Chapter 133: The Power to Awe All Sides
Chapter 133: A Power to Intimidate All Sides
Hearing the icy tone in Qi Lin’s voice, Qilin felt a chill run down her spine, but she paid it no mind, switching her God-Punishment weapon back into sniper mode. She ignored the ground battlefield; having already surveyed it, she saw nothing but a barrage of guns and artillery, so she turned her gaze toward the distance.
Sure enough, on a hill behind them, Qi Lin spotted an old man in white robes with gold trim. Beside him lay a golden scepter, still sparking with residual arcs of electricity, which confirmed his identity.
"Bang." The God-Slaying Round tore through the wind. A flash of red light vanished in an instant, and the old man who controlled lightning collapsed to the ground.
"Leader, the Pope is dead. Sniped." The converted demon noticed the situation and issued a warning.
"Send in our Saber Special Forces. Tear Qi Lin apart!" The leader of the North Oath pondered for a moment, an idea forming instantly, and he issued the order.
"But those are our..." The converted demon hadn't even finished his sentence before the North Oath leader interrupted him, patting him on the shoulder.
"This is the closest we have ever been to becoming gods. Once the North Oath has its own god, why would we fear mere China?"
The North Oath leader had cleverly twisted the concept, substituting his own ascension for the elevation of the North Oath itself. However, the converted demons bought it; they said nothing more and released the Saber Special Forces.
These pure strength-based converted demons, not yet even first-generation, possessed no special abilities, relying solely on their formidable physiques for brute force. Yet, they carried specialized weapons, such as small hand cannons modeled after demonic hand cannons, which packed the power of grenades. Combined with their speed, they had been wreaking havoc on Earth for some time and had encountered few rivals; under their leadership, the Middle East had been easily overrun.
Having received their mission and knowing they were to deal with super-soldiers—and a pretty girl at that—they were as hyped as if they’d been injected with stimulants, rushing into the battlefield. Despite their excitement and their desire to give that young lady an unforgettable night, their military training from their days in the NATO forces remained intact. They executed various tactical formations without a hitch, even splitting into advancing squads to surround the super-soldiers.
Before long, they had entered the woods where the two women were hiding, their flanking maneuver bypassing Qi Lin’s surveillance. Because the gunfire at the front was chaotic, the two women did not notice the Saber Special Forces until the first squad had pushed within a 500-meter range.
Only then did the sharp-sensed Qi Lin discover them. She stopped monitoring the front and pulled Ruo Bing (Rose) along to evade.
Ruo Bing was startled by the sudden tug, but out of trust for Qi Lin, she followed her away from their original position. No sooner had they found cover than their previous spot was struck by several purple light-projectiles, detonating with immense power and felling a large tree.
"Did we get flanked and ambushed?"
"Yes, but it's not a big problem." Qi Lin raised the God-Punishment, took down one of the Saber Special Forces soldiers with a single shot, and said confidently.
"Mm, keep firing. I'll find us some cover," Ruo Bing said softly, placing a hand on Qi Lin’s shoulder after hearing her words.

Just as the two women were locked in a fierce battle, Yun Yang began to draw concentrated fire from the tanks. With over a hundred tanks firing simultaneously, Yun Yang relied on his superior speed to dodge most of the artillery. However, he was caught off guard by a few shells, and because he was unprepared, two rounds struck his wings simultaneously.
His center of gravity shattered, and he plunged headfirst into the ground, looking disheveled. The high-level converted demons of the North Oath saw this as an opportunity, and at the command of Monchi D. Murphy, they swarmed toward Yun Yang like starving tigers.
"Pah, pah, pah." Yun Yang had just spat out the dirt from his mouth when he heard the sound of several objects piercing the air behind him. He turned to look.
He saw five aggressive converted demons. He dodged the first, but as two others attacked simultaneously, Yun Yang was forced into a tactical roll. Before he could fully rise, the last two demons struck him in the abdomen with one punch each.
The heavy, forceful blows sent Yun Yang flying into the air. One of the converted demons bellowed downward, "This is not your battlefield! Continue the assault!"
As his voice fell, the North Oath members below hesitated for a moment, then, following some translations, abandoned the target in the sky and slowly continued their advance.
Yun Yang, now surrounded by the five converted demons, let out a soft chuckle. "Are you sure you aren't here to die?"
"Don't be arrogant! Die!" Before the words were out, a converted demon charged at him.
Yun Yang fluttered his wings, easily dodging the attack, and looked at the attacker with confusion. "You... were you Chinese? You’re even using idioms."
