The two of them instantly sprang apart, casting vigilant glances all around.

The surrounding sea was completely empty, save for a few gentle ripples.

No abnormalities were detected.

Just as they were about to resume what they were doing, an even more violent jolt struck them abruptly, resembling the tumbling of massive waves.

The two tightly embraced each other.

To their astonishment, the sea level, which had been within arm's reach just moments before, suddenly vanished.

Leaning over the gunwale and looking down, they saw that their boat had been lifted into the air by a mysterious force, to a height roughly equivalent to a three-story building.

With wide eyes, they looked around in terror.

The next second, a strong sensation of weightlessness washed over them.

The small boat was hurled downward violently by an invisible giant hand, plunging rapidly from the high altitude.

Immediately following this, a colossal wave surged toward them, slamming heavily onto the deck with immense impact.

The food and beer, along with Gu Xiangnan and Aiselei, were all swept into the churning waves together.

The seawater was bitterly cold and salty, and coupled with the darkness of the night, the two could barely see each other.

"Aiselei—!"

Gu Xiangnan shouted at the top of his lungs, his voice sounding terribly feeble amidst the roaring waves.

By this time, Aiselei had already swallowed several mouthfuls of seawater, and her physical strength was rapidly failing.

Right at this critical juncture, a flash of purple light appeared.

It was Taoyao!

Standing upon the boat, she began to chant an incantation.

Countless rays of purple light flew from her fingertips and into the ocean.

Meanwhile, Aiselei was utterly exhausted, completely devoid of the strength to tread water.

Her body hung straight and limp as she sank toward the ocean floor.

Catching sight of Taoyao, Gu Xiangnan swam toward the small boat with every ounce of his remaining strength.

Suddenly, he felt something lifting him upward.

Leveraging this force, he quickly swam to the side of the boat.

The unseen force kept supporting him until he managed to climb back onto the deck.

"How is Aiselei?"

Gu Xiangnan asked Taoyao, gasping heavily for breath.

Taoyao pointed toward the surface of the sea.

Gu Xiangnan looked over and spotted a faint glimmer of purple light deep beneath the water.

That light grew increasingly intense.

Straining his eyes, Gu Xiangnan realized that countless fish were supporting Aiselei, swimming upward from the ocean depths.

Every single fish was emitting a soft, faint purple glow.

It was Taoyao's spell!

"Bring her up!"

Taoyao commanded the fish.

The fish seemed to understand her words, steadily swimming toward the small boat with Aiselei in tow.

Finally, with the assistance of Taoyao and Gu Xiangnan, Aiselei was safely brought back aboard the vessel.

"Thank you both..."

Aiselei whispered, trembling as she leaned into Gu Xiangnan's embrace.

"What is happening here? Why are there such huge waves when there is no wind?" Gu Xiangnan asked with a puzzled expression.

With a grave look on her face, Taoyao replied:

"My Lord, this place is extremely dangerous. We must leave at once!"

Gu Xiangnan took out his smartphone; it was kept safe inside a waterproof pouch and remained undamaged.

He checked their location and showed the screen to Aiselei.

Aiselei's face turned completely ashen:

"We... we have already reached the edge of the Death Triangle!"

She said, gripped by terror and anxiety:

"Mysterious shipwrecks happen here constantly. We cannot venture any further inward, or catastrophe will strike!"

It was already this perilous just reaching the periphery.

Going any deeper might very well capsize the boat altogether.

"Alright!"

Decisive as ever, Gu Xiangnan turned the boat's sails around.

He drove the vessel away from this dangerous stretch of sea with all their might.

Whether it was because they had left that specific area, one could not be sure, but the boat gradually grew steady once more.

When they looked back, they witnessed a shocking sight.

Beneath the sea surface, several gigantic whales had originally been heading toward the mysterious Death Triangle.

However, the moment they crossed into that domain, they appeared to be in agonizing pain. Thrashing about in the water, they abruptly reversed direction and swam away toward other paths.

Because of their massive size and immense power, their turns whipped up colossal waves.

