Admiring a Beauty Early in the Morning
Du Yu smiled.
"I knew Sister Han was smart. I actually do have a small favor that I need your help with."
Then, with a serious expression, he said, "I'd like to have a bit more contact with President Qin."
Hearing this, Han Xinyu was momentarily bewildered.
"Haven't I already introduced him to you? From now on, whatever he needs, he will definitely never go to a second place."
Du Yu had indeed been quite formidable today. He had even managed to catch and bring in a giant bahaba fish. Throughout the entire seafood market, there was simply no one whose product variety was more complete than Du Yu's. As long as President Qin wasn't an idiot, it was absolutely impossible for him to patronize anyone else ever again. Besides, didn't they also have to factor in some personal courtesy for Han Xinyu's sake?
Seeing that Han Xinyu still hadn't understood his meaning, Du Yu immediately lowered his voice.
"What I mean is regarding other business aspects."
"You have other channels as well?"
Du Yu shook his head. "It's that I have a favor to ask of President Qin."
Han Xinyu understood immediately. "Are you eyeing his connections in the television station?"
Du Yu nodded instantly.
"That shouldn't be a problem. President Qin and I share some old acquaintance, after all. They hold gatherings at my place every few days. I'll give you a heads-up when the time comes, and the rest will depend on your own abilities."
Having someone willing to open a door for him was already more than enough.
"Thank you, Sister. Don't worry, I'll have the bahaba fish delivered to you first thing tomorrow morning."
The two struck a deal instantly.
Han Xinyu's car arrived. She got in and left, but didn't forget to remind Du Yu before departing, "If you really have a lot of them, pick out the bigger ones for me."
"Alright, no problem."
Watching her car disappear into the distance, Du Yu let out a long breath of relief, feeling thoroughly pleased inside. Excellent, this trip was a huge success.
The shop was still busy at the moment, so Du Yu simply went to a nearby bank to cash the check. The sum was quite substantial. Once the crowd in the shop had mostly dispersed, Du Yu set aside his own share and handed the remainder over to Ma Yue.
"Just the profit share alone comes to five thousand this time!" Ma Yue's eyes widened in disbelief.
Wang Xiaowei was equally thrilled. He had been waiting eagerly for Du Yu to split the earnings with him, only for Du Yu to grab him and pull him along as they walked out.
"Brother Yu, where are we going?"
"Back to the stock trading hall. If we're any later, it'll be too late."
Wang Xiaowei's eyes widened even further. "We've already invested three thousand into it, isn't that enough?"
Du Yu's total share from this payout came to seven thousand five hundred. Setting aside five hundred for emergencies, he threw all the remaining seven thousand right back into the market.
Looking at Wang Xiaowei's tearful expression, Du Yu gently patted him on the shoulder.
"Don't cry. In three days at most, I guarantee I'll have you laughing through your tears."
"Brother Yu, can I just not cry?"
"Then hold those tears back right now."
Seeing Du Yu's utterly confident demeanor, Wang Xiaowei felt thoroughly awkward inside. While it was true that his Brother Yu was an absolute expert at catching fish, pouring every ounce of energy and money into stocks like a madman... wasn't he just asking for trouble? Could it be that earning too much money recently had finally fried his brain?
Just as Wang Xiaowei was debating whether he should find someone to read his Brother Yu's fortunes, he raised his head and caught sight of a familiar figure.
"Hey, isn't that the village chief's daughter over there?"
Thinking back to how Zhao Qinqin had previously smeared the shop's reputation, Wang Xiaowei's face darkened instantly. "Judging by the direction she's heading, she's not coming to our shop. If she dares to cause trouble this time, see if I don't go straight to the village chief to file a proper complaint."
Du Yu hadn't even noticed until Wang Xiaowei pointed her out. Sure enough, this could be considered running into an enemy on a narrow path. However, after the lesson from last time, Zhao Qinqin probably wouldn't dare provoke him anytime soon. He just wondered what she was doing coming into the city at this hour.
As he was thinking this, a car suddenly pulled over by the roadside. Zhao Qinqin hurriedly got inside, her furtive and sneaky demeanor making her look just like a real thief.
"Hey, she got in the car!" Wang Xiaowei shouted in excitement. "Whose car is that? Looks like a guy is driving... Oh my god, is she trying to hook up with a wealthy sugar daddy?"
Just then, a public bus pulled up. Du Yu directly grabbed Wang Xiaowei and dragged him onto the vehicle.
"Hey, Brother Yu, just now the village chief's daughter..."
"Why do you care so much about her?" Du Yu maintained a casual mindset. He had figured things out now; Zhao Qinqin's family had nothing but malicious intentions. Getting too close to such people for long would only lead to a backlash. It was far better to keep his distance from the very start. How did that saying go? One must stay away from such individuals to avoid getting struck by stray lightning when retribution hits.
Upon returning home, the first thing Du Yu did was head straight to his fish pond. The protection provided by the system's commodities was truly remarkable. These tiny fry had grown to the size of a palm in just a single day. Although they weren't ready for trade yet, they at least offered a glimmer of hope.
As for that large bahaba fish, it didn't serve much purpose for him anymore, and since he had already given his word to someone, he couldn't go back on it.
"Let her stay in the pond for one more day, and I'll deliver her over there first thing tomorrow morning."
The night passed uneventfully, and early the next morning, Du Yu set out with the fish. He had originally intended to ask Wang Xiaowei to come along, but Wang Xiaowei had been called back home by his family early in the morning. Understandably, since Wang Xiaowei had been running around helping him out constantly lately, it was only right for him to lend a hand at home.
Du Yu arrived at the shop, placed the bahaba fish in the car, and drove off to make the delivery. When he reached Han Xinyu's establishment, she hadn't arrived yet. However, because he was a frequent visitor, he was at least a familiar face. An employee specially invited him to sit aside and wait patiently.
He had rushed over in such a hurry that he hadn't even managed a couple of bites of breakfast. Sitting in the chair now, he actually felt a bit hungry. He wondered when Sister Han would finally return.
Just as he was thinking this, the crisp sound of high heels suddenly echoed from the entrance.
Sister Han was back?
Du Yu's eyes lit up instantly as he stood up and looked toward the door.
The first things that caught his eye were a pair of gorgeous legs. But unlike Han Xinyu's style of beauty, these legs were smooth and delicate, and most importantly, exceptionally straight and slender. Du Yu even felt that if those legs were to take a fall, the bones might actually snap.
Moving upward along those stunning legs, the woman's figure was equally superb. Especially her slender waist, which looked as though it could be spanned by just two hands. A delicate and pure face, paired with flowing hair, made her look exquisitely charming. It wasn't a dazzling, striking type of beauty, but rather carried the ethereal grace of a white moonlight—just a single glance was enough to leave an indelible trace in a person's heart.
She was far too pretty!
She was quite literally the physical embodiment of a man's ideal first love!
Yet this beautiful young lady paid no attention to Du Yu's gaze. Clicking along in her high heels, she quickly walked up to the front desk.
"Excuse me, I'd like to ask if Mr. Liang has an appointment here at nine o'clock?"
The receptionist immediately checked the records and then guided her to a windowside table.
Ah, she was here to wait for someone.
Getting to admire a beauty early in the morning made Du Yu feel that his mood had improved significantly.
