Chapter 101: Can You Still Show Yourself?
Chapter 101: Are You Still Able to Show It?
Zhixin, having settled back onto the sofa, refilled the tea cups for the three of them. After carefully choosing her words, she shared her prediction that Hua Ye might soon arrive in Sky City, hinting to Heshan to prepare accordingly.
Heshan and Kaisha exchanged a glance upon hearing this, a trace of amusement flickering in their eyes. Heshan spoke first.
“Zhixin, do you think your teacher wouldn’t have anticipated this? Still, the fact that you considered it shows you’ve matured. Very impressive.”
“True enough,” Zhixin replied, self-deprecating. After all, she was only five hundred years old, while her teacher had lived thirty thousand years—and stood higher than her in every sense. Such matters were surely clearer to Heshan than to herself.
Kaisha, noticing the astonishment in Zhixin’s gaze, reached out to gently stroke her hair.
“There are nine layers of defense in Sky City. If any of the Heavenly Scum does arrive, they’ll be reduced to dust.”
She then lifted a strand of Zhixin’s hair, continuing, “Zhixin, your silver hair is... well, it actually looks quite nice.”
Kaisha had meant to say it seemed unfamiliar, but remembering her current persona—that of an elder angel who had only recently returned to Sky City and, supposedly, had never met Zhixin—she changed course, awkwardly complimenting the hair instead, preserving her role.
“Silver hair?” Zhixin whispered, conjuring a mirror before her. Surprise flashed in her eyes, soon replaced by a look of quiet grievance as she gazed at her teacher.
Heshan, seeing Zhixin’s expression, pinched her nose and declared righteously, “You are my disciple, the heir of the Heavenly Foundation King line. Silver hair is the proper tradition. Besides, you’re no longer part of the Sacred Right Wing. It’s time for a change.”
Kaisha rolled her eyes at this, giving Heshan’s own silver hair another glance.
While the castle’s inhabitants debated hair color in earnest, Yunyang was nearly exhausted. Pursued by a swarm of angelic older sisters, he had broken the sound barrier.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t go faster; no matter how quickly he ran, the angel sisters were always a fraction faster. This left Yunyang feeling utterly defeated. Each time he was caught, he endured a round of face-squeezing—his cheeks had been kneaded by countless hands.
The sisters, considerate in their own way, rotated their turns; those who had caught him stepped aside, smiling as they watched the others chase him.
Though their hands were soft, imagine a stoic man subjected to such treatment as if he were a cute girl—it was enough to drive Yunyang to the brink.
Eventually, unable to move any further, Yunyang stopped, turned, and cried out in despair, “Enough! You’re too much!”
Within five seconds, he was surrounded by angel sisters again. However, seeing his anguished expression, they refrained from further harassment.
“Little brother, we’re just playing with you. Getting angry isn’t right,” said a forceful blonde angel.
“Try having your face squeezed by over a hundred people!” Yunyang replied, still distraught, pointing to his reddened cheeks.
“Was the pressure too strong? Your face is all red,” another blonde angel said, feigning concern as she reached out to touch his face, her expression full of sympathy.
But Yunyang caught the sly squint of her eyes—he knew she was using concern as an excuse to squeeze his face again. He protested, “Don’t move! I’m fine!” pointing at her with alarm.
Not just her, but all the other angels paused at his words. Yunyang seized the opportunity, teleporting directly to Heshan’s castle entrance.
His sudden disappearance left most of the angel sisters with a milky haze in their eyes. Soon, those who had closed their Insight Eyes began to chatter.
“What was that ability?”
“No reaction from micro-wormholes.”
“This little brother is pretty impressive!”
“I think I like him even more now.”
At the entrance, Yunyang began pounding on the door in panic, nearly shouting for help.
After a few knocks, he received a covert communication—Kaisha’s voice, reminding him to call her “Kyle” and not to get her name wrong.
With this reminder, the doors opened. Yunyang rushed inside, peeking nervously around to ensure none of the angel sisters were lurking nearby.
He slammed the door shut, patted his chest in relief, changed hurriedly into fresh clothes, and strode deeper into the castle.
As for why he changed, his clothes had been wrinkled beyond recognition from all the squeezing. Don’t think they only kneaded his face; with so many hands, most ended up tugging at his clothes. Fortunately, his lower body had escaped their attentions.
