you.
“You’re right. The founder of the Enslaved was indeed a scientist. He was half Chinese—his father was Chinese and his mother American,” Ma Han confirmed.
“This guy’s Chinese name is Li Peigen. Abroad, he’s known as Jack the Ripper. He suffered misfortune in childhood, which twisted his mind and made him deranged,” Ma Han explained, showing deep knowledge of Li Peigen’s background.
“So, didn’t you destroy the organization back then? How has it risen again? Was it because you never caught Li Peigen?” Chu Feng asked, reasoning like any normal person. If Li Peigen hadn’t been caught, he could have used his resources to rebuild the organization.
“They did catch him at the time. He was put on trial in an international court, but someone rescued him. Since then, he’s been in hiding. I thought he was dead, but it turns out he’s been secretly conducting deals,” Ma Han said with a hint of helplessness. He had been the one to capture Li Peigen initially, and because the court needed him to testify, he was sent to the US international court, only to be rescued unexpectedly.
“At that time, Li Peigen hadn’t yet developed the brain-control chips. Instead, he was gathering female orphans worldwide and turning them into slaves for depraved individuals to exploit. It was only after he extended his reach to China that we wiped him out,” Ma Han recounted, giving Chu Feng a glimpse into a dark chapter from over a decade ago—one that was never reported domestically to avoid public panic.
“Back then, they captured women and turned them into slaves. Now, they’re capturing men, using chips to control their minds and even severing their pain nerves. Such people deserve to die a hundred times over,” Chu Feng said, reflecting on what Molong and Ma Han had told him. He felt that even the harshest punishment would not suffice to atone for the suffering Li Peigen had caused to countless families.
“I suspect Li Peigen was scared off by our crackdown. Otherwise, he would have already reached into our country again. Since there have been no recent reports, it means he’s afraid of being wiped out once more,” Ma Han added.
Indeed, Ma Han had not seen any large-scale disappearances or received similar reports in recent years.
“I think if you tell the clan leader about this, he might order the special operations team to hunt down Li Peigen’s old base and wipe him out completely,” Chu Feng suggested, seeing the situation from Long Feihu’s perspective.
“Who knows? If the order comes from above, we will stop at nothing to eliminate him,” Ma Han replied firmly, never hesitating to take decisive action when given a command.
After more than forty minutes, Chu Feng and Ma Han finally arrived at the Air Force Hospital. It was already eight in the morning.
As Chu Feng stepped into the hospital lobby, his vision blurred momentarily before he was suddenly embraced by a warm hug. Ma Han, witnessing the scene, shook his head and quietly left.
“Where did you disappear to? I went to see Old Chen’s room today but didn’t see you. Old Chen said you went back to Shanghai,” Han Xuefang said. Only Han Xuefang would disregard appearances to hug Chu Feng like that; if she didn’t see him for a day, her heart felt as if it was being scratched by a cat’s claws—unbearably itchy.
“Enough, there are so many people watching. Aren’t you embarrassed? Come on, let’s go upstairs. I’ll tell you everything there,” Chu Feng said hurriedly, pulling Han Xuefang from his arms. The patients in the lobby had all turned to watch the scene, making Chu Feng feel a little embarrassed.
He led Han Xuefang to the second floor and asked her to wait outside while he went in to speak with Old Chen.
“Old Chen, I’m back,” Chu Feng greeted as he entered the room, seeing Old Chen sitting on the sofa eating breakfast.
“Eat first. We’ll talk after you finish,” Old Chen said, noticing the redness in Chu Feng’s eyes and realizing he hadn’t slept all night. He urged him to sit and eat.
After finishing the meal, Chu Feng carefully recounted everything that had happened in Shanghai and told Old Chen about the Enslaved organization.
“I’ve heard others mention the crimes this organization committed in China. They are truly evil,” Old Chen said, his face growing serious. It was clear he knew a lot about the Enslaved.
“From now on, be very cautious when dealing with these people. If something feels wrong, run immediately. Some of them have implants, and some will relentlessly pursue you,” Old Chen warned, subtly advising Chu Feng to stay vigilant.
“Old Jin will be leaving the hospital today. You should go see him. I won’t be going,” Old Chen added.
