Chapter 121: Shall We Join Together? (Votes, Please—Desperately Asking)
Chapter 121: Want to Join Me?
“Hey, this angel sure knows how to talk. Aside from calling us ugly, which I think is inappropriate, everything else is actually praise for us,” one demon remarked.
“Exactly, I also feel that 'ugly' doesn’t quite fit us,” another chimed in.
“But compared to angels, we really are ugly,” a third admitted.
“We still have our Queen, though,” someone reminded.
“True, the Queen—the greatest evil in the known universe—is right here…”
Indeed, terms like ‘fallen’ and ‘evil’ are compliments among demons, for those are the ideals they worship. It’s akin to the followers of the god of light: the Abyss despises the harsh sunlight of the sun, yet its worshippers never resent the sun.
The angel maintained her martyr-like pose for some time, while the demons’ voices gradually quieted. Realizing she had not been slain, she cautiously opened her eyes to observe the situation. She was ready to flee, even if escaping meant certain death from suppressed dark energy. She had to get the news of her four captured sisters out.
Yet, a single sentence from Morgana shattered her hope.
Morgana listened to her, nodded approvingly, then produced her temporal prison cage.
“Throw them into this cage. Whoever obtains their oath of guardianship can release them on their own.”
The demons’ expressions shifted from excitement to despair. One bold demon couldn’t help but complain.
“Your Majesty, the oath of guardianship is too hard. We just want to indulge in their bodies.”
With that, others who shared this base thought readily agreed, heedless of the disdainful looks from their peers.
But Morgana was unmoved. Some demons even suggested they’d be satisfied with just that one angel.
Seeing these lecherous, low-ranking demons, Morgana’s anger flared. She pointed at herself coldly and demanded,
“Who am I?”
The demons were momentarily stunned, then quickly responded in unison,
“Queen Morgana!”
Clearly unsatisfied, Morgana gave them a hint.
“Your species.”
“Demon Queen Morgana!” they replied again.
“Previously!” Morgana snapped angrily.
“The Apocalypse King, Liang Bing,” they answered weakly.
“So your Queen’s views on love are the same as theirs. Without consent, you can do nothing, understood?” Liang Bing placed a hand on her waist, pointing at the angels.
Immediately, the previously rowdy demons sighed and reluctantly proceeded to usher the angels into the temporal cage.
Seeing their lecherous faces, Morgana covered her face but said nothing. After the angels were imprisoned, her own shackles were removed, and she became a golden canary in a cage.
Seven Blades of Heaven, Flower Bed.
A slumbering figure was suddenly awakened by a dark communication alert. Groggily, he glanced and saw it was from Rose.
“Rose, did you miss me or is there some demonic disturbance? First, a kiss, then you can tell me.”
“Go away, serious matters,” Rose replied, covering her face.
Upon hearing this, Yun Yang straightened up and asked solemnly,
“Go ahead, what’s the matter?”
Rose then updated Yun Yang on the captured angels’ situation, leaving him dumbfounded. Was this really how things were done? Was he going to have to visit Demon One to rescue the angels, and maybe take Rose out for a few days as well?
Soon after, Yun Yang arrived at the council hall and saw a worried Moy. He explained the situation, which shocked Moy deeply. Though her sisters were safe now, it didn’t guarantee they’d remain so.
As an angel, she understood the disdain angels held for demons. With their pride, angels would never speak kindly to demons. At best, they wouldn’t be openly hostile, but one wrong word could anger the Demon Queen, leading to consequences Moy dared not imagine or witness.
Since they had the intelligence, the angels out searching could return. They would discuss the rescue plan and then proceed.
The first to return was the angel Leng, wielding a flaming sword, declaring,
“The Seven Blades are closing in—we must act!”
As the angels returned one after another, Moy contacted Lian Feng, requesting assistance from the Male Soldiers unit. However, they still couldn’t locate Demon One, rendering any tactical plans useless. The Seven Blades had to continue their blind search.
The rescue operation hit a deadlock. Rose admitted she couldn’t reveal her whereabouts but asked Yun Yang to convey that she would do her best to protect those angels.
Though the angels had little faith in Rose’s protection, they appreciated it nonetheless.
Meanwhile, aboard Demon One, Rose sipped coffee with Liang Bing. Liang Bing noticed Rose’s dark communication and pursed her lips.
