The manager suddenly stepped forward and addressed the Dragon with deference. His words dispelled the suspicion in the Dragon’s eyes, as until now, the servers who delivered his meals were always the same person—only today had someone new appeared.

“Very well, I’ll attend later. I don’t recall you mentioning this event before,” said the Dragon.

He had been staying at the hotel for a week. Though he rarely ventured outside his room, never had the staff spoken of any activities.

“This event was personally arranged by our owner just yesterday. It will be held for three consecutive days—today, tomorrow, and the day after—because our boss’s wife has given birth to a healthy baby boy,” explained the manager. His tone was polite yet confident, exuding warmth that drew people in.

“Alright then, I’ll bring the child and attend. Is it in the restaurant on the tenth floor?” The Dragon, upon hearing the manager’s explanation, found his doubts completely assuaged.

“Yes, the decorations were set up earlier this afternoon, and everything is ready. We look forward to your presence,” the manager replied, bowing slightly to the Dragon before leading Chu Feng away.

“Whew! How about that? My acting skills aren’t bad, right? I used to be an actor,” the manager said as he entered the elevator, letting out a deep breath to steady himself and boasting to Chu Feng about his former profession.

“Not bad. On a scale of ten, I’d give you a 7.5. With the right connections, you could make a decent actor,” Chu Feng replied, withholding exaggeration. The manager’s performance was indeed commendable; Chu Feng admired his ability to remain true to himself and deliver such convincing lines.

“So what’s next? Since you mentioned a family package, we’ll need to gather more adults and children, or the Dragon might become suspicious. That could complicate the capture,” Chu Feng cautioned, worried the manager might not be fully prepared. If the Dragon discovered deception, he might go on a rampage within the hotel, leading to chaos and potentially widespread panic.

“I’ve already arranged everything. Several hotel staff are married and have children. They’ll come to eat, and setting up decorations is quick work,” the manager assured.

It seemed this man was indeed resourceful; otherwise, he wouldn’t be the manager of a five-star hotel. With a salary like his, he must earn at least three to five million a year.

Soon after, children began to appear in the hotel—employees’ children, brought in by the manager to make up the numbers. After all, the food was free.

For guests already dining, the manager announced the event: today, all meals were complimentary, expenses covered by the hotel.

One of Ma Han’s team members monitored the Dragon’s room, ready to alert Chu Feng at the slightest movement.

Chu Feng remained in his server’s uniform; having worn it to see the Dragon, he committed to the role.

“Target spotted. He’s coming out with the woman and child, no one else behind them.” As soon as the Dragon entered the surveillance frame, Chu Feng’s team received the update.

Ma Han and his team played with the children, posing as their fathers. The mothers had been notified in advance, ready to act their parts.

When the Dragon arrived at the tenth-floor restaurant with Old Jin’s wife and child, he saw the event was indeed underway.

“Sir, please take your seat,” Chu Feng said, gesturing politely to Wang Long.

“Uncle, I really like playing with this gun. Can I try it for a while?” The child beside the Dragon spotted a virtual monster-hunting arcade, grabbed the toy gun, and began playing.

“Sir, why don’t you take your seat while I watch over him? When he’s tired, I’ll bring him to you. Your seat is right next to the arcade; the little one will be just fine,” Chu Feng suggested, bowing slightly. If the Dragon accepted, Chu Feng could quickly get the child to safety.

The Dragon said nothing, merely glanced at Chu Feng. After a moment, he nodded. Chu Feng felt a surge of relief.

The Dragon and the child’s mother—Old Jin’s wife—sat at a nearby table. Chu Feng observed the woman; if she truly was Old Jin’s wife, her composure was remarkable.

He saw no trace of panic or anxiety on her face, only a cold indifference.

Once the Dragon was seated, Chu Feng made a covert gesture behind his back. Ma Han, Wang Chen, and Xiao Hei all noticed.

Suddenly, the child playing the game began to cry, startling everyone nearby. All eyes turned toward them, and the Dragon stood up to see what was wrong.

Wang Chen swiftly ran over, scooped up the child, and dashed away. Meanwhile, Xiao Hei circled behind the Dragon, grabbed the woman, and pulled her aside.

“Don’t move. If you so much as twitch, I guarantee a bullet will find your head,” Ma Han said, pressing his gun to the Dragon’s skull.

“Dragon, I didn’t expect you to be so easily deceived. Come with us; we’ll talk when we get there. An old friend is waiting for you,” Chu Feng said, stepping in front of the Dragon and producing a special cord from his waistband. This cord, with its looped design, tightened with any attempt to escape.

“We’re police. There’s a case of child abduction and human trafficking here. You may take photos and videos, but anyone spreading false rumors online will be held legally accountable,” Chu Feng warned, seeing many people recording the scene.

After the successful rescue, Chu Feng called Old Jin, informing him that his wife and child were safe.

After hanging up, Chu Feng couldn’t shake the feeling that the rescue had been too easy, with hardly any resistance from the Dragon.

Well-trained assassins never surrender without a fight; it’s ingrained in them to commit suicide by poison if captured.
