Chapter 153: Taking Turns in Succession
Gu Xiangnan followed the direction of her finger.
In the distance, at the very peak of the cliff, stood a villa.
Within a radius of two kilometers around it, there were no obstacles whatsoever—not even a single tree.
They must have cleared them out for fear of people hiding nearby.
Behind the building was a sheer precipice, making it utterly impossible for anyone to climb up from the cliff face.
Above the villa, helicopters were even patrolling the skies.
The two quickly retreated to their car.
The spot where they parked was still quite far from the villa and shielded by a grove of trees.
They surely hadn't been discovered!
Aiseli sighed and said, "He truly is an old fox. He’s already prepared for you coming after him."
Gu Xiangnan wore an indifferent expression.
"Prepared or not, what does it matter? He must die today!"
Aiseli frowned at him and asked, "With defenses this tight, how do you plan to get in?"
Gu Xiangnan didn't see what was so difficult about it. "Just walk in, don't you think?"
Aiseli was startled at first, then tried to persuade him, "This villa is already an impenetrable fortress. You might not even make it inside before you're blown to pieces."
Pulling out a cigar, Gu Xiangnan took a puff.
"As long as I want to get in, no one can stop me."
Aiseli was momentarily stunned.
She recalled the battle at the jewelry store earlier. She had watched from a distance and missed many details.
Yet, so many people had surrounded Gu Xiangnan, and every single one of them had failed.
It was easy to imagine that Gu Xiangnan possessed astonishing strength.
Aiseli said with a grave expression, "Gu, have you ever considered that if you kill the head of the Dibang family, everyone will know you did it?"
"The members of his family will surely hunt you down all the way to Huaguo."
"They might not be able to defeat you, but they can target your relatives and friends!"
"Have you given any thought to your family?"
Hearing this, Gu Xiangnan fell into a brief thought.
Thinking her words had worked, the boulder weighing on her heart lightened slightly.
"You really remind me of something."
Without hiding anything from her, Gu Xiangnan directly summoned Taoyao.
An exquisite beauty suddenly appeared in the back seat, and Aiseli was so startled she almost screamed.
"Master, have you finally remembered me?"
Taoyao pouted playfully at Gu Xiangnan.
"Let's talk business," Gu Xiangnan said solemnly. "Accompany me to wipe out the Dibang family."
Taoyao cupped her fists and saluted:
"As you command!"
Gu Xiangnan continued:
"There is something I need you to do. Once you see the head of the Dibang family, control him and make him summon all his clan members here."
"I am going to wipe out their entire family in one fell swoop!"
Aiseli was dumbfounded.
Taoyao acknowledged the order once more.
"Aiseli, wait for me here!"
Leaving behind these words, Gu Xiangnan opened the door and got out of the car.
He and Taoyao strode toward the villa.
Soon, a helicopter spotted their figures and immediately reported back to the head of the Dibang family.
Inside the study of the villa:
Before the head of the Dibang family lay an unfinished game of international chess.
An assistant entered to report, "Sir, Gu Xiangnan has arrived."
The head of the Dibang family did not look up. His brows were tightly knitted, and after a few seconds, he moved a pawn.
Only then did he stand up and instruct the assistant:
"Give the order. Have everyone prepare for battle."
"Yes!"
The assistant bowed and withdrew.
At the main gates of the villa:
The loudspeakers installed on the perimeter walls began broadcasting warnings:
"Warning! Warning! Unauthorized personnel, leave immediately! Otherwise, we will take necessary measures!"
Gu Xiangnan and Taoyao walked side by side.
Their pace never faltered for even a second.
By now, the head of the Dibang family was standing by the window, watching through the glass as the two of them walked closer step by step.
Seeing them draw nearer and nearer, he picked up his walkie-talkie and ordered, "Obliterate them immediately!"
Snipers lying in ambush on the rooftop of the villa instantly locked their sights on Gu Xiangnan.
Their fingers rested on the triggers, ready to fire at any moment.
