Chapter 13: The Stolen Fiancé

Of course, the last sentence Jing Yunluo said, that Yang Wan deserved it, Jing Yan didn’t send over, and Fu Chen naturally didn’t hear it.
Cunning as Jing Yan was, how could he not know that his precious niece had recently reconciled with Fu Chen?
So, if he didn’t stir up some trouble, it wouldn’t be like his nature.
Yes, Jing Yan would absolutely never admit that this was revenge born out of jealousy! Absolutely not!
Meanwhile, Fu Chen, who received Jing Yan’s message: ???
What does this mean? The wife he hasn’t even got in his hands is already lost?
Startled, Fu Chen grabbed his phone, put on the nearby jacket, and headed out.
“Boss, there’s a meeting in twenty minutes. Where are you going?” Assistant Xiao Zhu asked anxiously, watching Fu Chen look like he was about to quit.
“Meeting canceled. Reschedule for another day!”
With just that sentence left behind, Fu Chen left.
“Oh, okay.”
As the elevator doors closed, Xiao Zhu scratched his head, “Is the boss going to chase after his wife? Could it be I was right? Is this a proper ‘chasing wife and burning bridges’ scenario?”
Fu Chen drove to the Jing residence, but the atmosphere there was... strange.
After Jing Yunluo praised the heir of the Gu family extravagantly, Jing Yan grew even angrier. Outstanding, huh? How come he heard that Mr. Gu had several girlfriends?
“That Gu guy is no good, you—”
Before Jing Yan could finish, Yang Wan interrupted.
“Whether he’s a good person or not, you’ll know when you meet him.”
Yang Wan’s words stunned Jing Yan completely; for a moment, he didn’t understand what she meant.
“You’re going to meet him?”
Jing Yan looked incredulous.
“Why not? After all, he’s the chairman’s well-meaning introduction.”
Yang Wan spoke matter-of-factly, and to others, there was nothing wrong with that.
Indeed, the person introduced by Grandpa Jing wouldn’t be a big problem, and since Yang Wan was single, going to meet him was no big deal—no excuse could be found.
Just that one sentence shut down everything Jing Yan wanted to say. What else could he say? He had neither the right nor the standing.

After dinner, Jing Yunluo lit incense as usual for Jing Yan. Before Jing Yan completely fell asleep, she gave him a gentle reminder.
“Second Uncle, are you sure you won’t stop Sister Wanwan from meeting that Gu family guy?”
“What qualifications do I have to stop it?”
“Look, back then you refused to act quickly to secure Sister Wanwan. Now even Grandpa can’t bear it.
But maybe this is good—if she really finds someone she likes, perhaps Sister Wanwan will marry quickly, and then you can rest assured. After all, once Sister Wanwan is married, she won’t be following you around like she does now.”
It must be said, Jing Yunluo knew how to strike at the heart.
Once Jing Yan was fully asleep, Jing Yunluo started acupuncture on him. However, today she didn’t use her divine power to seal Jing Yan’s meridians again—after all, today was a day meant to break Jing Yan’s defenses. If he still thought of himself as a useless person, he might not care about Yang Wan going on a blind date.
Originally, Jing Yan did not plan to nap. He wanted to seriously consider whether to talk to Yang Wan, but before long, he fell asleep.
After Jing Yunluo finished acupuncture, she went downstairs and saw Fu Chen sitting on the living room sofa, with her sharp-eyed grandfather sitting opposite.
“What are you doing here?”
Jing Yunluo didn’t deliberately hide her relationship with Fu Chen in front of Grandpa, but she didn’t admit it either.
“Second Uncle... sent me a message.”
Fu Chen barely finished speaking when Jing Yunluo was about to ask what the message was, but then her grandfather’s furious and powerful voice interrupted.
“Who do you call Second Uncle! Who is your Second Uncle! You punk, watch your manners! Our Jing family is not good enough to be associated with you!”
Though he said “not good enough,” Grandpa Jing didn’t really regard the Fu family highly.
“Grandpa, I was wrong before, but I’ve changed. Please give me and Second Uncle another chance. I promise to treat Yunluo well!”
“Don’t call me ‘Grandpa’! I only have one granddaughter—Jing Yunluo!”
Grandpa Jing was still angry; it was no wonder, since Jing Yunluo was his only granddaughter, cherished and pampered since childhood.
And this punk in front of him had treated his granddaughter badly at first, hanging around with that Liu Yueru’s daughter, treating his precious granddaughter as if she were invisible!
Now he wanted to casually ask for another chance?
How could that be possible?
Fu Chen knew very well that Grandpa Jing and Second Uncle Jing wouldn’t let him off easily.
But today, he had to make the Jing family know that he was sincere about Jing Yunluo!
“Grandpa, please don’t be like this...”
Before Jing Yunluo could finish, Fu Chen’s action left her stunned.

Fu Chen stood up, walked to Grandpa Jing, and then knelt down directly!
“Grandpa, I swear I will treat Luo Luo well for the rest of her life! I will transfer thirty percent of Fu Corporation’s shares to Luo Luo. If one day I betray her, Luo Luo will have the power to leave me homeless and to take revenge!”
Grandpa Jing hadn’t expected Fu Chen to come, but even more surprising was Fu Chen kneeling before him and presenting such an irresistible offer!
Thirty percent of Fu Corporation’s shares! What did that mean? Even Fu Chen himself held only forty-eight percent. It meant Fu Chen was practically handing over Fu Corporation to Jing Yunluo!
“Is that your true intention?”
Grandpa Jing, having weathered the business world for years and seen countless people, still trusted his judgment. Fu Chen at this moment was indeed trustworthy.
“My family’s child doesn’t need your Fu family’s shares, but Fu Chen, remember this: our Luo Luo, even without her parents, has her grandfather and uncle. We will never let you bully her for nothing!”
Grandpa Jing spoke seriously, and Fu Chen listened attentively.
But Fu Chen knew he had passed this test.
“All right, you two go play outside! Don’t be a bother at home!”
“Thank you, Grandpa!”
Jing Yunluo happily hugged her grandfather and then pulled Fu Chen out.
Fu Chen glanced back as they walked away, “Goodbye, Grandpa!”
“Why did you suddenly come today anyway?”
Could it really be just to ask grandpa to let them be together?
Jing Yunluo didn’t believe it.
Fu Chen pulled the car to a safe spot off the road, took out his phone, opened the chat with Jing Yan, turned the volume to maximum, and played the voice message Jing Yan had sent.
“I’ve met that heir of the Gu family—tall, handsome, and smart...”
“Luo Luo, aren’t you going to explain this?”
Fu Chen looked at Jing Yunluo with a sorrowful face, his tone aggrieved as if Jing Yunluo had wronged him.
“This has nothing to do with me... Wait! Your Second Uncle sent this to you?”
Jing Yunluo suddenly asked, and Fu Chen didn’t try to hide it, simply nodding.
“This isn’t how it is! Ah, forget it, I’ll tell you...”
