Chapter 110: The Secured Dragon Vein
In that moment of distraction, the fake Gu Xiangnan seized the opportunity and launched another fierce attack. Gu Xiangnan quickly regained his focus and raised his sword to parry. Sparks flew as the two blades clashed! Gu Xiangnan was pitted against Gu Xiangnan. They traded blows, locked in an intense and evenly matched struggle.
As time passed, Gu Xiangnan gradually felt his strength waning; his stamina was constantly being drained, while the fake Gu Xiangnan showed no signs of fatigue. If this continued, he would eventually be defeated. Panic rose in his heart; he had to find a way to break this stalemate.
One lapse in concentration was all it took. The fake Gu Xiangnan spotted the opening. Gu Xiangnan felt a blur before his eyes, and the figure of his double suddenly vanished.
"Oh no!" Gu Xiangnan thought, his heart sinking.
Just as he prepared to turn and defend, a powerful blast of air struck him from behind. Too late to dodge, he had to take the hit head-on. With a thunderous "bang," he was sent crashing to the ground.
Yang Dianfeng and Zhang Baolian broke into a cold sweat, but they were powerless to intervene. If even Gu Xiangnan couldn't win, wouldn't they just be throwing their lives away?
The fake Gu Xiangnan stood over him, a triumphant smile on his face. "Gu Xiangnan, once you're dead, I will live your life for you!" With that, he raised his sword high, preparing to deliver the final, fatal blow.
"No!" Zhang Baolian cried out in terror. Yang Dianfeng steeled himself, ready to charge forward to help.
Lying on the ground, Gu Xiangnan gritted his teeth. He would not accept this defeat! He had to live! He could not die!
The fake Gu Xiangnan’s blade descended with lightning speed! Gu Xiangnan instinctively raised his hands, trying to block the whistling strike. Yet, could he truly withstand such a powerful onslaught?
Zhang Baolian squeezed her eyes shut in despair, unable to look. Yang Dianfeng froze in shock, roaring, "No! Brother!"
"Bang!" A deafening sound echoed through the room. The fake Gu Xiangnan’s sword had struck a massive green shield that had materialized above Gu Xiangnan’s head. The shield was as solid as a rock. In the head-on collision, the sword shattered instantly into countless fragments.
Yang Dianfeng and Zhang Baolian stared, stunned. Where had that shield come from?
"No! How is this possible?!" the fake Gu Xiangnan shrieked. He let out a miserable wail as his body began to blur, eventually dissolving into a mist that was sucked back into the mirror.
Gu Xiangnan was equally bewildered. He looked at the shield in his hands, filled with confusion. Where did this come from? He had clearly been holding the Infinite Sword just a moment ago. Suddenly, a spark of realization flashed through his mind, and his heart raced. Could it be… could this be the Infinite Sword as well?
To test his theory, he tried to see if he could retract it just like the sword. He focused his mind, silently commanding the shield to vanish. Sure enough, it disappeared in an instant. Gu Xiangnan was ecstatic; he had finally grasped the mystery of the Infinite Sword.
"Xiaonan, hurry, destroy the mirror!" Zhang Baolian warned loudly. A figure was still visible inside the mirror, slamming against the glass as if trying to break free.
Gu Xiangnan immediately rushed toward the mirror and smashed his fist into it. The glass shattered completely. A shrill, harrowing scream emanated from the mirror, but it quickly faded into silence.
Gu Xiangnan let out a sigh of relief. He turned to look at Yang Dianfeng and Zhang Baolian, a victorious smile on his face. Yang Dianfeng walked over excitedly, gave him a tight hug, and exclaimed, "Brother, it seems the only person who can truly defeat you is yourself!"
Zhang Baolian threw herself into his arms, cupping his face and planting a flurry of kisses on him like a chick pecking at grain.
"Hurry and pull out the sword," Gu Xiangnan said, feeling a bit embarrassed with Yang Dianfeng watching.
Zhang Baolian went to the statue and pulled out the giant blade. It was clearly a valuable artifact, but Gu Xiangnan didn't dare to take it. It was covered in strange, eerie runes—it felt truly malevolent. In the end, Zhang Baolian stowed the sword away, sliding the entire thing into a small pouch.
Yang Dianfeng watched in disbelief. "How did a two-meter-long giant sword fit into that?" he asked, peering curiously into the bag.
"This is a Qiankun Pouch, given to me by my grandfather."
Just then, a strange, hair-raising sound echoed from deep within the building. A female voice whispered into their ears, "Thank you, I am free! Hahahaha~"
This was followed by a ghostly, ethereal laughter. One look told them that the voice did not belong to the living. The three of them scanned their surroundings, but saw no one.
The voice seemed to linger, whispering in their left ear one second and their right the next. Zhang Baolian sneered, analyzing the situation: "It seems many souls were trapped here, pinned down by that sword and unable to move on. Now that the sword has been removed, they can finally reincarnate."
Gu Xiangnan said, "Those Fuso people are truly detestable. Let's pursue them quickly!"
"We've wasted so much time, they've probably run far away by now," Yang Dianfeng said with regret.
"Follow me... I know where they are..."
The ghostly female voice drifted through the air again. The three exchanged glances, understanding that the ghost was offering to lead the way. Zhang Baolian produced a talisman from her pocket and threw it in the direction of the sound. A blurry white figure gradually materialized.
Zhang Baolian said politely, "Please, lead the way."
The white figure nodded and drifted away rapidly. The three followed closely. They entered the private elevator, and at the ghost's direction, Zhang Baolian pressed the button for the basement level.
When the elevator doors opened, they were met with a pitch-black tunnel. Fearful, Zhang Baolian stood at the entrance, peering out but not daring to step inside. Seeing this, Gu Xiangnan immediately summoned the Infinite Sword; its golden light shone like a brilliant beacon, illuminating the entire tunnel.
The white figure floated ahead, guiding them through various twists and turns. A few minutes later, they reached a stone ladder, sturdy enough for them to climb safely. Without hesitation, the three began to ascend.
However, their path was blocked by a heavy stone slab at the exit. "How do we get up there?" Zhang Baolian asked.
"Stand back, I can blast it open with a palm strike," Gu Xiangnan said, rolling up his sleeves.
Yang Dianfeng held him back, saying, "Brother, that would make too much noise and alert the enemy. Let's see if we can find a switch first."
The white figure pointed to the wall and said, "The switch is on the wall."
Gu Xiangnan walked over to the wall and began to feel around carefully. It was rough and uneven, filled with chunks of dirt and hard rocks. He touched a stone. It was smooth—different from the rest.
Gu Xiangnan focused, trying to rotate it. With a crisp click, the entire stone slab began to rise slowly. Sunlight streamed in, and a breath of fresh air rushed into the tunnel.
Gu Xiangnan stepped out first. He stood there, frozen in place.
"Xiaonan, what’s out there?" Zhang Baolian asked, feeling uneasy.
When she and Yang Dianfeng emerged, they too stood still. The sight before them made their eyes go wide. They were standing in a graveyard!