Suddenly, Gu Xiangnan stopped in his tracks. With a flick of his right hand, he made a fierce whipping motion.
A blue cord came flying toward the sniper.
A cord?
The sniper laughed inwardly.
The effective range of his sniper rifle was 1,920 meters—nearly two kilometers.
The distance between them was just outside the sniper's range, roughly two kilometers away.
Could a human being possibly wield a soft cord two kilometers long?
Besides, what good was a cord anyway?
The very next second, he found out the answer.
The blue cord zipped rapidly through the air like a nimble snake imbued with life, instantly wrapping itself around the sniper's body.
This was...
Water?!
His eyes widened in sheer disbelief!
Before he could even react, a tremendous force yanked him up into the air, dragging him straight toward Gu Xiangnan.
*Thud!*
When the sniper hit the ground, it made a muffled sound.
Before he could even let out a cry, he vomited a mouthful of blood and smashed to his death right at Gu Xiangnan's feet.
Seeing this scene, the face of the head of the Dibang family turned ashen.
He grabbed his walkie-talkie and bellowed, "All snipers, attack together!"
Instantly, countless gun barrels poked out from the rooftop of the villa, all aiming at Gu Xiangnan.
Gu Xiangnan smiled faintly and waved his arm once more.
The blue water whip flew toward the villa again.
The head of the Dibang family steadied his racing heart.
That blue water whip, which had initially looked ordinary, underwent an astonishing transformation in mid-air.
Its volume rapidly expanded, dancing through the sky like a giant blue dragon.
Then, the water whip rapidly split apart.
Countless branches spread across the entire sky like vines.
Every single branch acted like an agile little snake, actively seeking out nearby enemies.
Seeing the water whip hurtling toward them, some snipers opened fire in retaliation.
Bullets passed straight through the streams of water without meeting any resistance whatsoever.
It was completely useless!
"We have to run!" a sniper shouted in despair.
Americans did not care about benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, or trust; at critical moments, saving their own skins came first.
Yet it was all in vain.
The water whip seemed equipped with a tracking system; no matter where they ran, it pursued them relentlessly, then tightly bound the bodies of the snipers.
They struggled desperately, but the bindings only grew tighter and tighter.
"Ah—!"
"God! Save me!"
A chorus of agonizing screams echoed continuously from the rooftop.
Inside the study, the head of the Dibang family began to lose his composure, his fingers tapping rapidly against the desktop.
Half a minute felt as long as half a century.
Finally, silence fell once more.
The head of the Dibang family picked up his walkie-talkie and said in a deep voice:
"Send in the tanks!"
"Yes, sir!"
Having completed its mission, the Myriad Swords technique recalled the water whip, and it vanished in an instant.
Taoyao looked at Gu Xiangnan with adoration in her eyes.
"Master! I find you more handsome by the day—I'm falling in love with you!"
Gu Xiangnan raised an eyebrow.
"You're only starting to like me today? It seems I was far too low-profile in the past."
The two of them exchanged a smile.
At that moment, a slight tremor shook the ground.
Han Fei suddenly appeared and shouted, "Xiaonan, it's dangerous! They're shelling us with tanks!"
He hadn't spent all that time watching military channels for nothing; he even recognized a tank when he saw one.
Gu Xiangnan pulled Taoyao close and flashed out of the way.
*Boom!*
The tank fired a shell directly at the spot where they had been standing just a moment before.
The ground shook violently, dust and debris flew into the air, and a massive crater was blasted into the earth.
The tank crew clearly saw the shell fly right up to Gu Xiangnan.
At that distance, no human reflex could possibly react in time.
He was dead beyond a doubt!
As former frontline soldiers, they were extremely cautious and dared not venture out of the tank casually. They simply stayed hidden inside to observe closely.
There was no sign of Gu Xiangnan anywhere.
"Where is he?"
"Probably blown to smithereens!" the crewman in charge of firing said with a chuckle.
*Clang!*
It sounded as though something had just landed right on top of the tank.
