Chapter 105: We Are People of Feeling

Shen Yan did not rush to answer. He guessed that she must have known Yu Wanqing was also preparing for this project, which was why she didn't want to take it on herself. Yet, this was a project Shen Yan was determined to win.

"Among all the companies, I possess the greatest capability."

Upon hearing this, Ye Yaoyao simply smiled—a smile that made Shen Yan feel quite uncomfortable. After dinner, Shen Yan gathered the dishes, intending to wash them, but found himself under Ye Yaoyao’s intense gaze.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"I'm seeing how much longer you intend to stay here."

"I’m leaving as soon as I finish the dishes," Shen Yan replied, feeling aggrieved. It was truly absurd! It was rare for him to want to do housework, and yet he was being treated with such disdain by this woman.

Ye Yaoyao clearly did not believe him; she continued to watch his every move closely. Under her scrutiny, Shen Yan’s temper flared. He abruptly pushed the dishes aside and said, "Then wash them yourself." With that, he turned and left. Ye Yaoyao made no move to stop him.

Shen Yan was a man of pride; once he said he wouldn't come, he really didn't. For several days in a row, when Ye Yaoyao returned home, the place was empty. She couldn't adjust to it for a while, and she felt a hollow sensation in her heart as well.

Ye Yaoyao shook her head, trying to chase away the strange emotions in her mind. She went into the kitchen to wash vegetables and cook, and her mood was slightly healed. However, when she sat at the table to eat, she couldn't help but recall the scenes when Shen Yan was there.

"What do you plan to do after you are discharged?" Ye Yaoyao asked, trying to strike up a conversation.

Hearing this, Feng Yuqi looked at her and smiled. "Naturally, I'll go back to being Brother Yan’s assistant. What else would I do?"

Ye Yaoyao nodded. That made sense; she had asked a meaningless question.

Time passed quickly, and soon it was the day of the project bidding. Yu Wanqing was incredibly nervous and insisted that Ye Yaoyao accompany her. Seeing her like this, Ye Yaoyao couldn't help but laugh. "This is the first time I've seen you like this. Where is that calm Yu Wanqing who remained composed no matter what happened?"

After Yu Wanqing went in, Ye Yaoyao got up and headed to the restroom. Seeing this, Shen Yan’s gaze followed her intently. She hadn't been seen for several days, yet this woman’s complexion was getting better and better. Unlike him... he had been working through the nights to secure this project, and he had even had to dress up specially to come out today. Of course, Ye Yaoyao could not brazenly wander into the office to listen to the proposals. She wandered around the restroom for a while before entering the office from the back. All the company representatives had finished their reports. The assistant’s eyes lit up when she saw her. "Ms. Ye, this is the summary. Please take a look..."

The assistant exclaimed in disbelief, "What?" Realizing her attitude was inappropriate, she immediately composed herself. "Ms. Ye, have you looked at the detailed comparison here?"

Ye Yaoyao immediately caught the hint of impropriety in her tone and said straightforwardly, "The representative for the Yu family is my best friend. I am going to abuse my power."