Unintentionally, those waves had tossed Gu Xiangnan's small boat high up into the air.

Aiselei felt rather weak; her desperate struggle earlier had consumed too much of her stamina.

Now, feeling a chill as well, her complexion remained deathly pale.

Sensing her discomfort, Gu Xiangnan reached out to touch her forehead and said:

"Aiselei, you seem to be running a fever. Go inside the cabin and rest for a bit; it's warmer in there."

Aiselei nodded in agreement.

Gu Xiangnan carried her into the cabin. The boat owner had previously informed him that an emergency medical kit was kept inside.

He took out a fever-reducing pill and had Aiselei take it.

Seeing her fall into a deep sleep, he gently closed the cabin door and stepped back outside.

"General Han, please reveal yourself," Gu Xiangnan called out.

On the deck, Gu Xiangnan, Han Fei, and Taoyao gathered together.

"Paradise Island should be right in there. Sailing straight in carries massive risks, and it could easily cost us our lives and our vessel."

"Are the two of you willing to go ahead on my behalf and investigate the situation?"

Han Fei and Taoyao cupped their fists simultaneously and answered:

"We are willing!"

"If Paradise Island can be found, show no mercy—kill them all!"

"Understood!"

Waving his sword, Han Fei shouted:

" Hear my command, all soldiers! Manifest at once!"

The blood-jade bead hanging around Gu Xiangnan's neck glowed with a faint red light.

Countless heroic spirits materialized in an instant, floating suspended in mid-air.

"Scouts, hear my order!"

Han Fei commanded.

"Your subordinate is here!"

Dozens of scouts stepped forward to receive their orders.

"Go ahead and scout the path forward. The moment you discover anyone on the island, report back to me immediately."

"As you command!"

Remaining in a state of invisibility, they flew off in different directions.

Han Fei stayed behind to formulate the battle plan, assigning roles among the various commanders.

To his amazement, Gu Xiangnan noticed that the general's tactics incorporated modern military theories.

"General Han, did your Song Dynasty fight wars this way as well?"

"Not entirely different!"

Han Fei laughed and said, "Though I've learned quite a bit more from watching television every day."

At that moment, one of the scouts flew back.

"General, an island has been discovered five kilometers to the northwest. There is a large amount of human activity on the island, roughly estimated to be around three hundred people."

"Well done! What is the exact location of the enemy leader?" Han Fei pressed on.

A troubled look crossed the scout's face:

"Reporting to the General, I have not yet ventured deep enough to investigate, so the precise location of the leader remains unknown."

Han Fei waved his hand grandly:

"Scout further and report back!"

Acknowledging the command, the scout vanished into the night once more.

Han Fei then summoned all the heroic spirits to hold an emergency mobilization meeting.

In a deep voice, he declared:

"On the island ahead is a group of cunning and seasoned mercenaries."

"They traveled thousands of miles to our Cathay nation to blatantly assassinate Mr. Gu, causing the tragic demise of Mr. Gu's godmother."

"Today, we are here to exact a debt of blood with blood!"

"A debt of blood with blood!"

"A debt of blood with blood!"

All the heroic spirits brandished their weapons and shouted in unison.

The morale of the undead legion instantly reached its peak.

Han Fei continued his deployment:

"Upon landing on the island, the primary objective is to locate and eliminate their leader; he must not be allowed to escape. As for the rest, show no quarter!"

Han Fei's rich combat experience proved particularly crucial at this moment.

With a single wave of his hand, he issued the order:

"All forces, attack!"

Like tigers freed from their cages, the heroic spirits rushed toward the island en masse.

Taoyao chanted an incantation under her breath, rose into the air, and accompanied the heroic spirits toward the target.

Gu Xiangnan sat quietly on the deck, awaiting good news.

Half an hour later, a deafening explosion echoed through the air, and the flames lit up half the sky.

Gu Xiangnan sprang to his feet, gazing anxiously in that direction.

The undead legion was impervious to harm.

But Taoyao was not.

"She... she'll be alright, won't she?"
