Chapter Fourteen: Teacher Lin Defends Jiang Wuyang

Jiang Wuyang followed the sound and saw it was Duan Jinyan.
When Duan Jinyan wanted to be good to someone, he did so to the utmost, even willing to go against the whole world for you.
When they were children, if she was bullied at school, he was always the first to notice and would stand up for her.
He was such a polite and gentle person, yet for her sake, he would put aside his dignity and confront younger students.
Looking back now, his attentiveness and thoughtfulness had never changed.
Sure enough, the moment Ruan An’an felt wronged, he appeared.
Jiang Wuyang turned her face away, refusing to look at him. “It’s nothing. I just transferred to Science Class A and wanted to take some things with me.”
“Then take them. Why scare An’an? Apologize to her,” Duan Jinyan said nonchalantly, as if it were only natural.
Sang Wan, standing nearby, was stunned. After regaining her senses, she immediately moved to shield Jiang Wuyang, displaying a very intimate stance.
“Isn’t it, senior, that you should find out what happened first?”
“Demanding Yangyang apologize to this person without asking anything—are you serious?”
Sang Wan spoke bluntly and straight from the heart, realizing too late that she had said something rude.
It was the first time Duan Jinyan had heard such impoliteness, and he frowned slightly.
“Is there even a question? If Jiang Wuyang hadn’t bullied An’an, why would An’an be so wronged?”
Jiang Wuyang stood behind Sang Wan, taller by a head, clearly seeing the impatience in Duan Jinyan’s eyes.
“Duan Jinyan, my purpose was just to take my things. Why do you have to stop me?”
Jiang Wuyang’s voice was hoarse; if one didn’t pay attention, it sounded like she had a cold.
Duan Jinyan’s frown deepened.
He had already heard about Jiang Wuyang transferring classes earlier and did not doubt it.
“Who is stopping you? Take your things, but why scare An’an? Your attitude is truly annoying.”
Duan Jinyan came from a prestigious military-political family. Their acquaintance was due to growing up nearby and attending school together. Unlike Wen Mubai, who appeared out of nowhere, Duan Jinyan was like another older brother to her.
Yet now, hearing the word “annoying” from his mouth was painful beyond words.
But at this moment, Jiang Wuyang only frowned slightly.
“Whether you like it or not, I don’t understand a word of your nonsense.”

“If you won’t let me move my things, then I’ll just stay here with you. When the teacher comes, we’ll see who’s right.”
Ruan An’an was just a young girl. Hearing this, she gripped Duan Jinyan’s sleeve tighter.
Indeed, when the teacher arrived, all the facts would come to light. Everyone would know about Jiang Wuyang’s class transfer.
So, blocking her like this might result in a scolding.
Their homeroom teacher was an old-fashioned disciplinarian with no leniency.
Though nervous, Ruan An’an soon relaxed.
After all, it wasn’t her blocking Jiang Wuyang—it was the class captain. She was only asking a question.
Duan Jinyan’s brows furrowed deeply. His usually gentle and refined face showed rare displeasure.
In his eyes, Jiang Wuyang’s actions were merely ploys to attract his attention.
After all, she had done quite a few such things.
Unexpectedly, even now, she showed no remorse.
He had only come to the second-year floor to handle some business and happened to witness this scene.
With so many people around, he dared not imagine how badly An’an was bullied when no one was there.
Seeing Jiang Wuyang transfer to Science Class A was for the best—at least that way, An’an wouldn’t be easily hurt. As for Lin Jiachi, a warning would suffice; he wouldn’t dare order An’an around anymore.
Just then, a stern voice rang out.
“What are you all doing here?! Don’t you know class is about to start?!”
Teacher Lin’s voice arrived before he did, with Li Chengsheng trotting closely behind.
Seeing Teacher Lin, Ruan An’an panicked and took the initiative.
“Teacher, I heard that Sister Yangyang is transferring to Science Class A. Is it true? She came here to move desks, but we didn’t know the situation, so we didn’t let her take them away.”
Her tone and words were extremely innocent.
But Duan Jinyan glanced sideways at her.
Jiang Wuyang was the one who told them about the transfer, yet now she claimed ignorance...
Ruan An’an noticed Duan Jinyan’s gaze and felt a little nervous.
She worried this act might make him dislike her.
Yet, without hearing the system’s prompt indicating a drop in favorability, her heart suddenly relaxed. It seemed Duan Jinyan truly no longer cared about Jiang Wuyang.
A touch of triumph crept into her heart.
Jiang Wuyang, no matter how strong you are, what good is it? The one you care about doesn’t want you anymore.

Teacher Lin frowned as he glanced at Ruan An’an.
An’an was a good student with decent social skills, but there was something off about her thoughts.
She seemed to be deliberately or inadvertently targeting Jiang Wuyang.
Teacher Lin decided to attribute this to her young age and immature mindset, requiring more guidance.
Little did he know some people are born with a wicked heart.
Sighing, he said, “Yes, Jiang Wuyang will be transferring to Science Class A. Everyone, please congratulate her.”
“Also, the monthly exam results are out. Xie Yi, come to my office after class. Now, everyone disperse and get back to work. If you have nothing to do, you can help Jiang Wuyang move her things.”
Xie Yi’s face paled at being called out, and he reflexively let go of the hand he had placed on Jiang Wuyang’s desk.
Lowering his head, he murmured anxiously, “O-okay, teacher.”
Ruan An’an glanced at the silent Duan Jinyan and gritted her teeth.
“Sister Yangyang, it was my fault for not understanding clearly and wasting your time. Let me help you move your things.”
Before Jiang Wuyang could speak, Sang Wan cut in with a sarcastic tone.
“Oh no, how could we trouble you? You’re so tiny—I’m afraid you’d pass out halfway through moving those things. You should just stay in the classroom and rest.”
Ruan An’an’s expression darkened.
Though she was younger, so what? She was chosen by the system!
With the system’s blessing, how could ordinary people like them compare to her?
Comforting herself this way, Ruan An’an exhaled deeply and forced a smile.
“Well then, I’ll go prepare for class. Goodbye, Sister Yangyang.”
Jiang Wuyang kept her hands in the pockets of her school jacket and ignored her. As she turned, she rolled her eyes and was the first to stride back to her new class.
Sang Wan followed after a few steps.
Linking arms with Jiang Wuyang, she said playfully, “Hehe, we’ll be in the same class now. If you don’t understand something, just ask me! I’ll introduce you to some friends later...”
Jiang Wuyang smiled faintly.
On the way to class, an unprecedented lightness settled in her heart.
“Thanks, Wanwan. I’ll treat you to lunch.”
“Sure! The sweet and sour pork at Cafeteria 2 is super delicious! You have to try it!”
Jiang Wuyang said nothing, quietly slowing her pace to match Sang Wan’s.
