Chapter 5: So Exciting, It Made My Nose Bleed
The female secretary entered carrying a box of cigars, her voice honeyed as she said, “Handsome, why don’t you try these cigars and see how they taste?”
Su Han Yan shot a sharp glance at her, and the secretary instantly froze in her tracks.
Gu Xiang Nan frantically signaled her with his eyes.
The secretary was at a loss, unsure whether she should advance or retreat.
She hurried out, flustered.
Su Han Yan turned back, and Gu Xiang Nan’s expression swiftly became serious.
“Xiao Nan, seeing you like this makes your elder sister worry you’ll go astray. How will I explain to our masters in the future?”
Her junior was so young and innocent, just down from the mountain, suddenly exposed to so many temptations—it would be too easy for him to be corrupted.
This was praise meant to kill!
Gu Xiang Nan pointed at Wang Jin Quan beside him. “It was him! He taught me.”
Wang Jin Quan nearly rolled his eyes. Who was it just now talking about wanting to try cigars, wine from '82, Maotai…?
Afraid of being beaten, Wang Jin Quan had simply given orders for everything to be arranged, but before anything could be delivered, Su Han Yan arrived.
“Mr. Wang, this is between you and me. Leave my junior out of it. If you try anything with him, I’ll risk everything to make sure you pay for it,” Su Han Yan threatened coldly.
Her junior had already injured so many of the Wang family; would Wang Jin Quan try to poison him?
“President Su, you’re mistaken! I didn’t, I wouldn’t!” Wang Jin Quan was desperate to clear his name.
“There won’t be a next time,” Su Han Yan said icily.
In the past, who would dare speak to Wang Jin Quan this way?
But now, he saw Su Han Yan as a savior.
He shook her hand warmly, genuinely welcoming her. “President Su, Miss Su, what took you so long? I’ve missed you terribly!”
Su Han Yan was bewildered.
Wang Jin Quan led her briskly toward the CEO’s office. “President Su, let’s hurry and complete the paperwork.” Once done, he’d quickly escort the troublemaker out.
Gu Xiang Nan and Wu Mei Yu followed, entering the office as well.
Wang Jin Quan handed Su Han Yan a contract.
She read it, frowned, and pointed to a section. “Mr. Wang, there’s a problem here.”
“What’s the issue?”
“This clause states that the patent for the formula will be bought out by the Wang Corporation, requiring only a single payment, and any future sales are unrelated to our company. That’s not right! It’s not what we agreed.”
“President Su, this is the biggest concession I can make. Otherwise, given your current situation, you might as well prepare for bankruptcy!”
Gu Xiang Nan’s anger flared. “What a sly old fox. That’s not what you promised me earlier. If you won’t honor your word, then neither will I!”
With that, he lightly slapped the table, and the marble surface splintered with a hole.
Wang Jin Quan broke out in a cold sweat.
Security guards outside heard the commotion and rushed in to protect him.
Before they could get close, Gu Xiang Nan sent out a palm strike from a distance, stirring up a gust of wind.
The wind was utterly silent, yet the security guards abruptly halted, only to find their uniforms torn in several places.
Was that it?
The guard checked himself over—he felt no pain anywhere.
“So you’re just a pretty face, huh? That pathetic skill can’t even harm a hair on me,” the burly guard mocked, lowering his guard.
“Get out!” Gu Xiang Nan threatened, his face stern.
Outside, the employees burst into laughter.
Someone shouted, “How arrogant! With skills like that, practice for another ten years before coming back to cause trouble!”
The guard tried to rush forward again, but his clothes suddenly shredded into strips, fluttering away like butterflies caught in the breeze.
He quickly covered himself and fled.
“I don’t want to hurt anyone uninvolved. If you want to live, get out now. Otherwise, next time it won’t just be a gust of wind.”
Everyone present was stunned.
Just a palm wind?
It had that much force?
If he struck with full force, wouldn’t someone be flattened on the spot?
Gu Xiang Nan commanded, “Leave!”
The employees scrambled out, leaving their shoes scattered across the floor.
He turned to Wang Jin Quan. “Draft a new contract according to my elder sister’s requirements. Don’t try any tricks—I’ll get angry!”
“Yes, yes, right away.”
Terrified, Wang Jin Quan changed his tune and told the secretary to amend the contract immediately.
Su Han Yan didn’t refuse, accepting her junior’s gesture. Everything proceeded smoothly after that.
