Standing in front of the office door marked "Section Chief," Haruno Tsukasa paused for a moment before knocking lightly.

"Knock, knock, knock..."

"Come in." A few seconds passed, and a cold, glacial voice emanated from behind the closed door.

He pushed the door open and entered. The faint, elegant fragrance of orchids greeted his nose. The office was decorated sparsely; there were no calligraphic scrolls on the walls, only a few delicate, verdant orchids resting on the windowsill and an upright mahogany coat rack.

Behind a desk a few meters away sat a woman with her hair in a chignon, dressed in a black women’s business suit. She was hunched over, studying a stack of reports.

"Good morning, Section Chief," Haruno said, standing his ground to wait for a response.

The woman remained silent, showing no intention of looking up. It was as if the voice that had invited him in did not belong to her. She completely ignored his presence in the office.

This woman—with her beautiful, austere features and an icy aura that warned others to keep their distance—was Sayaka Suzumiya, the Section Chief of the Health and Welfare Division at the Bunkyo City Office.

Amidst the silence, Haruno turned to close the door behind him and stood quietly, observing her. Her dark, lustrous hair was pinned up, with a few stray wisps trailing over her forehead. Her alluring, crimson lips were perfectly petite, and the slightly open collar of her white shirt revealed a glimpse of fair skin that made one want to hover near the ceiling just to get a better look.

Furthermore, the desk was hollowed out in the middle. From his vantage point, Haruno could clearly see her long, slender legs, tightly encased in flesh-colored stockings, crossed at the knees. The red-soled high heels she wore only added to her commanding, sophisticated presence, making it impossible to look away.

Had it not been for her eccentric temper, her "keep away" attitude, and the many precedents of her harshly scolding or punishing subordinates, she likely would have had many secret admirers.

Uncompromising and emotionally detached. That was the consensus among their colleagues.

As a general administrative clerk, Haruno had had little to no contact with this superior’s superior. Usually, he only saw her in passing while arriving at or leaving work; this was his first time being summoned to her office.

He summoned his "Malice List," intending to check what kind of ill will this icy superior harbored in her heart. However, when he finally saw it, he couldn't help but be shocked.
