Chapter 117: Come at Me Instead

Ye Yaoyao was feeling hungry, so she couldn't help but finish her bento box.

As soon as she finished, Ye Shen pushed the door open and walked in. Ye Yaoyao felt the corners of her mouth twitch involuntarily as she cast a complicated look between him and Shen Tiantian.

"Mr. Ye, I've finished my bento."

Ye Shen adjusted his glasses but said nothing.

Shen Tiantian immediately walked over, picked up the empty bento box, and said, "I'll be going now, Sister Yaoyao."

"Alright."

Ye Yaoyao watched Shen Tiantian leave. Once they were alone in the office, she teased Ye Shen, "Brother, she's gone now. Stop staring blankly."

Ye Shen’s expression remained unchanged, but Ye Yaoyao could still sense the melancholy in his eyes.

Their relationship was becoming increasingly ambiguous, and Shen Tiantian had started to feel reluctant to visit the Ye Corporation. To avoid Ye Shen, she racked her brain and finally came up with a solution. That evening, when Ye Yaoyao returned, Shen Tiantian suggested they go out for some shopping.

Under normal circumstances, Ye Yaoyao would have refused without hesitation. After all, Shen Tiantian was Shen Yan's sister, and she preferred to keep her distance. However, seeing the strange dynamic developing between Shen Tiantian and Ye Shen recently, Ye Yaoyao chose to go for her brother's sake.

Upon receiving consent, Shen Tiantian jumped for joy. Looking at her childish face, Ye Yaoyao couldn't help but think that Ye Shen was in for some trouble.

At the mall, Shen Tiantian followed Ye Yaoyao obediently, her eyes shining with admiration. This was wonderful! She was shopping with her goddess!

Ye Yaoyao wasn't in a hurry to get to "Three Y"; she wandered through the neighboring clothing stores instead. The new collection launch for Three Y was approaching, and while she had already finished her designs, she felt some details could be polished and wanted to find some inspiration.

Seeing Ye Yaoyao’s eyes glued to the clothing, Shen Tiantian assumed she was looking to buy something and eagerly grabbed her arm.

"Sister Yaoyao, if you want to buy clothes, we should go to Three Y. Their clothes are much better." Shen Tiantian was a huge fan of the brand. "I don't know which angel designed for Three Y, but they are just so talented!"

With that, she tugged Ye Yaoyao toward the store. Ye Yaoyao was already used to being complimented. She stood still and said, "No rush, let’s look around here first."

"Okay!" Shen Tiantian nodded submissively, trailing behind her. Whatever the goddess said was right!

However, in the eyes of others, her behavior looked like that of a sycophant. Just as they were about to walk into a store, a scornful laugh rang out. They turned to see a wealthy young man dressed in high-end fashion, followed by a few lackeys, staring intensely at Shen Tiantian.

Ye Yaoyao immediately understood the situation. She had seen this kind of thing before.

"Little Potato, you rushed back to the country just to be someone else's lapdog?"

The man was Gu Shengyu, one of Shen Tiantian’s suitors. He had been eyeing her, only for her to suddenly return home. Gu Shengyu felt she was avoiding him, so he followed her back. After hearing about her recent behavior, he was even more furious. She had ignored his advances only to fawn over another woman. Could it be that Shen Tiantian was... a lesbian? If that were true, he would be even angrier; he would feel like he was being played.

*Little Potato?* Ye Yaoyao looked at the man and then at Shen Tiantian. Shen Tiantian was about 1.6 meters tall, but this man... wasn't he only a little over 1.7 meters? How dared he call someone else a "Little Potato"?

"I'm a Little Potato? Then you must be paralyzed from the waist down."

Shen Tiantian unleashed her full attack power. She glared at Gu Shengyu, then hugged Ye Yaoyao’s arm and walked inside, saying, "Sister Yaoyao, let's go in. Don't pay him any attention!"

"Alright." Ye Yaoyao shot Gu Shengyu a cold glance.

Being insulted in front of his lackeys made Gu Shengyu feel humiliated; his anger flared up. As he chased after them, Ye Yaoyao caught a glimpse of him out of the corner of her eye and subtly nudged the edge of the carpet upward. Gu Shengyu tripped perfectly.

*Thud!*

"Ah!"

The sound of a body hitting the floor was accompanied by the man’s pained scream.

Seeing this, Shen Tiantian couldn't help but look back and laugh. "I told you you were paralyzed, didn't I? How do you just kneel down while walking?"

Gu Shengyu looked up, glared at her fiercely, and then roared at his lackeys without looking back. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and help me up!"

With the help of his group, Gu Shengyu scrambled to his feet. Shen Tiantian’s laughter grew even more mocking. "Hah, you can’t even get up after a fall without help. If that’s not being paralyzed, what is?"

"Shen Tiantian!" Gu Shengyu was so angry he felt like he might pass out.

Ye Yaoyao pulled Shen Tiantian back, shielding her. "If you’re feeling so confident, it must be because your center of gravity is so low, right?"

Before Gu Shengyu could react, Ye Yaoyao added coldly, "There are so many people around. You don't own this mall, so why are you shouting and screaming? Do you expect others not to shop?"

"This mall *is* owned by my family, and this clothing store is mine!" Gu Shengyu had been looking for a chance to flaunt his wealth, and since Ye Yaoyao had handed it to him on a silver platter, he naturally took the opportunity. "I can do whatever I want here. Do you believe I can have you..." *kicked out?*

Ye Yaoyao didn't want to hear the rest. She pulled Shen Tiantian toward the exit. She had already glanced around and realized the store’s taste was poor; it had no value as a reference for her.

The sudden turn of events caught Gu Shengyu off guard. *These two...*

With so many people watching, Gu Shengyu couldn't swallow his pride. He clenched his fists and roared at their departing backs, "You two, stop right there!"

Ye Yaoyao didn't break her stride, pulling Shen Tiantian along with her. Gu Shengyu, being an impatient person, rushed forward and grabbed Ye Yaoyao’s hand.

Ye Yaoyao’s survival instinct triggered instantly. She grabbed Gu Shengyu’s wrist and flipped him onto the floor without a second thought.

Once again, the sound of a body making intimate contact with the floor echoed through the room. Gu Shengyu bit his lip, struggling to keep his screams to a minimum. After the previous incident, his lackeys rushed over to surround and lift him up.

"Sorry about that, just a reflex," Ye Yaoyao said with a fake smile.

Shen Tiantian looked on with starry eyes, feeling once again how cool Ye Yaoyao was!

Gu Shengyu glared furiously at Ye Yaoyao, his attention shifting from Shen Tiantian to her. "I know you. You're that woman who climbed the corporate ladder by using her body."

Ye Yaoyao: "?"

Whatever.

"So, now that you've been thrown to the ground by me, do you have any closing remarks?" Ye Yaoyao mocked.

"Shen Tiantian." Gu Shengyu looked at Ye Yaoyao but addressed Shen Tiantian. "You’re a top student in a coding major. You delayed your studies to return home, and this... this is the kind of person you’re sucking up to?"

"Gu Shengyu, if you have a problem, take it up with me. Don't you dare slander Sister Yaoyao."
