Chapter 145: Evil
Chapter 145: Evil
Half a month later, Yun Yang was playing Landlord with Rose and Keisha when Azhui arrived.
She brought him the wonderful news that it was time for him to get back to work. To be honest, Yun Yang was stunned. What was going on? How many days had he even been on vacation?
With no choice, he had to bid farewell to his life of leisure. Taking the private channel Morgana had given Rose, he appeared in the Solar System.
After thinking it over, he decided not to contact anyone else and simply dialed Morgana directly.
Before he could say a word, Morgana's voice came through.
“Bitch! Karl, how many times do I have to tell you? Stop hacking my private channel! Sooner or later, I’ll flatten the Styx.”
It could hardly be blamed on Morgana. She had never spoken with Yun Yang before, so naturally she assumed the unfamiliar number belonged to Karl.
Hearing her curse Karl, Yun Yang chuckled before replying.
“Agreed. I think Karl’s a bitch too. When you flatten the Styx, count me in.”
“Hm? You’re not Karl. Who are you?”
The moment she realized it was not Karl’s voice, Morgana asked warily. Her private channel was not something just anyone could access.
“You can’t tell?”
“Yun Yang?”
After a brief silence, Morgana asked uncertainly.
“Yeah, it’s me. Would you mind if I stopped by Demon One for a visit?”
Yun Yang stated his purpose directly. In the eyes of these godlike beings, he was probably still a complete novice.
“Bitch! You took Rose to the City of Angels. Who gave you permission?”
Once she had confirmed Yun Yang’s identity, Morgana immediately became furious and started swearing.
“Tch. Rose is my wife. I’ve settled down in the City of Angels. Why do you care so much?”
“I’m the one who made her genetic engine. Why do you think I care?”
“Oh? Does that come with after-sales service?”
Morgana took several deep breaths of fresh air before grinding out through clenched teeth, “Where are you? I’ll have Ato pick you up. We’ll sit down and talk.”
After Yun Yang gave her his coordinates, a wormhole opened in front of him in less than ten seconds, and Ato stepped out.
As soon as he emerged, he patted Yun Yang on the shoulder and said solemnly, “Brother, the queen is furious. Good luck.”
Yun Yang blinked. Since when had he and Ato become brothers? Was this what people meant by fighting first and becoming friends afterward?
He had no desire to strike someone who was smiling, so he said nothing and simply walked into the wormhole.
Behind him, Ato lingered for a moment, pity in his eyes.
Yun Yang understood why the instant he emerged from the wormhole.
A gigantic claw had seized him.
Seeing Yun Yang caught in her grasp, a look of bewilderment still on his face, Morgana revealed a smile of vengeance fulfilled.
“Kid, you’re getting awfully cocky.”
Yun Yang finally realized his predicament and forced an ugly smile.
“How am I being cocky?”
To Morgana, those words sounded like pure mockery. Her expression darkened, and the demonic claw slammed him violently into the ground.
With a thunderous crash, the floor that had only recently been repaired was smashed apart by Yun Yang once more.
Yun Yang rose, brushing the dust from his clothes. His usually mild temper had finally been provoked by the sudden attack.
Then he remembered why he had come. A sinister smile spread across his face, and the King’s Sword—hidden for a long time—appeared in his hand.
“Let’s have a fight. It’ll give me a chance to avenge the time you killed me.”
With that, he charged toward Morgana.
Morgana answered with a mocking smile and sent the demonic claw straight at him.
Just as it was about to reach him, Yun Yang brought down his sword. Of the claw’s four fingers, three were severed in a single stroke.
Without pausing, he continued toward Morgana.
Yet when the King’s Sword was about to strike her, Morgana vanished with a look of disdain.
Yun Yang did not slow down in the slightest. His sword crashed into the city wall some distance away.
A massive fissure split the wall. Only then did Yun Yang turn and charge into the air.
Thus began his entanglement with Morgana. He could neither defeat her nor afford to hold back, and the battlefield was soon reduced to utter ruin.
Another attack missed, and Yun Yang once again brought his sword down against the city wall.
The battered structure finally reached its limit. Amid a cloud of dust, it collapsed with a deafening roar.
Morgana finally understood.
This bastard was not here to fight. He was here to demolish the place.
His King’s Sword was even too much for her demonic claw to withstand. The realization left her rather annoyed.
Then her eyes suddenly brightened. The demonic claw that had been striking at Yun Yang came to a halt.
The claw stopped, but Yun Yang did not. He accelerated and reached Morgana in an instant.
His sword came down.
Morgana cried out in pain.
Yun Yang stared in surprise at the Morgana he had cleaved in two. He had assumed she could avoid the blow.
Before he could follow up with another strike, a dark cloud engulfed him as he turned around.
The cloud bound him fast. Only then did he realize that it was composed of countless tiny demonic claws.
At the same time, Morgana’s body slowly reformed. She rubbed her once-again-flat abdomen and turned to look at Yun Yang behind her.
