Chapter Thirty-Five: Tangled into a Knot

Just as the deal was about to be concluded, however, the man suddenly proposed putting it on the account of Soaring Heaven Peak.
Zhao Changsheng and Ximen Feixue were both startled when they heard this. They exchanged a glance and saw the same shock reflected in each other’s eyes.
“Senior Brother, Godly Sword Peak has gone too far! How can they be so despicable as to try to frame our Soaring Heaven Peak?” Ximen Feixue said, clenching his fists.
Zhao Changsheng and Ximen Feixue hurriedly bought the lotus-leaf-wrapped chicken and rushed back to Soaring Heaven Peak without stopping.
Upon seeing Ye Xinghe, Zhao Changsheng hastily said, “Master, we discovered something extremely suspicious on our way down the mountain.”
He then recounted everything they had seen and heard at the inn, including how the chief disciple of Godly Sword Peak had tried to purchase a Primal Chaos Spirit Pearl and charge it to Soaring Heaven Peak.
After listening, Ye Xinghe’s eyes turned icy cold. “Godly Sword Peak has never ceased its petty schemes, and now they actually dare to plot against Soaring Heaven Peak so openly. They must be up to something. But I, Ye Xinghe, am no soft persimmon for anyone to squeeze.”
Night descended, cloaking the Holy Land in tranquil silence.
Ye Xinghe led Zhao Changsheng and Ximen Feixue toward Godly Sword Peak without making a sound.
Their figures moved like ghosts through the moonlit forest. Before long, they arrived at Godly Sword Peak.
The three concealed their auras and approached the peak’s central area.
There, a massive furnace radiated a blazing red glow, illuminating the open ground around it.
The master of Godly Sword Peak stared at the divine weapon gradually taking shape within the furnace, his eyes burning with fervor. Turning to the disciples around him, he declared loudly, “Once this divine weapon is born, its might will shake the world. When I wield such a peerless weapon, the throne of Holy Land Master will be mine and mine alone!”
His words were filled with arrogant certainty.
Hearing this from the shadows, Ye Xinghe suddenly understood. So this fellow was plotting to usurp the throne.
Yet he could not help feeling puzzled. Godly Sword Peak held a certain position within the Holy Land, but the Holy Land had profound foundations and numerous peak masters. How could they possibly possess such audacity?
Just then, Luo Cai, the chief disciple of Godly Sword Peak, hurried over.
He carried a box that emitted a dim, eerie radiance. Approaching the peak master, he respectfully opened it, and a Primal Chaos Spirit Pearl immediately appeared before everyone’s eyes.
Luo Cai said obsequiously, “Peak Master, obtaining this Primal Chaos Spirit Pearl took considerable effort.”
“The Sima Clan is giving us its full support from behind the scenes. Their plan is for us to stir up trouble first, then use this Primal Chaos Spirit Pearl to fabricate the appearance that Ye Xinghe harbors rebellious intentions. That will make the other peak masters suspicious and wary of him. Once that happens, the Holy Land will inevitably descend into chaos, and we can reap the benefits as the hidden victor.”

After hearing this, the master of Godly Sword Peak nodded in satisfaction and laughed heartily. “Hahahaha, excellent! What a splendid scheme. Ye Xinghe has always been so arrogant. It is time he experienced what it feels like to be targeted by everyone.”
“Once I become the master of the Holy Land, all of you will be meritorious subjects. You shall enjoy endless glory and riches.”
Ye Xinghe sneered inwardly. So the Sima Clan was behind all of this, intending to use Godly Sword Peak to eliminate him and throw the Holy Land into turmoil.
He had no intention of sitting around and waiting for death.
Just as he was about to act, Ximen Feixue flew into a rage. Rolling up his sleeves, he was about to charge toward the master of Godly Sword Peak.
“Master, these treacherous villains are utterly vile! I’ll teach them a lesson and show them that our peak is not to be trifled with!”
Ye Xinghe hurriedly seized him and shook his head. “Feixue, do not act rashly. If we go over there directly, we will only alert them and fall into their trap. I have a marvelous way to teach them a lesson.”
With that, a sly smile curled across his lips.
Taking advantage of the night, the three master and disciples quietly infiltrated the Holy Land’s kitchen.
The kitchen was silent, save for the faint glow of the fire.
Ye Xinghe signaled for his disciples to keep quiet, then began rummaging through the kitchen.
His movements were swift. Before long, he found the ingredients that the disciples of Godly Sword Peak would be eating that evening.
Ye Xinghe took a porcelain bottle from his robes. Inside was a batch of super-invincible, devastatingly potent laxative that he had refined with meticulous care.
Made from a variety of rare spirit herbs, the laxative was exceedingly powerful. Even cultivators with profound spiritual energy would suffer agonizing stomach cramps and relentless diarrhea after taking it.
He gently uncorked the bottle and sprinkled the laxative evenly over the ingredients. He even used his spiritual energy to conceal its scent, lest anyone detect it.
Zhao Changsheng and Ximen Feixue watched their master’s actions from the side and exchanged bewildered glances. Though they felt that his method was somewhat unconventional, they could not help admiring the ruthlessness of his heart.
Compared with ordinary poison that made people vomit blood, this method of leaving a person weak-kneed and rushing desperately to the latrine seemed even more terrifying.
Ximen Feixue muttered under his breath, “Master’s move is truly… vicious.”
Zhao Changsheng merely grinned and gave him a thumbs-up.
Night shrouded Godly Sword Peak. As the lamps were lit, its master and a group of disciples gathered in the dining hall to enjoy their evening meal.

The master of Godly Sword Peak sat at the head of the table. First, he lightly inhaled the enticing aroma of the food filling the air, a look of satisfaction appearing on his face. Then he picked up the soup bowl before him, ladled up a spoonful, and brought it to his lips.
The moment the soup entered his throat, its鲜美 flavor blossomed across his tongue. He nodded slightly in praise. “Hmm, today’s soup is excellent. Fresh, rich, and full-bodied. The kitchen staff should be rewarded.”
Hearing their master’s praise, the disciples began reaching for their bowls and chopsticks as well.
Then disaster struck.
One disciple was lifting a piece of braised pork to his mouth when his face suddenly turned deathly pale. The chopsticks in his hand clattered to the floor, and he immediately clutched his stomach with both hands, his features twisted in agony.
“Peak Master, my… my stomach hurts so much!”
Before the others could react, they too began to feel terrible pain in their abdomens. It surged through them in waves like a furious tide, relentless and unstoppable.
“Ah! My stomach hurts too!”
“What… what is happening?”
For a moment, cries of agony rose and fell throughout the dining hall.
The disciples no longer had any concern for dignity or decorum. One after another, they dropped their bowls and chopsticks, clutched their stomachs, and staggered toward the latrine.
The disciples dressed in Godly Sword Peak’s robes darted wildly between the dining hall and the latrine like a swarm of headless flies.
Some ran so desperately that they collided with one another. Even after falling to the ground, they had no time to worry about the pain; they scrambled up and continued their mad dash.
The master of Godly Sword Peak was not spared either. His stomach churned violently, and the cramping grew ever more intense.
He tried to stand and make his way to the latrine, only to find his legs had gone weak. He nearly collapsed back into his seat.
After finally steadying himself, he forced himself forward through the agony.
Unfortunately, the entrance to the latrine had already been jammed tight by a crowd of frantic disciples.
They were packed together in a writhing mass, every face contorted with desperation, as they shouted incessantly:
“Let me in first! I can’t hold it any longer!”
