Chapter 64: Captured Once Again

After obtaining the backup of the Galaxy Power gene at the secret base on the Black Great Wall, Yunyang returned to North Star. He informed Old Li that he would be away for a while, and then headed back to North Star.

At this time, Ge Xiaolun was once again playing with his wings, flying all over the place. However, this time, it wasn’t Zhao Xin watching from below, but rather Qilin, her eyes filled with envy.

The moment Yunyang entered, he saw Qilin and, recalling the video incident, felt a bit awkward, clearing his throat.

"Uh, Qilin, you’re here too."

"Yeah, there’s no mission today." Seeing that it was Yunyang, Qilin also looked a bit uncomfortable, glancing away, not daring to meet his eyes.

"A bit of rest does everyone good. I’m here today to talk to Xiaolun about something." Noting Qilin’s evasive gaze, Yunyang realized he was the reason for her embarrassment and decided to get straight to the point.

"Alright then. Xiaolun, someone’s here to see you!" To ease her own discomfort, Qilin called up to Ge Xiaolun, who was still obliviously flying above.

Hearing Qilin call, Ge Xiaolun dove down and landed behind her. Only then did he notice Yunyang was there. He cleared his throat and joked, "Lieutenant Yun, is there a mission?"

"Chief Ge, there is indeed a mission."

Qilin couldn’t help but burst into laughter at their banter.

Noticing both of them look her way, she waved her hand and said, "I’ve had professional training, I don’t laugh—unless I can’t help it."

"Hahahaha—" Yunyang and Xiaolun couldn’t hold back either and joined in the laughter.

After a while, Ge Xiaolun patted Yunyang on the shoulder. "So, what’s the mission?"

Given the light-hearted mood, Ge Xiaolun figured it couldn’t be anything too urgent, but he was still curious.

Qilin also leaned in, her eyes bright and expectant.

"An official visit to Angel Civilization. Interested?" Yunyang offered a more formal explanation, otherwise, it wouldn’t really count as a mission.

"Visit Angel Civilization? Aren’t all the Sky Blades above North Star now?" Qilin was puzzled. The angels were already here, and everyone had been to the Sky Blade. Was there really a need for a visit?

"What do you mean?" Ge Xiaolun, thinking further, probed uncertainly.

"I need to go to Angel Civilization and want to bring someone along. Interested?" Yunyang didn’t bother keeping them in suspense.

"Count me out; there’s still unfinished business on Earth," Qilin waved her hand, declining.

"Should I apply?" Ge Xiaolun’s eyes lit up. Angels were all beautiful women! A trip to their world would be even better. Besides, Yan wasn’t on the Sky Blade; she must be in Angel City.

"Go ahead. Once you’re cleared, we’ll leave." Yunyang had intended to bring Ge Xiaolun anyway, so he let him apply without further explanation.

Ten minutes later, Ge Xiaolun flew back, seeing Yunyang and Qilin chatting over tea. He found it odd—weren’t they just awkward a moment ago?

But he didn’t dwell on it. After apologizing to Qilin, he grabbed Yunyang and flew to Sky Blade Seven.

"Ah Zhui, we’re heading to Angel City. Can you open a portal for us?"

Yunyang stated their purpose to Ah Zhui, who was chatting with Earth’s researchers.

"Come with me. The Queen has already told me." Although she found it strange—the Queen had only mentioned Yunyang going to Angel City, but now Galaxy Power was coming too—she didn’t ask further and led them to the wormhole gate.

Facing the blue wormhole, Ge Xiaolun was excited—beyond it lay Angel City, and all those beautiful angels… No, Yan, here I come.

"He seems more excited than I am," Yunyang nudged Ah Zhui.

"After all, it is the highest known civilization in the universe. Who wouldn’t be excited?" Ah Zhui replied matter-of-factly.

"I think he’s just looking forward to seeing the angels in Angel City."

Up ahead, Ge Xiaolun didn’t hear their conversation. He just turned and shouted, "Yun, hurry up! It’s only a few steps, why are you so slow?"

A minute later, Yunyang and Ge Xiaolun were transported onto the familiar disc. Since it was Xiaolun’s first time here, he looked around curiously and immediately spotted the enormous, eye-catching spiked sphere.

He turned, a bit stunned. "Is that Angel City? Such a huge spiked ball?"

Hearing Ge Xiaolun’s nickname for Merlot Heaven, Yunyang couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie—apparently, they both thought alike at first glance. He slung an arm over Xiaolun’s shoulder and said, "Yes, that’s the famous Merlot Spiked Ball. Good eye."

Before Xiaolun could reply, a pillar of fiery red light fell behind them, and an angel emerged.

