Chapter 141: Old Ginger Is Spicier
*Slap! Slap! Slap!*
Chen Yufeng swung his hands left and right, raining blows continuously upon Kong Zehao’s face. He did not stop until the handsome face had been beaten into a swollen, pig-like mess and several teeth had been sent flying. Then, he planted his foot firmly onto Kong Zehao’s chest, leaving a footprint as a mark. With a cold expression, he looked down at him.
"I am only giving you a small lesson today. I hope you’ll remember it and stop provoking me. When I get angry, the consequences are very severe. Do you understand?"
"You..."
Kong Zehao was in agonizing pain, unable to even speak; he could only glare at Chen Yufeng with seething hatred.
After disciplining him, Chen Yufeng turned his attention to Kong Tianxiang and warned him sternly: "Your son lacks common sense. If he continues like this, he will lose his life sooner or later. I’ve helped you teach him a lesson today; I hope it does him some good. As for you, you don't seem very sensible either. I originally intended to teach you a lesson as well. However, I am a good youth who respects the elderly and cherishes the young, so I’ll let it slide today given your age. But it is necessary to remind you: I am someone you cannot afford to provoke. If you are wise, you will back off, and this matter will be over. I won't pursue it further. But if you make any more moves against me, your Kong family will not be able to withstand my wrath. Just as you usually bully weaker factions—they dare not do anything to you and can only swallow their bitterness when bullied—today, I am bullying you, and you must swallow your resentment as well. Besides, it was your Kong family that provoked me first. I have a good temper, so I am only giving you a small warning!"
After saying this, Chen Yufeng released the pressure points on Kong Tianxiang. Chen Yufeng was certainly not afraid of Kong Tianxiang calling for backup; the two or three hundred bodyguards within the estate were not enough to make him break a sweat.
Having witnessed Chen Yufeng’s prowess and suspecting his background, Kong Tianxiang did not lash out on the spot, nor did he call for his men. He struggled to calm the turmoil in his heart and asked tentatively, "May I ask which ancient martial arts sect or family you hail from?"
"Oh?" Chen Yufeng was slightly taken aback. He hadn't expected Kong Tianxiang to mistake him for a disciple of some ancient martial arts sect based on his fighting style, let alone that he even knew of such circles. *He is quite the character,* he thought, *even I didn't know about those.*
After a few seconds of silence, Chen Yufeng looked at him, his expression softening into a grin. "Your eye for talent isn't bad. You’re right, I practice ancient martial arts. But I have no sect and no affiliation; I’m just a self-taught rogue cultivator. Why? Are you interested in learning? If you are, I can let bygones be bygones and teach you a few moves, though the tuition is a bit steep!"
"No sect or affiliation?" Kong Tianxiang’s heart sank slightly. He suppressed his rising fury and replied offhandedly, "That won't be necessary. You should leave now; we will call our debts settled."
"Dad, kill him..." Kong Zehao was unwilling to let Chen Yufeng walk away just like that.
"Shut up, you useless waste!" Kong Tianxiang scolded Kong Zehao in front of Chen Yufeng. Looking at his son now, he felt a deep sense of disappointment. *Compared to this young man, you are like a worm compared to a dragon.* Although Chen Yufeng was a man Kong Tianxiang was determined to kill, he couldn't help but admire the youth’s exceptional skill and daring; this was the kind of person meant for great things.
Chen Yufeng, not wanting to linger, strode out of the ancestral hall.
"Wait!" Just as Chen Yufeng stepped out of the threshold of the Kong family ancestral hall, Kong Tianxiang called out to him.
Chen Yufeng turned around and asked, "What? Are you reluctant to see me go?"
"Little brother, you certainly know how to joke. How about this? I’ll have someone drive you out so you don't have to walk; it’s quite a distance, isn't it?"
"Hmm, you have a point."
"Then, little brother, please take a seat in the gazebo outside. I’ll arrange for someone to drive you."
"Fine. Given your sincerity, I shouldn't be rude, should I?" Chen Yufeng looked at Kong Tianxiang, shook his hand, and added with a warning tone, "I hope we have truly turned over a new leaf and that you won't be plotting any revenge against me."
"Little brother, you’re joking," Kong Tianxiang said with a gentle smile. "I, Kong, admire young people with such exceptional skill and courage. Besides, I am not a man without capacity. Let this matter pass; from now on, we will mind our own business."
"If that’s how you feel, then nothing could be better. We shall all be at peace."
Chen Yufeng was actually trying to save him by having this conversation, hoping he wouldn't be foolish enough to seek revenge. While his temper was good, his patience had limits. He was giving them a chance. If they didn't cherish it, his wrath would inevitably consume the Kong family. By then, they wouldn't even have the chance to regret it.
Chen Yufeng then went to sit in the gazebo as requested.
Kong Zehao, completely unwilling to let his enemy walk away, whispered to his father once Chen Yufeng was out of earshot: "Dad, are you really going to let someone drive that brat out?"
"He is the enemy who killed brother, and he just slapped my face in front of you—isn't that a slap in your face too? I can't accept letting him go. We have so many men in this estate; are we really afraid we can't kill him?"
"Stupid." Kong Tianxiang pointed at his head and scolded him. "Is there anything in that head of yours besides women? Do you think I don't know he killed Zetao? Do you think I don't know he slapped my face? Do you really think I’m letting him leave just like that?"
"Dad, what do you mean?" Kong Zehao was confused.
"Do you know why I sent someone to drive him?"
"Please, enlighten me, Dad."
"Hmph, you are truly foolish. Why can't you learn even a bit of my cunning?" Kong Tianxiang shook his head in disappointment and said with a sinister glint in his eyes, "I am sending him on his way—to the afterlife."
"To the afterlife?" Kong Zehao’s eyes widened.
Without further ado, Kong Tianxiang ordered, "Go quickly, hide explosives in the car, then have someone drive him out. Follow behind in another car, and when the timing is right, press the remote to detonate it. Blow that brat into nothingness, leave not a single bone or trace of ash."
"Oh? I understand now! So that’s the plan." Kong Zehao’s face lit up with realization, and he gave a thumbs-up. "No wonder they say ginger gets spicier with age. Dad, your plan is truly brilliant!"
"What are you standing there for? Go prepare! I’m letting you avenge Zetao with your own hands."
"Yes! I’m going right now!"
Excited, Kong Zehao didn't hesitate. He fetched a bundle of explosives and hid them under the rear seat of a black Toyota. Given the power of the explosives, it would surely blow the car into fragments, let alone the person sitting inside. There would be nothing left but blood and debris.
Once everything was ready, he immediately arranged for a bodyguard to drive Chen Yufeng out. The driver, of course, was completely oblivious and would lose his life in the process. But to the Kongs, the life of a single bodyguard meant nothing.
