Chapter 152: The Arrival of the Golden Light Sect
"Who are you talking about? Is our Alliance Master really that shallow? The person you're describing is clearly yourself!"
Hearing this, Ziyan's temper flared instantly. The members of the Eagle Alliance were never known for having easygoing personalities.
Now, seeing Bai Feiyu's posture and the lecturing tone he was using with them, her anger was instantly ignited.
"Stop, stop, stop. Don't go looking for trouble. We definitely didn't come here to pick a fight."
Even Gu Tianxun found the situation a bit unbearable. To be honest, he really had come here wanting to discuss this matter with Bai Feiyu.
As a result, after being lectured so thoroughly by Bai Feiyu, he suddenly found the words stuck in his throat.
He had to admit that Bai Feiyu made some sense; clearly, when it came to using one's brain, Bai Feiyu was a cut above him.
However, Gu Tianxun's pride would never allow him to blurt out his true purpose so easily. With a quick roll of his eyes, he sat down and asked:
"Bai Feiyu, do you have any thoughts about this upcoming battle?"
"Or rather, how should we attack the enemy so they can truly feel our might?"
"How can we properly contribute to the State of Zhao?"
At these words, Bai Feiyu gave him another look that clearly said he was dealing with an idiot, and replied:
"First of all, we need the instructors' permission—that's one. Second, we've just arrived here, and since we need to follow orders, we aren't yet familiar with the overall war situation."
"As far as I know, this is just one battlefield among many."
"What we need to do right now is definitely not to reach for the stars in a single bound, but rather to carefully survey the terrain, discuss things with the officers, and ideally, achieve some solid results."
"The outcome of a war certainly doesn't rest on the shoulders of small fries like us. Do you understand?!"
Seeing Bai Feiyu acting as if he had swallowed a head full of steam, Gu Tianxun struggled to keep his composure, especially since Bai Feiyu was looking at him as though he were a complete fool.
And yet, he had originally only come with good intentions, simply failing to think things through completely.
After Bai Feiyu finished speaking, Gu Tianxun was suddenly struck by the overwhelming sensation of how incredibly stupid he had been.
Without another word, Gu Tianxun stood up and led the members of the Eagle Alliance away with their tails between their legs.
Right now, Bai Feiyu was essentially the person in charge here. After all, he had arrived the earliest, and his combat prowess was the highest. Left with no other choice, they had no option but to acknowledge his leadership.
If they were to pick a fight with Bai Feiyu over these trivial issues, everyone would undoubtedly assume they were deliberately stirring up trouble.
After all, as Gu Tianxun had heard, the only reason everyone was even able to eat proper meals was entirely thanks to Bai Feiyu.
Therefore, they felt utterly helpless against him.
Having finished scolding Gu Tianxun, Bai Feiyu stood up, swept his gaze across everyone, and said:
"Come on, come on! Take advantage of the fact that there's no battle going on right now to take a bath. We'll be fighting soon enough."
"Once the war truly begins, we won't have any time to wash up, so we might as well seize the opportunity now while we can."
With that, Bai Feiyu set an example by preparing a towel himself.
This spectacle left the disciples who had arrived just today utterly dumbfounded. What on earth was going on?
Taking a bath here? How was that even supposed to work?
Then, everyone watched in stunned silence as the first batch of disciples, who had arrived yesterday, pulled out basins, fetched some water themselves from the nearby stream, and carried it back to their tents to bathe.
Before leaving, Bai Feiyu cast a fierce, threatening glare at the newly arrived disciples:
"Don't you dare go messing up the stream just to find something to do, or the job of cleaning it out will fall squarely on your shoulders."
"Oh, and you're forbidden from bathing directly in the stream, because the water from that stream still has to be used for cooking."
"If you're thirsty, you can find your own water and boil it in the large cauldrons yourselves. That will do."
"Of course, you can also choose to take a bath if you want."
Seeing Bai Feiyu and the others immediately start bathing left everyone in a daze. This sequence of operations truly shocked them to the core.
They simply hadn't expected the conditions here to be so harsh.
Just as Gu Tianxun and his group had found some basins and were preparing to fetch some water to bathe, a group of disciples suddenly walked over.
This made the disciples of the Void Returning Sect somewhat curious, since virtually all of their sect's disciples who were assigned here should have already arrived.
True, they had come in three batches, but this was a crucial battlefield, so they had dispatched a larger number of elites here. While a single batch involved numerous flying boats, each boat had flown toward a different battlefield. Why were people arriving again now? Even if it were the fourth, fifth, or sixth batches, they certainly couldn't have arrived this quickly.
A moment later, everyone's realization dawned as they saw that the newcomers were none other than the disciples of the Golden Light Sect.
The Golden Light Sect disciples were equally bewildered; as soon as they stepped off the flying boat, they were simply told to come straight here.
Tents for the disciples of two sects had been prepared here, so upon arrival, they only needed to ask the people from the other sect.
However, upon arriving, they discovered that the people stationed here were actually from the Void Returning Sect.
This made quite a few disciples reluctant to interact with the Void Returning Sect members.
Part of the reason was the presence of Bai Feiyu. They had no desire to provoke such a notorious troublemaker.
Another reason was that the Golden Light Sect lacked any practitioner at the fourth level of the Shackles Realm; their strongest member was their Senior Sister, whereas the Void Returning Sect actually had two such experts if Bai Feiyu was included, putting the Golden Light Sect at a disadvantage.
Moreover, there was already some lingering friction between the two sects, so they naturally didn't enjoy the prospect of coexisting with the Void Returning Sect.
Still, now that they were on the battlefield, it was probably too late to ask the flying boats to take them to a different sector. They had no choice but to make the best of it.
Nevertheless, all the Golden Light Sect disciples curiously watched the Void Returning Sect members. The truth was, these Void Returning Sect folks were each holding a washbasin and scooping water from the stream, seemingly... intending to take a bath?
Furthermore, every single one of their faces wore a lazy, carefree expression.
Anyone who didn't know better would have thought they were here on vacation. It was so utterly bizarre that it left many of the Golden Light Sect disciples completely unable to make sense of the current situation.
As the person in charge of the camp, Bai Feiyu put on his clothes and walked out the moment he heard the commotion of approaching footsteps. Seeing that it was the Golden Light Sect, a wave of annoyance washed over him.
He had actually thought another batch of Void Returning Sect members had arrived, which was why he had hurriedly dressed and rushed out, only to find out it was just people from the Golden Light Sect.
Had he known in advance, he would have just left them hanging out to dry instead of bothering to come out.