"In Merlot Heaven, you must learn respect!"

A voice brimming with anger sounded from behind, making them turn around.

"You again!"

The angel warrior, seeing who it was, recognized the black-armored man who’d previously called Merlot Heaven a spiked ball.

Her anger flared even more. Last time, she’d let it go since ignorance could be forgiven, but now he’d come back—and brought another black-armored man to mock her home. This was unforgivable. She immediately summoned her Flaming Sword.

"Hi, what a coincidence," Yunyang awkwardly greeted her. Being caught twice for the same thing by the same person was truly embarrassing.

"Oh, it’s a coincidence, all right. Watch me teach you a lesson," the angel sneered.

"You know each other?" Ge Xiaolun was confused by their interaction. Yunyang sure knew a lot of angels.

"Of course we do," the angel said coldly.

"Hahaha, yes, we know each other," Yunyang laughed awkwardly.

"Draw your sword, boy," the angel warrior demanded, intent on putting Yunyang in his place.

"Wait, wait, I’m here at your Queen’s invitation!" Yunyang hurriedly explained, seeing the angel itching for a fight.

"The Queen? Yan?" The angel paused, puzzled.

"Yes, your Queen Yan," Ge Xiaolun answered before Yunyang could.

"Hmph, even Yan can’t protect you. Have at you!"

As an angel over ten thousand years old, she wasn’t fully convinced by Queen Yan’s leadership and wasn’t about to give her face now. She charged at Yunyang.

Seeing the Flaming Sword coming at him, Yunyang didn’t dare delay. He dodged behind Ge Xiaolun and shouted, "Wait, wait, not Yan—Heavenly Base Queen!"

"Heavenly Base Queen? Fine, I’ll take you to her. But if you’re lying, you’re both finished!"

Seeing the angel stop, Yunyang quickly raised his hands. "Really, we’re not lying."

In the Heavenly Base Queen’s castle, He Xi put down her tea, fuming as she spoke to Keisha. "That boy is using me as a shield! When I deal with him later, don’t get in my way."

"He brought this on himself. Serves him right," Keisha waved her hand indifferently.

Ge Xiaolun stole a glance at the angel glaring at them as if they were prisoners and whispered to Yunyang, "Yun, it really was the Heavenly Base Queen who called you here, right?"

"Of course. Don’t worry." In Yunyang’s view, Keisha’s involvement was a secret; so to outsiders, he’d say He Xi summoned him.

"Good, I really don’t want to be chopped up by angels in Angel City. With this many angels, they’d slice us into eight pieces."

Reassured by Yunyang, Ge Xiaolun relaxed and even cracked a joke.

The angel warrior, sword in hand, followed them toward the Heavenly Base Queen’s castle, now mostly convinced by Yunyang’s confident demeanor.

Soon, the three arrived at the castle gates. He Xi sent a message to the angels watching over Yunyang and Ge Xiaolun.

Although annoyed, the angel warrior put away her Flaming Sword with a glare. "This time, I’ll let you off. But if I catch you badmouthing Merlot Heaven again, I’ll make you pay. Hmph!"

Inside the grand castle, Ge Xiaolun was astonished by the luxurious elegance—and the beauty of the two angels present.

"You’re pretty quick. Follow me," He Xi didn’t ask them to sit, but headed straight to the laboratory.

Yunyang noticed Ge Xiaolun sneaking glances at the angels’ legs and could only drag him along.

As soon as they entered the laboratory, the door slammed shut with a loud "clang," startling them both. But they assumed it was just for security.

"Your wings—let me have a look."

Rubbing his hands together, Yunyang hurried to the lab bench and addressed He Xi and Keisha.

Ignoring Yunyang, He Xi turned to Ge Xiaolun with a strange tone. "So this is Galaxy Power. I didn’t expect you to manage it. I asked you to bring back the gene backup, but you brought the real deal."

He Xi’s cryptic words left Yunyang bewildered. He scratched his nose and replied, "Yes, this is Ge Xiaolun, the Galaxy Power."

"Even better. Just cut off his wings and I’ll attach them to you," He Xi said mischievously.

"What the hell?! Yunyang, I can’t believe you’d do this. I have no brother like you!" Ge Xiaolun exploded at He Xi’s words, his face dark with anger. He’d come to Angel City as a favor, not realizing Yunyang was after his wings.

"Wait, are the wings made that way? I don’t want them anymore, alright?" Yunyang, flustered by Xiaolun’s reaction, gave him a reassuring look and replied awkwardly.

"Can’t do it? I can help you," He Xi said coolly.

Ge Xiaolun’s briefly relieved expression darkened again, and he edged closer to the door.
