Chapter Fifty-Nine: All Captured
“Go!” Ma Han and another team member gave the order simultaneously, and Wang Chen and Xiao Hei lunged forward at the same moment. The two sentries had no idea what was happening before their lives were ended by daggers.
“Two of you stay where you are. We’ll be there soon,” Ma Han said into his earpiece, then leisurely led Chu Feng and the others toward the abandoned factory.
Once they joined up with Wang Chen’s group, they briefly discussed the plan. The six of them split into two teams: one would take the secure passage, and the other would use the regular route.
Ma Han and two others took the secure passage. Chu Feng, Wang Chen, and Xiao Hei went along the normal corridor. Meanwhile, the ten men on the third floor, unaware that their sentries had been eliminated, were still drinking and playing cards.
“It’s noon already, Xiao Liu. Tell those two to head out and buy some food—and more liquor while they’re at it. Damn it, last night they barely brought any booze because they didn’t want to be bothered. There’s not nearly enough to drink,” grumbled a bald man. The skinny man beside him heard the order and went downstairs, while the bald man continued playing cards with the others.
Chu Feng led Wang Chen and Xiao Hei forward with great caution, wary that there might be more sentries in other rooms around the factory. If they were discovered, a direct assault would be unavoidable.
As Chu Feng advanced, he suddenly signaled for Wang Chen and Xiao Hei to hold still, then quietly peered ahead.
He caught sight of the skinny man coming down the stairs. With a flick of his left hand, a surgical scalpel appeared between his fingers.
The skinny man was humming a tune as he descended. Rounding the stairs, he spotted the three of them. Instinctively, he tried to shout, but Chu Feng clamped a hand over his mouth before he could make a sound.
“If you don’t want to die, keep quiet. Otherwise, I’ll send you to meet your maker right now.” Seeing the man still struggling, Chu Feng punched him hard in the gut.
The skinny man stopped resisting after the blow, his terrified eyes fixed on Chu Feng and the others. He couldn’t figure out how these intruders had bypassed the sentries, not realizing the two outside had already been dispatched.
“Tell me—how many are left inside? Where are they positioned? Are any of them armed? Don’t try anything clever.” Chu Feng spoke in Mandarin, as the skinny man didn’t look like a local.
“There are still nine inside, all in a room on the far left of the third floor. We don’t have any guns. Sir, I don’t know what we’ve done to offend you.” The man’s voice was trembling with fear—his cowardice so evident that just a little intimidation made him spill everything.
“You haven’t offended me, but you know perfectly well what you’ve been up to these days. Go join your friends.” As soon as Chu Feng finished speaking, his scalpel slashed the man’s main artery.
He laid the body gently on the ground, but the man’s thin frame convulsed as the life ebbed from him. Chu Feng ignored him, leading Wang Chen and Xiao Hei onward.
Chu Feng kept in touch with Ma Han over the radio, relaying the location of the nine remaining men.
Without further hesitation, they dashed up to the third floor. At the same time, Ma Han and his team arrived as well.
“Toss in a flashbang and a stun grenade. Don’t kill them—we need them alive for questioning,” Ma Han said after consulting with Chu Feng. Wang Chen and Xiao Hei pulled a flashbang and a stun grenade out of their packs.
After pulling the pins, they hurled both through the small window in the door.
Boom—the sound echoed outside, and the men in the room started shouting. Some flung open the door and tried to escape.
In a matter of moments, all nine had regained their sight, only to find themselves staring at five fully-armed special forces soldiers and a young man with a face cold as frost.
“Which one of you is Big Dog? Step forward now! If you make me find you myself, I’ll break your limbs first,” Chu Feng barked, knowing Big Dog was their leader.
As soon as he finished, all eyes turned to a bald man. Noting their gaze, Chu Feng strode over to him.
“So you’re Big Dog. Since you don’t want to admit it, I’ll break your limbs first. If you still refuse, I’ll cripple your third leg!” Chu Feng seized Big Dog’s arm, ready to act.
“Please, sir, spare me! I don’t know what I did to upset you, but whatever it is, I apologize!” Big Dog instantly became submissive, dropping to his knees and clutching Chu Feng’s leg, sobbing.
Chu Feng looked at him with disgust and kicked him hard, sending him sprawling. Spotting that he was near the window, Big Dog tried to make a break for it, but after only a few steps, agony shot through his legs and he collapsed to his knees.
Chu Feng approached, dragged Big Dog in front of his companions, and pulled two bloody scalpels from the man’s legs.
“Now, answer whatever I ask. If you dare lie, I’ll cut a piece of flesh off you with this scalpel.” He waved the bloodied blade before Big Dog’s eyes, making him shudder uncontrollably.
“What were you doing at around ten the night before last? Think carefully before you answer. Don’t you dare lie to me.” Chu Feng’s gaze was fixed on Big Dog, who began trembling violently at the question.
“Sir, I didn’t know those two were your family. I just meant to rob them, but they didn’t have any money and threatened to call the police if they got out alive, so I had no choice but to kill them both.” As he spoke, Big Dog kept glancing at Chu Feng, hoping he’d believe him.
Swish! A flash of silver, and agony shot through Big Dog’s hand. Looking down, he saw his pinky finger had been cleanly sliced off.
“If you lie to me again, I’ll cut off something you’ll really miss. Now talk—who ordered you to kidnap those two?” Chu Feng pressed the bloody scalpel to Big Dog’s face.