When she left with Gu Xiang Nan, Wang Jin Quan finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Wanzhen Grand Hotel.
This French restaurant was renowned in the city, with highly sought-after tables. Su Han Yan had made a reservation well in advance for lunch.
They had booked a private room.
The candlelight flickered, imbuing the space with elegant ambiance.
When the appetizers arrived, Su Han Yan spoke.
“Xiao Nan, I truly don’t know how to thank you. If it weren’t for you, my company might have collapsed.”
In the candlelight, her eyes shone even brighter, like stars scattered across the night sky.
Gu Xiang Nan took her hand. “Elder sister, with me here, no one will dare bully you again.”
Su Han Yan smiled and nodded.
Suddenly, something occurred to her. She pulled out her phone. “If my junior sisters knew you were here with me, they’d be overjoyed. I’ll call them right now.”
She stood and went outside to make the call.
In front of Gu Xiang Nan was a small round plate, reminiscent of a checkers board, with several hollows, each holding a snail.
He picked up a tiny fork, scooped out the snail meat, and tasted it.
It wasn’t bad—creamy, soft, and pleasantly chewy.
Su Han Yan returned to the room. Gu Xiang Nan put down his fork and asked, “Elder sister, how did it go? When are they coming?”
Su Han Yan set down her phone and pondered. “They’re all very busy. Third and fifth sisters are abroad. Second sister didn’t answer—she’s always busy. You’ll understand when you meet her someday. I managed to reach fourth sister. She’ll come see you in a couple of days.”
“What about sixth and seventh?”
“As for them… I couldn’t reach them either.” She hesitated.
Gu Xiang Nan looked a bit disappointed.
Just then, the waiter served the second course, and Su Han Yan seized the opportunity to change the subject.
“Enough talking for now, have some soup.”
Gu Xiang Nan stared at the soup in his bowl, licking his lips. “Why just soup? I’m still hungry.”
“Don’t worry, next is fish, then steak. By the way, how was the snail just now?”
“Pfft~” Gu Xiang Nan spat out his soup.
“What? That was a snail?”
Su Han Yan, sitting across from him, was caught squarely—her hair and face splattered with soup, leaving her a bit disheveled.
Gu Xiang Nan quickly grabbed a napkin to help her wipe it off, muttering, “I thought it was a river snail! How can foreigners like to eat such disgusting things?”
The thought of slimy snails made him queasy.
Su Han Yan tidied up in the restroom, and in the corridor unexpectedly saw Wang Jin Quan.
But he didn’t see her.
Wang Jin Quan was walking with another man, deep in conversation.
Before she could get a good look, they turned a corner and disappeared.
Su Han Yan felt that the man was somehow different, though she couldn’t pinpoint why.
She didn’t dwell on it and returned to her private room.
The meal went well; they shared a bottle of red wine, and finally a driver took them home.
Rose Garden Hilltop Villa.
The villa’s double doors swung open, the interior pitch dark.
Su Han Yan said, “Princess, turn on the lights.”
The lights came on.
Gu Xiang Nan found it fascinating and repeated, “Princess, turn on the lights.”
No response.
“Silly, you need to say, Princess, turn off the lights.”
The lights went out again.
Gu Xiang Nan once more called for the lights, and Su Han Yan explained, “My house is fully equipped with smart appliances. Just use the voice command.”
Gu Xiang Nan marveled at the modern convenience.
He walked further in, finally seeing the full interior.
“Wow! Elder sister, your home is huge!”
Gu Xiang Nan spun in circles in the first-floor living room, his face flushed, the wine making him chattier than usual.
“Xiao Nan, do you like it?”
Gu Xiang Nan nodded vigorously.
“As long as you like it, you can stay here as long as you wish. What I have, you can have too.” Su Han Yan’s cheeks were rosy; she’d had her share of wine.
Gu Xiang Nan grinned happily.
“Xiao Nan, explore the house for a bit—I’ll head upstairs.”
The villa was lavishly decorated, spotless and tidy.
Gu Xiang Nan decided to try, “Princess, turn on the TV.”
The 72-inch television mounted on the wall powered up, displaying an image of Su Han Yan.
Facing the camera, she quickly slipped off her outer clothes, leaving only a lace thong.
Her slender waist and full bust made for a stunning figure.
The enormous screen gave an intense, direct impact.
Gu Xiang Nan felt a rush of heat to his nose—blood began to trickle out.