“Rose, who are you communicating with?”
“I’m not,” Rose answered vaguely, stirring her drink.
“I can feel it,” Liang Bing said, clearly unsatisfied.
“Fine, I’m talking to Yun Yang,” Rose admitted with a slight smirk and a shrug.
Liang Bing looked struck by lightning, her face saddened like an abandoned girl, pointing at Rose.
“Aren’t you supposed to dominate me? Isn’t one Demon Queen enough for you?”
Just then, the sound of a glass shattering echoed. Both turned toward the noise. The bartender had vanished, but they sensed someone hurriedly cleaning the shards behind the bar.
“Let him out for now. We’ll clean up later,” Rose said.
The bartender, relieved, moved to leave, but Morgana called him back. Her eyes flashed milky white, and the bartender suddenly felt he’d forgotten something. But with the Queen’s anger, forgetting didn’t matter; better to leave quickly.
Once he was gone, Liang Bing’s stern expression turned back to one of pitiful grievance.
Rose rolled her eyes and sipped her coffee.
“Your mood swings are so fake.”
“Am I? If you want to abandon me, go find that mistress,” Liang Bing said, tone steady but confident.
“Hey, you’re the mistress,” Rose replied, covering her face, exasperated.
“That’s not important. What’s important is, why is that mistress contacting you?” Liang Bing pressed.
After all, that mistress had recently fought alongside the angels. The demon brat she’d brought back even came with five little angels. That lump on her chest—anyone could guess what that meant. She just wanted confirmation.
“Oh, he said he missed me, wants to stay on Demon One a few days, then take a few ladies home,” Rose replied nonchalantly.
Liang Bing ignored the latter half of that sentence, the words ‘stay a few days’ echoing in her mind. She stood up in anger.
“That bitch, that mistress, she really doesn’t respect me, the Demon Queen. Let him come—I’ll beat him until even his mother won’t recognize him. Send him this coordinate; I’ll go get him.”
She handed Rose a coordinate.
Rose was stunned. Should she give it to Yun Yang? If Liang Bing struck suddenly, neither she nor Yun Yang might escape—Demon One was Liang Bing’s domain after all.
Liang Bing seemed to sense Rose’s worry and reassured her.
“Don’t worry. With you here, I won’t kill him—just rough him up a bit, no problem.”
“A devil’s promise, huh?” Rose said with a strange look.
“This is my first promise. Will you believe it?” Liang Bing met Rose’s gaze softly.
“I’m almost touched. I’ve already sent the coordinate. Hope you keep your word,” Yun Yang said upon receiving it.
Thus, a new battle plan unfolded aboard Seven Blades.
Meanwhile, Sumari appeared on an unknown flying ship, beside a weary Ruoning.
Sumari didn’t look at Ruoning but first bowed to Huaye.
“Thank you, my king.”
Huaye waved dismissively, signaling it was Ruoning’s merit. Sumari then thanked Ruoning.
After pleasantries, Sumari spoke.
“My king, this defeat was my fault. I underestimated the power of the galaxy. I accept punishment.”
Seeing Sumari kneel again, Huaye smiled slyly, helped him up, and said,
“A punishment there must be. Come to my chamber tonight; I’ll punish you properly.”
Sumari’s face stiffened. That wasn’t the punishment he had in mind, but he dared not refuse. He bowed his head in agreement.
Ruoning couldn’t help but grimace, utterly disgusted by Huaye’s fetish. But Huaye was king, upholding the order of the Celestial Palace, so there was nothing she could say.
Sumari stood behind Huaye, who suddenly seemed to remember something and called without turning,
“Did you use that… Savage Tide against Earth?”
“Yes, my king. It should enter the strike range in two days. Best case, it sinks several continents; worst case, it triggers earthquakes and tsunamis. The destructive power is the same either way,” Sumari replied in detail.
Huaye nodded, pulling Ruoning into his arms.
“My dear, I want to avenge my First General. Two days is too slow. Is there any way to speed it up?”
Ruoning calculated distances silently, then replied,
“They’re just mechanical constructs. Give me an hour, and I can bring them into range directly.”
“Good. My dear is amazing. Want to join me tonight?” Huaye kissed Ruoning’s cheek before speaking.
