Chapter 34: Get Out Now!
Ye Xinghe’s eyes blazed with fury as he stared down the members of the Huangfu family, retorting righteously, "Your Huangfu family oversteps its bounds! This is my property, Ye Xinghe’s. Since when does it concern you to stand here and spout such nonsense?"
The Huangfu family members felt utterly humiliated, their indignation burning like a wildfire. They were used to being treated with a measure of deference by everyone, and they never expected Ye Xinghe to challenge their authority time and again.
A core disciple of the Huangfu family barked angrily, "Ye Xinghe, how dare you! To speak to our family in such a manner—do you truly believe we dare not lay a hand on you?"
Ye Xinghe threw his head back and laughed. "Hahahaha! I do not hold you in any regard; what can you do about it? Your family relies on power to bully others, and today you even dared to slander my disciples and covet my treasures. It is nothing but a delusional fantasy!"
With that, Ye Xinghe’s hands moved in a rapid blur, weaving a hand seal. Spiritual energy surged around him, and the ground beneath his feet began to glow with a strange light. Intricate spiritual patterns emerged like serpents, intertwining and connecting. In an instant, a massive formation manifested before their eyes, shimmering with a formidable, surging pressure.
Terrified that Ye Xinghe was about to attack, the Huangfu family members scrambled to flee, but it was already too late.
"Mountain-Moving and Sea-Overturning Formation, rise!" Ye Xinghe roared.
As his command echoed, the formation erupted with blinding light, unleashing a powerful suction force. The Huangfu clan members felt their bodies lose control, pulled by an invisible force that dragged them instantly into the formation. Following a dizzying blur of movement, they were all whisked away to the foot of the Sacred Ground.
They tumbled to the ground in a heap, covered in dust and shame, their pride shattered. The Huangfu family members were furious, their faces flushed red with impotent rage. Just then, a single word drifted slowly through the air from Ye Xinghe: "Begone!"
The word struck their ears like a thunderclap, leaving them reeling in pain.
The head of the Huangfu family struggled to his feet, nursing his injuries, and hissed, "Ye Xinghe, just you wait! The Huangfu family will settle this debt!"
Standing atop the Sacred Ground, Ye Xinghe looked down at them coldly. "I welcome you to try! I, Ye Xinghe, would like to see what tricks your family can conjure. But should you dare to run wild in this Sacred Ground again, it will not end with just being tossed to the foot of the mountain!"
Having resolved the farce, Ye Xinghe turned to the people of the Sacred Ground with a calm expression. "Since the Grand Competition has concluded, I shall take my disciples and return."
He turned to leave, but the Peak Master of the Spirit Ore Peak stepped forward and shouted, "Wait! Ye Xinghe, do not forget the ancient rules of the Sacred Ground. Every disciple who triumphs in the Grand Competition must venture down the mountain for trial; your disciples are no exception."
Ye Xinghe paused, turning his head slightly with a flicker of displeasure. He swept his gaze over the Peak Master and said slowly, "I shall see to my disciples' training myself; there is no need for such rigid conventions. By my side, they learn far more than they ever could on some trial."
Under Ye Xinghe’s piercing gaze, the Peak Master felt a chill run down his spine, yet he gritted his teeth and insisted, "Ye Xinghe, do not rely on your prowess to trample over the rules of the Sacred Ground. These rules have been passed down for ages; are you alone enough to change them?"
Ye Xinghe let out a cold laugh. The surrounding crowd felt an invisible pressure descend, forcing even the stronger disciples to take a few steps back.
"Rules?" Ye Xinghe said coolly. "If these rules are unreasonable, why should I not change them? The path of my disciples' growth should be guided by me, not bound by these so-called conventions."
The other Peak Masters and elders of the Sacred Ground exchanged glances. Though they were dissatisfied with Ye Xinghe’s actions, having witnessed his recent feats—from shattering the Executioner Immortal Formation to effortlessly handling the Huangfu family—they knew well that he was not a man to be trifled with. For now, they dared not speak, fearing to invite his wrath.
Seeing that no one dared to object further, Ye Xinghe waved his hand dismissively and strode off toward Tongtian Peak with Zhao Changsheng and Ximen Feixue.
Upon returning to Tongtian Peak, Ye Xinghe hurried to his meditation chamber, eager to inspect the rewards granted by the system for the recent events. While these items were excellent, keeping them for himself felt somewhat wasteful.
He brought out the Chaos Spirit Pearl, the Earth-grade high-tier technique "World-Ending Divine Thunder Arts," and the random artifact of unknown properties, placing them before his disciples. Zhao Changsheng and Ximen Feixue stared at the items, their eyes wide with shock.
"Master, these are..."
Ye Xinghe waved his hand casually. "Take them."
Zhao Changsheng and Ximen Feixue were stunned, followed by a surge of endless gratitude. How could they have been so fortunate to have such a Master? They both fell to their knees with a thud, their voices trembling with emotion.
"Master’s grace is boundless. We are eternally grateful and shall strive with all our might to cultivate, never failing your high expectations!"
Ye Xinghe smiled and helped them up. "Enough, enough. Do not be like this. I have developed a craving for lotus-leaf chicken; go down the mountain and fetch some for me."
"As you command, Master!" The two responded in unison and dashed off toward the mountain base.
Just as they reached the halfway point, they spotted several disciples from the Divine Sword Peak scurrying out of the mountain, acting suspicious. Zhao Changsheng frowned and whispered to Ximen Feixue, "Look at those people from Divine Sword Peak. They’re in such a hurry and acting so furtive; they must be hiding something. Should we follow them?"
Ximen Feixue thought for a moment and nodded. "Senior Brother, I agree. If they are up to no good, we cannot simply look away."
The two followed the Divine Sword Peak disciples into an inn, finding a secluded corner and masking their presence completely. They locked their eyes on a nearby table, where the head disciple of the Divine Sword Peak was speaking to a man. By focusing their internal energy, they were able to overhear the conversation.
To their surprise, the head disciple was desperately pleading with the man to help him acquire a Chaos Spirit Pearl. The man’s lips curled into a subtle, knowing smile; seeing the disciple’s desperation, he quoted an exorbitant, jaw-dropping price. The disciple’s face paled, but thinking of the rarity of the Chaos Spirit Pearl and its immense benefit to cultivation, he gritted his teeth and nodded reluctantly.
