Chapter 14: The Dormitory Overlord
"Get lost! Who do you think you are?" The brother from Linpu was slapped hard across the face by Liu Kun and instantly collapsed to the side.
Seeing this, Bai Feiyu’s anger flared up in an instant.
"Dammit, Bai Feiyu, do you even know what you are? I only mention your dead mother out of respect for her, not because you deserve it—"
Before Liu Kun could finish, he felt a sudden gust of wind. In a flash, Bai Feiyu appeared before him and punched him in the face.
Although he was not the original Bai Feiyu but a transmigrant into his body, he would never allow anyone to insult Bai Feiyu’s mother. That was his bottom line!
Caught off guard, Liu Kun staggered and fell to the ground, looking at Bai Feiyu in shock. He hadn’t expected Bai Feiyu to actually have the guts to defy him.
"Fine then, Bai Feiyu, you’ve got some nerve! How dare you lay a hand on me!" Liu Kun roared in fury. As the tyrant of the dormitory, he would not allow anyone to challenge his authority.
The next moment, Liu Kun leapt up from the ground, his fist carrying the force of a gale as he launched it at Bai Feiyu. He held nothing back in that punch—the might of someone at the sixth level of Qi Training instantly surged forth, leaving the faces of the others in the dormitory pale with shock.
They all knew Liu Kun was a ruthless character among them. Now that Bai Feiyu had angered him, it seemed he would pay dearly for it. After all, among these outer sect disciples, who numbered in the thousands and were largely unmotivated, chaos and disorder reigned. Unless someone died, even the elders wouldn’t bother intervening.
"Hmph!" Bai Feiyu showed no fear in the face of Liu Kun’s attack. Instead, he activated the Fiery Fist skill he’d obtained from collecting attributes, meeting Liu Kun head-on.
As Bai Feiyu punched out, his arm was instantly wreathed in flames, the fire burning steadily and exuding a frightening, awe-inspiring aura.
Just as Liu Kun had no qualms about disregarding the rules, Bai Feiyu also knew the customs among the outer disciples—elders wouldn’t concern themselves with such matters. Besides, he was destined to soar above the heavens; how could he be intimidated by a mere nobody?
With a thunderous crash, their fists collided, sending a shockwave through the dormitory that left everyone stunned. This was, without doubt, the most powerful clash ever witnessed in their dormitory.
None of them could remember when Bai Feiyu had become so strong. Judging by this display, he was actually capable of contending with Liu Kun.
But in the next instant, terror swept across their faces.
For as the two fists met, Liu Kun—who had been so arrogant only moments before—suddenly grimaced in agony. His fist began cracking inch by inch, blood seeping out and dripping to the floor.
On Bai Feiyu’s side, he was completely unscathed.
With a shriek, Liu Kun fainted on the spot. Even if his fist wasn’t entirely destroyed, it was close enough; he was simply no match for Bai Feiyu.
A gasp of incredulous shock rippled through everyone present. No one could understand how Bai Feiyu had grown so powerful.
But one thing was clear: from this moment forward, the king of the dormitory had changed.
"What’s going on? Who’s fighting in there?"
At that moment, an elderly voice rang out, causing everyone to freeze in panic. It was the voice of an elder.
How could this be? Elders rarely, if ever, visited their dormitory—what were the odds that one would appear at this very moment, just as Liu Kun had been knocked out?
As the elder’s voice faded, Bai Feiyu quickly dispelled the flames from his arm, feigning innocence. He already had a good idea why the elder had come.
"Reporting to Elder, Liu Kun was the bully of our dorm and insisted on picking on me. I’d been secretly cultivating for a long time, and today I finally taught him a lesson!" As soon as the elder stepped inside, a clever disciple quickly spoke up, glancing at Bai Feiyu.
This guy was shrewd; he knew Bai Feiyu was bound to rise in the future. By stepping forward and taking responsibility for the incident, he hoped Bai Feiyu would look out for him, boosting his own status in the dormitory.
Most importantly, while the elder might punish him for fighting, the penalty would be minor and well within his tolerance.
Bai Feiyu gave the disciple a deep look, making a mental note of his face. He had to admit, this kid was sharp—he knew how to handle things, and Bai Feiyu liked that.
After all, the elder’s purpose in coming was clear enough. If Bai Feiyu left a bad impression, it would only harm his prospects in the inner sect.
The elder looked over the scene and instantly understood what had happened. He had come today on orders from above to inform Bai Feiyu that he had been promoted to the inner sect. The higher-ups had recognized Bai Feiyu’s talent and potential and made an exception for him.
"You are Bai Feiyu, aren’t you? Very good, just as I thought..." The elder looked at the disciple who had spoken, but in his eyes, only Bai Feiyu could have crippled someone’s fist with a single blow.
"Er... Elder, I am Bai Feiyu..." Bai Feiyu replied awkwardly, stepping forward. He had no choice; if he didn’t claim his identity now, his place as an inner disciple would be given away.
"You’re Bai Feiyu?" The elder paused, momentarily confused. Having been removed from mundane affairs for so long, he didn’t immediately grasp the situation.
"That’s right, Elder, this is our Brother Yu!" the others quickly chimed in.
"Oh, so you’re Bai Feiyu. I’m here today to inform you that you may pack your things—you’ve been promoted to the inner sect! Gather your belongings and come with me," the elder said. Although puzzled, he refrained from asking further, knowing that no disciple would dare risk impersonating Bai Feiyu.
"What?"
"Brother Yu is joining the inner sect?"
"Heavens, how did this happen?"
The elder’s sudden announcement shocked everyone, filling them with envy and awe. For outer disciples like them, the greatest dream was to become an inner disciple one day. To achieve that was to bring glory to one’s family. None of them had realized Bai Feiyu had secretly been working so hard, especially since he seemed just as lackadaisical as the rest of them before.
But now, jealousy burned in their hearts...