“That really hurt. How did this King’s Sword become so powerful? My fourth-generation body felt like paper.”
As she spoke, she snatched the King’s Sword from Yun Yang’s hand and swung it at his arm.
With a sharp clang of metal, the sword bounced off Yun Yang’s arm.
“As expected, it has restrictions. What a bore.”
She tossed the King’s Sword to the ground.
Indeed, it had restrictions. The moment Morgana had taken hold of it, Yun Yang had disabled its ability to cut through anything in a single stroke.
This was nothing like his battle with Ato. This time, Yun Yang had been able to react in time.
“Now tell me. Why did you come to Demon One?”
Morgana patted the immobilized Yun Yang and nodded in satisfaction before asking.
Yun Yang did not answer. Instead, he glanced meaningfully at the delicate demonic claws wrapped around him.
“Could you let me go first? This is really uncomfortable.”
Morgana looked at his position and decided that talking like this was indeed inconvenient. She released the demonic claws holding him, and they vanished into miniature wormholes.
Yun Yang straightened his clothes, sat on a chunk of stone, and said, “It’s nothing major. I just wanted to show you an ability.”
“What ability?”
Morgana was puzzled. What sort of ability required him to make a special trip to show it to the Demon Queen?
“Hold out your hand.”
Yun Yang looked at the hand she had used to pat him.
Morgana did not understand, but she extended it anyway.
The instant her hand came forward, it severed cleanly at the wrist and dropped to the ground.
After a single furious “Bitch,” Yun Yang was kicked through the air.
He barely managed to stabilize himself and then saw the icy expression in Morgana’s eyes.
He paid it no mind. Instead, he lifted a section of shattered wall nearly as tall as a person.
“Now look at this.”
Morgana had only just reattached her severed hand when she saw the piece of wall in Yun Yang’s grasp weather like ancient stone, crumbling into powder and scattering away.
Her brows knitted. Clearly, the matter was more complicated than it appeared, though she still did not fully understand.
“What are you trying to say?”
“If I used this ability on Demon One, what do you think would happen?”
Yun Yang spread his hands, smugness written all over his face.
Morgana’s eyes darkened at first, but then she smiled.
“Your ability has that wide a range? You think I’m going to believe you?”
“Why don’t we test it?”
Before he had even finished speaking, the ruins of the collapsed wall began to weather away. A short while later, a breeze swept through and sent dust billowing across the sky.
Ato, standing nearby, was astonished. He could not imagine what kind of bizarre ability this was.
Yun Yang then shifted his gaze to the enormous demonic wings outside.
“If you don’t find that convincing enough, I can try it on those.”
Morgana cursed inwardly.
Being threatened by Karl was one thing, but now she was being threatened by this young brat as well.
She wanted nothing more than to defiantly tell him to go ahead and try. But she did not dare gamble with the outcome. Those wings were the demons’ only warship.
Unlike the angels, whose resources were vast enough for them to construct seven Skyblades, not to mention the entire Skybase series, the demons did not have the luxury of countless warships.
The thought made Morgana feel bitter. If nothing went wrong, Skyblade Eight would probably appear soon enough. After all, a new king had just ascended the throne.
But those belonged to someone else. She had only one Demon One, while Demon Two had not even made it past the planning stage.
She hurriedly waved her hands at Yun Yang.
“Wait! I believe you. Now tell me—what do you want?”
“Nothing much. I only wanted to show you what I can do. As long as you demons don’t cause trouble, I won’t cause trouble either.”
Yun Yang turned to Morgana with a beaming smile.
Morgana returned a stiff smile.
“Cause trouble? We demons have been resting lately. Don’t make things up.”
Once the two of them had reached an understanding, Yun Yang changed to a subject that interested him more.
“Queen Morgana, when you said you were going to flatten the Styx, did you mean it? I’m rather interested in that.”
Morgana looked speechless. Could this man really not tell that she had only been venting? Flatten the Styx? Did he honestly think Karl would simply let her do that?
Though she was complaining inwardly, what she said aloud was, “I have considered it. Why don’t you come work for me? Once you join me, we’ll go flatten the Styx together. After I retire, the two of you can become the supreme gods of the demon civilization. How does that sound? Think about it.”
As she spoke, Morgana slung an arm around Yun Yang’s shoulders, looking as though she were baring her very soul.
Yun Yang’s gaze was drawn to a certain snowy-white evil pressed against him, and only one thought occupied his mind.
Bigger than Rose’s.
It took a tremendous effort for him to force his eyes away. He replied disdainfully, “Demons have an awful reputation. I’m not becoming one of your supreme gods.”
“That’s fine. You two can always change your names later.”
Morgana waved the objection away.
“You can change them?”
“Of course. ‘Demons’ was just a name that bitch Keisha gave us. We only kept using it because it’s well known throughout the known universe.”
Morgana felt that she ought to educate the young man a little.
“What were you called before?”
Yun Yang’s curiosity was piqued.
