Chapter 22: Ambiguity Is Also a Sin
Ding—
Target locked successfully. The firearm will jam within three minutes.
The system notification echoed in Chen Yufeng’s mind. Watching the enraged Linyao Liu, delight sparked in his heart. Now that the gun in your hand was nothing but a prop, what was there to fear? Ha!
“Take him away!”
Linyao Liu shot a murderous glare at this reckless troublemaker, not bothering with any more words, and signaled her subordinates to bring him back to the station.
But just then, her step faltered unexpectedly, and she lurched forward, crashing directly into Chen Yufeng standing before her.
Her firm chest pressed against his, sending a tingling sensation surging through his entire body.
“You little scoundrel, let go.”
“I didn’t even move my hands. You’re the one who came over and grabbed me. If anyone should let go, it’s you.” Chen Yufeng wore an innocent expression as he continued, “May I say something?”
“Out with it, quick.”
“Officer Beauty, your chest is really too much—it’s suffocating me.”
“You…”
Linyao Liu felt that this guy was teasing her on purpose. Few dared to flirt with her, and those who tried usually ended up suffering under her fists and feet.
She’d even kicked a man between the legs before.
There would be no exception today. The two male officers beside her, well aware of Linyao Liu’s temper and methods, exchanged glances. Once she lost her cool, someone was bound to suffer.
With her skills, dealing with three or five petty thugs was child’s play.
“Little pervert, take this!”
Linyao Liu retreated two steps, scoffing coldly, then lashed out with a high, sweeping kick aimed at Chen Yufeng’s chest—swift, ruthless, full of force.
Her long, slender legs, enough to make professional models envious, became lethal weapons. But unexpectedly, despite the ferocity of her attack, she didn’t land the kick.
Instead, her leg was caught.
Chen Yufeng seized the opportunity, pulling her leg, causing her entire body to fall against his. Her head, propelled by inertia, bumped into his, their lips nearly brushing.
Damn, just a little closer. What a missed chance.
A beauty like this—how sweet would she taste?
Chen Yufeng felt a pang of regret. If only their lips had met… Such an opportunity wasted.
Linyao Liu, on the other hand, was livid, her beautiful eyes blazing with fury as she pressed her gun against his head. But she noticed he didn’t seem frightened at all, remaining surprisingly composed.
So, you think I won’t shoot?
She glared at Chen Yufeng, her voice icy and stern. “You little punk, do you believe I won’t shoot you right now?”
“Officer Beauty, that’s not necessary, is it? You’re so lovely—you must be kind. How could you do something so brutal? It doesn’t match your beautiful face at all.”
Chen Yufeng was utterly unafraid. If you dare fire, I’ll make you lose control.
“For shameless scoundrels like you, brutality is exactly what you deserve,” Linyao Liu snapped coldly.
Seeing his utterly unrepentant demeanor, her already bad temper flared into full-blown rage.
Did he think her gun was just for show?
To challenge her like this—he was asking for death.
A cold smile curled her lips as her finger squeezed the trigger. She didn’t aim at his head, but shifted her aim slightly, trusting in her marksmanship to let the bullet graze past his ear.
Normally, anyone in this situation would be scared witless or collapse on the spot. Even if this scoundrel was tough, he should at least be shaken.
Click—
The gun fired, but to her dismay, her service weapon jammed at that very moment, no shot discharged.
Cursing inwardly, she re-cocked and tried again—only for it to jam once more.
Two jams in ten seconds—something that had never happened before. What on earth was going on?
While Linyao Liu was still bewildered, Chen Yufeng had already wrapped an arm around her slender waist. She shuddered; instinctively, she lashed out with fists and feet, but against Chen Yufeng, now protected by the Golden Arhat Body, her attacks were utterly ineffective.
“Kid, stop right there!”
The two patrolmen, recovering from their shock, rushed to intervene. Their skills were decent among ordinary folk, enough against typical lowlifes, but facing a Golden Arhat was like throwing eggs at a rock. Chen Yufeng kicked each of them aside with ease.
The two officers lay on the ground, staring in disbelief at the handsome face before them.
His speed was terrifying and his strength immense—they’d had no chance to fight back.
He looked no older than twenty, so how could he possibly have such skill?
“Who… Who are you really?” Linyao Liu, seeing her two battle-hardened subordinates felled in an instant, was equally stunned. This man’s abilities were beyond belief.
And, as if fate itself was against her, her gun had jammed twice in a row. Why was she so unlucky?
She could never have guessed that from her slip to the gun jams, everything was the result of the bad luck skill Chen Yufeng had bought from the Divine Market.
“Officer Beauty, your face is lovely, but you have too many thorns—I’ll have to remove a few.” Chen Yufeng grinned, his hands landing boldly on Linyao Liu’s firm, shapely rear, giving it a few appreciative pats. The sensation was exquisite, a fire stirring in his lower abdomen.
Though tempted, he forced himself to hold back in this situation.
“Do you have a death wish?” Linyao Liu glared at him, gritting her teeth in fury. She’d never been so humiliated—her delicate body groped with no way to resist.
She was seething with frustration.
“I hate being threatened. If it were anyone else, I’d beat them senseless. But you’re too pretty, Officer Beauty—I can’t bear to harm such a flower. You’ll just get a small lesson.”
As he spoke, Chen Yufeng’s large hands hovered suggestively before her chest, as if about to grab her.
She panicked, shouting angrily, “You pervert! If you dare touch me, I’ll never let you go. Next time I catch you, you’re dead!”
“Come on, I’m just joking. Why so tense? I’m not interested in you.”
In the end, Chen Yufeng merely pinched her cheek a few times. Even so, Linyao Liu felt deeply humiliated. Any man who dared lay a finger on her had always been beaten on the spot.
Now, she could only glare helplessly.
What infuriated her most was his words. She’d come all the way here to catch lowlifes, yet he claimed he wasn’t interested in her—implying she was less appealing than a parlor girl?
Unbearable shame.