"Pah, this is the orthodox Shenhe language; it has nothing to do with Chinese," the converted demon said with a look of disdain.
Yun Yang was left speechless, muttering to himself: *Unbelievable. This guy says it has nothing to do with Chinese while using a Chinese idiom. Never have I seen such a shameless person!*
"Why waste time talking to him? Attack!" The North Oath leader, losing patience, issued the order.
Yun Yang’s eyes narrowed. Gripping his King's Sword, he charged at the leader. Because of the distance, Yun Yang’s sudden move lacked surprise. The leader did not hesitate, flapping his wings to dodge while tossing a dark energy orb at Yun Yang.
This time, Yun Yang did not dodge, confident in the durability of his body. He slashed through the dark energy orb, only to be swallowed by the resulting fireball.
Seeing this, the North Oath leader smiled. "I’ve heard that angels are arrogant, but I didn't realize they were also brainless."
The surrounding converted demons nodded in agreement, thinking the angel was a fool for taking a direct hit. Though they thought this, they didn't believe an angel would be killed by a single orb, so they raised their hands, fired four more, and retreated a few meters, fearing the angel might retaliate.
And indeed, Yun Yang was preparing to take one of them out.
However, instead of using his wings, he teleported directly behind one of the converted demons. A flash of cold light passed, and the unlucky fellow was decapitated by Yun Yang’s sword.
Seeing this, the North Oath leader roared, "He knows wormhole technology! Be careful!"
As he spoke, the remaining converted demons didn't hesitate, attacking Yun Yang with dark energy orbs in one hand and exposed bone spikes in the other. Having been beaten before due to poor close-combat skills, Yun Yang had grown significantly. He easily dodged the dark energy orbs and slashed down at the first demon charging toward him.
The converted demon reacted quickly, raising his right arm to block with his bone spike. Yun Yang did not change his move, slicing through the bone spike and, as he brushed past, swung the King's Sword fiercely into the demon's back.
Due to the momentum, the King's Sword bit deep into the demon's waist. Blood sprayed into the air as the demon let out a shrill scream and fell to the ground.
The remaining converted demons froze, not daring to advance. In a single exchange, they had lost two of their own—both second-generation super-soldiers. Even the dullest among them knew they were no match for this angel. Exchanging glances, they made a wide arc in the sky and fled at full speed without looking back.
Yun Yang looked down at the forest, where sporadic flashes of light were still appearing, and feeling concerned for the two women, he decided not to pursue the fleeing demons. Instead, he decapitated the one screaming on the ground, ending his misery.
He then flew above the tank formation. Watching the hundred-plus tanks, he drew his sword and decided to test his ability to induce decay in objects. Since this required no analysis, it took effect immediately. At first, there was no obvious result, but as Yun Yang disrupted the 15th tank, it suddenly suffered a catastrophic barrel failure the moment it fired. The turret was blown off, and a raging fire engulfed it; the crew inside was surely doomed.
That was only the beginning. One after another, the tanks began to malfunction—either becoming immobilized, experiencing barrel explosions, or having their ammunition detonate even without firing. Within ten minutes, over a hundred tanks were out of commission due to various accidents. Yun Yang found it almost surreal.
If this effect were so powerful that it could be used on a planet, wouldn't it trigger all sorts of disasters? Would all life living on it be extinguished by the wrath of nature? And if he used it on a star, could he trigger stellar instability, affecting the entire solar system? This was a power capable of terrifying the universe.
However, it consumed a lot of energy. To cause such mutations, Yun Yang had to constantly supply energy to maintain the process; to accelerate it, the energy demand grew exponentially. Controlling just over a hundred tanks had already drained 5% of his energy. He dared not imagine what a planet like Earth would do to him—would it drain him dry in an instant?
It probably would. Therefore, this could only be used as a deterrent against other civilizations and not as a conventional combat method. But if a civilization were truly blind enough to cause trouble—like the Taotie—Yun Yang could play a "hundred-year game." Since he couldn't sustain it in the short term, he would use time to reduce the consumption.
After all, a hundred years is nothing to a civilization, and to a god like Yun Yang, it was even less of a concern. But if he succeeded, that civilization’s home planet would transform from a cradle into hell, eventually turning into cosmic dust.
Just then, the sound of air being torn apart echoed through the sky. Transport planes belonging to China appeared on the horizon. They were painted in a black base with yellow highlights, looking highly technological—all equipment developed by the Black Wall based on the legacies of Deno.
