Volume One, Chapter 37: The Secret
Not long after entering, Xie Yangfeng, a social butterfly in every sense of the word, was whisked away by someone. Gu Nanxiao could only loiter leisurely around the venue, waiting.
"Excuse me, may we have a chat?" Before he had even fully settled into his seat, an invitation card appeared before him. Gu Nanxiao forced himself to conjure a polite smile. Ten minutes later, he fled the scene in a hurry. After three such encounters, Gu Nanxiao dared not sit down at all, resorting to pacing back and forth across the hall. Even the smoking area was filled with men and women discussing their own affairs.
"Look, do they really look like strangers to you?" Watching Xia Yao walk toward Qin Long, Tang Lingxuan was certain there was some "illicit affair" going on.
"Oh no, it’s over. This old ghost is formidable; my father is in trouble!" Big-Headed Ghost swayed his large head and squeezed his eyes shut, unable to bear watching any further.
Wang Qiang muttered to himself that the medicinal herb wasn't easy to find; if its location were known, he would have rushed there without a moment's delay.
When Wuchen finished speaking, it felt as though a biting, frigid wind had swept through the room. Everyone felt a chill down their spines, cold sweat beading on their foreheads, as they looked at him with revulsion. This man was truly synonymous with brutality.
"Don't you think you should thank me, Sengoku..." Seeing Sengoku waking from his dream, Wuchen said with a sly smile.
From the moment the man called for his henchmen to the instant Chen Qing shattered his cervical vertebrae, it all happened in a heartbeat. By the time the man’s cry of pain rang out, the members of the Song family finally reacted, recoiling in unison and looking at Xu Qingmo as if he were a monster.
When Wang Qiang spoke, a fierce, sharp aura radiated from him, causing the temperature in the room to drop by several degrees. Xu Qingmo was unfazed; he was thick-skinned, and even if word of his affair with Shen Wanqing were to spread, he wouldn't be the one losing out.
"Roar!" With a thunderous cry, a dozen giant bears charged from behind, rushing toward Meiying and her two companions.
"It seems you don't care for this wine, Young Master. Or would you rather hear a song?" Duan Linglong had downed several cups and was already feeling the effects of the alcohol.
Within the City of Gods, Shi Zhongdi found a friend to act as his guardian so he could safely begin reshaping the bones within his skull.
While I was searching for an opportunity to escape, Zhe Zhe returned to Guanju Palace, accompanied by the others. Overcome by grief, she had fainted several times, yet upon waking, she ignored everyone’s objections and insisted on returning to Guanju Palace.
Nine fire dragons coiled their magic-sealing chains around the model of the sword, circling it and breathing flames with increasing intensity. The chains gradually melted, slowly taking the shape of the sword itself.
"Lin Xiao, Lin Xiao." Just as I was trying to climb up and jump into the sea to chase after Ye Qingcheng, a voice rang out in my ear.
No matter how hard she tried, she could not rise. She felt a sense of powerlessness; the absolute suppression of strength left her unable to break free in the slightest.
The Cyan-Wind Giant Wolf exuded a potent aura, and with the striking scar over its right eye, its roar instantly intimidated the warriors nearby, forcing them to retreat in terror.
As the son of the Grand Elder of the Judgment Group, Yun Zhongnian already held a transcendent status within the Bai family. In these circumstances, his influence grew rapidly. Calling him the son of the Grand Elder was almost an understatement; he was essentially the young master of the Bai family.
"Chief, the refined iron from before was extracted from a meteorite. The ratio of various metals in the iron is very similar to the composition of the meteorite." Qian Jiangliu hesitated, but under the gaze of the Chief and Mu Chenfeng, he revealed the truth.
Seeing this scene, I was taken aback. I lifted my head slightly to look at the newcomer, whose face was cold, his eyes filled with a murderous intent directed at me.
Every desire simmered within Chen Xiao’s body, but he was in no hurry. Su Yating had just woken up and was still groggy; rushing things would only invite her resentment.
