Wang Mei was both embarrassed and furious, her face flushed a deep red. She glared at Gu Xiangnan and cursed, "Don’t you dare look! Watch yourself or I’ll gouge your eyes out."

Gu Xiangnan withdrew his gaze and asked, "Who are you? Why did you attack me?"

"Wang Jinquan is my father. So, tell me, why do you think I came to find you?"

Gu Xiangnan looked utterly surprised. "Really? No way! How could someone so ugly have such a beautiful daughter?"

He examined Wang Mei carefully, unable to reconcile her face with Wang Jinquan’s features.

"Let me go!" Wang Mei struggled with all her might, but couldn’t break free.

Gu Xiangnan said nothing more, simply turning and heading back toward the villa.

Wang Mei panicked at the sight.

Night was deepening, the temperature plummeting, and she was soaked to the bone, chilled through and through. If she had to spend the night in the courtyard, she’d surely catch a cold. Was Gu Xiangnan really going to leave her out here to freeze?

At the mention of "Fusang," a strong sense of disgust rose within her. She disliked the people of Fusang intensely. How could her father have become involved with them?

Wang Mei pressed on, "What’s really going on?"

As he freed her from her restraints, Gu Xiangnan replied, "You’d better ask about it yourself at home. Even if I tell you, you won’t believe me."

Wang Mei suddenly felt lighter; Gu Xiangnan had released the water hose that had bound her.

Just as she was about to leave, Gu Xiangnan unexpectedly placed his hand on her back.

Startled, Wang Mei demanded, "What are you doing? Trying to take advantage of me?"

"Don’t move."

Gu Xiangnan continued to press and knead her back. Oddly enough, Wang Mei found his hand warm and comforting.

After only a few presses, she felt the cold dissipate from her body.

Her warmth returned.

But soon, she sensed something amiss.

A surge of heat rose from the base of her sp