As Yunyang entered the castle, Kaisha could see his actions. Watching him swap into athletic wear, a sly smile tugged at her lips.
With a flick of her fingers, her moon-white palace attire vanished, replaced by a casual outfit of white and blue.
Her sudden change left Heshan and Zhixin stunned, both staring at her in confusion.
Kaisha offered no explanation, just smiled faintly, gazing at the newly opened wormhole she had created—its other end leading to Heshan’s castle living room.
Heshan, seeing the wormhole, instantly understood the reason for Kaisha’s wardrobe change. Noticing her bare face—eye shadow gone, makeup now youthful—she looked all of eighteen or nineteen, a young girl.
This sight left Heshan’s heart in turmoil. My dear Kaisha is gone, she thought. She desperately wanted to pull Kaisha into her arms and ask what was so good about men, wasn’t her own little white crane lovable enough?
Yet, with Zhixin present, Heshan had to maintain her image as a teacher, restraining herself and keeping her thoughts hidden, determined not to cast a resentful glance at Kaisha.
Yunyang entered and saw three beauties on the sofa. His gaze lingered on Kaisha’s casual attire—her clothes, though bought on another planet, were curiously similar to Earth’s styles, making her look like the girl next door.
Heshan was beautiful, but as soon as Yunyang entered, she gave him no warmth. Her palace attire and icy expression made her seem unapproachable, and Yunyang felt like a stranger.
Zhixin, needless to say, was Zhao Xin’s beloved. Yet her sudden silver hair drew Yunyang’s attention for a moment.
He wondered if Zhao Xin had asked her to dye it; who knew Zhao Xin had such interesting tastes.
Once Yunyang sat, Heshan began, “I heard you killed a Heavenly Scum on Earth.”
Yunyang paused, recalling, “There was one on Earth, looked quite flamboyant.”
He mimed a delicate gesture, indicating just how flamboyant the Heavenly Scum appeared to him.
“That’s wonderful, I’ve long wanted him dead. Thank you,” Heshan said, her eyes flitting toward Kaisha to gauge her reaction.
Yunyang waved her thanks aside. “It’s nothing. They’re Heavenly Scum, enemies of angels. Earth has received help from angels, so as an Earthling, it’s only right I help angels in return.”
“Besides, with my connection to Kyle, and yours with Kyle, lending a hand is just a small favor.” He glanced at Kaisha as he spoke.
Heshan’s expression changed, her smile gentle. “What sort of connection do you two share?”
“We’re, of course, together…” At this point, Yunyang stumbled. What exactly was his relationship with Kaisha? Hard to describe.
Heshan gave Kaisha a meaningful look, silently suggesting that Yunyang hadn’t any designs on her.
“Sir, you saved me; I have no way to repay you,” Kaisha said, adopting the mannerisms she’d learned on the Cold Weapon Planet—Earth’s style from a thousand years ago—her voice delicate.
“Huh?” Yunyang was startled by this, unable to help his reaction.
“She wants to gift you a suit of armor,” Heshan interjected, her face darkening. Normally, the next line would be offering herself in gratitude; determined to keep her dear Kaisha from being claimed, Heshan spoke up.
“Hmm?” Yunyang sounded intrigued.
“Come with me,” Kaisha sighed. She had meant to tease Yunyang, but Heshan had ruined her fun. She stood and beckoned.
Once they reached an open space, Kaisha waved her hand, and a set of bright silver armor appeared before them.
Heshan showed no reaction—she had crafted it herself. Zhixin was equally calm; it was much like her own.
Only Yunyang’s face darkened, as he pointed to the lower part of the armor: “What’s this? A skirt?”
“To be precise, it’s called a skirt-plate,” Heshan explained, immediately picking up on Yunyang’s tone and understanding the issue.
“Kyle, don’t you think it’s too short?” Yunyang ignored Heshan, addressing Kaisha with an exasperated look.
“Is it?” Kaisha glanced at Zhixin’s armor and the one before her, innocence in her expression.
“I’m a man—isn’t that a problem?” Yunyang pointed to his face, then his thighs, gesturing helplessly.
“What, are you still able to show it?” Heshan teased, flicking her gaze to Yunyang’s lower half.
“I… forget it, I’d better not. I wouldn’t dare wear it anyway,” Yunyang muttered, unwilling to respond to Heshan, considering his situation.
…“Yoh-ho, it seems I’ve successfully signed the contract. I’m quite happy, hehe”…
