Chapter 110: Helping Ziyan Retrieve the Bullet
When Han Xuefang heard what Chu Feng said, she bristled like a cat whose tail had been stepped on and sprang to her feet to challenge him.
“Don’t worry. With my medical skills, even if the bullet stayed in her body for half a year, I could still cure her.” Chu Feng’s voice was filled with confidence.
“Then hurry up and eat. It must be terribly painful to have a bullet lodged in your body, especially since that man punched her.” Han Xuefang urged Chu Feng to finish his food so he could quickly remove the bullet from Ziyan’s leg.
“Go on. Remove the bullet first. Ziyan isn’t really a bad person.” Elder Chen spoke from the side as well. More than anything, he was willing to show mercy because Ziyan had once saved Chu Feng’s life.
Chu Feng drank a couple of mouthfuls of porridge, then went with Han Xuefang to the hospital room where Ziyan was staying. The moment he opened the door, his eyes widened instinctively. Ziyan was standing there completely naked.
“Ah!” Ziyan heard the door open and looked up, only to see Chu Feng staring fixedly at her. She instinctively let out a shriek.
“Pervert! Get out!” Ziyan snatched up a pillow from the bed and hurled it at Chu Feng, frightening him into quickly closing the door.
The pillow struck the door with a thud. Han Xuefang had heard Ziyan’s scream, but she had been standing behind Chu Feng and had not seen what was happening inside.
“What happened? Why did she scream the moment you opened the door?” Han Xuefang stared straight at Chu Feng.
Chu Feng merely shrugged without saying a word. How could he explain that he had seen her completely naked? The more he said, the worse it would sound, and it would only lead to misunderstandings.
“Are you done yet? I’m going to come in.” After waiting several minutes and hearing nothing from inside, Chu Feng could not help calling out.
“Come in.” Ziyan’s weak voice came from within. Hearing her reply, Chu Feng pushed the door open again.
Ziyan was sitting on the edge of the bed, but her face was still flushed bright red.
“Sister Ziyan, why is your face so red? Did you see a cockroach in the room just now?” Han Xuefang was puzzled by Ziyan’s flushed face. She had assumed that Ziyan’s earlier scream had been because she had spotted a cockroach.
“I’m fine. What are you here for today?” Ziyan answered casually before turning her gaze toward Chu Feng.
“I came to remove the bullet from your leg. I also came to tell you that my superior has decided not to hold you accountable and has ordered me to release you.”
“However, you have to agree to one condition: leave the Blazing Sun organization and never participate in any of its activities again.”
Chu Feng said this in front of Han Xuefang. He no longer feared letting her know, since Elder Chen had already instructed her not to spread the matter.
“Then get started.” Ziyan’s voice sounded somewhat unsteady.
“Xiaofang, help me. It wouldn’t be appropriate for me to have overly intimate contact with her.” After saying this, Chu Feng left the room. With Han Xuefang there, he felt too embarrassed to stay.
Less than two minutes later, he heard Han Xuefang call out, “Chu Feng, you can come in now.”
Chu Feng pushed the door open and saw that Ziyan had lain down on the bed, leaving only her lower leg exposed. It seemed she was taking precautions against him.
“Don’t give me an anesthetic. It might affect me.” The moment Chu Feng took out the anesthetic, Ziyan firmly refused it.
For someone skilled in martial arts, receiving an injury meant avoiding anesthetics whenever possible. Once administered, they could interfere with the brain’s reactions.
“How can you stand that? It’s going to hurt terribly!” Han Xuefang’s mouth fell open in astonishment when she heard Ziyan.
With a flourish, Chu Feng produced a surgical knife as if by magic and began removing the bullet from Ziyan’s leg.
“Hmph!” At first, Ziyan managed to endure it, but as the bullet was extracted, she could not help letting out a muffled groan.
After three minutes, Chu Feng removed the bullet from Ziyan’s leg and placed it in the palm of his hand.
He stitched the wound, and while doing so, infused her with some of his own life force so that she would recover more quickly.
“Sister Ziyan, how do you feel? Does it still hurt?” Once she saw that the bullet had been removed, Han Xuefang hurried over to ask whether Ziyan was still in pain.
“Thank you.”
Ziyan suddenly uttered those words. She had never said them before, yet she had spoken them twice within two days.
“You don’t need to thank me. If you want to thank someone, thank my girlfriend. If she hadn’t shown mercy, I really would have sent you to keep Demon Wolf company yesterday.”
Chu Feng had indeed intended to do so the day before. If Han Xuefang had not stopped him, he might truly have gone through with it.
“I never said I was thanking you. I was thanking Xuefang. You’re the one who butted in because you thought too highly of yourself.”
Seeing Chu Feng’s shameless, carefree expression, Ziyan felt irritated. She had never encountered anyone as obnoxious as him.
“You’d better think carefully. I saved your life yesterday, and today I removed the bullet for you. If you aren’t thanking me, then whom are you thanking?”
Chu Feng immediately became displeased. He had worked so hard for so long, yet Ziyan had not only failed to thank him but was mocking him as well.
“Did I ask you to help me? You did all of this willingly. Why blame me?”
Ziyan had always been strong-willed. Naturally, she fired back when Chu Feng spoke to her so forcefully.
“All right, you two, stop arguing. Sister Ziyan has just had the bullet removed, so she must be very weak. I’ll buy you some nourishing soup later.”
Han Xuefang was quite willing to become friends with Ziyan. Aside from her friends at the nurses’ station, Han Xuefang hardly had any friends outside of work. She was simply too busy and never had the time.
“Xiaofang, stay here and look after her. Don’t go downstairs to help out for the next couple of days.” Chu Feng said this before leaving the room. He also called away the two soldiers stationed outside.
Elder Chen had already ordered Ziyan’s release, so there was no longer any need for the soldiers to keep watch over her. She could leave whenever she wished.
“Chu Feng, this is a message the National Security Bureau just delivered. Take a look.”
As soon as Chu Feng returned to Elder Chen’s room, Old Wang handed him a document envelope.
