Chapter 35: I Want It All

[Every task can trigger a side quest, and rewards will be settled together at the end. Please consider carefully, players. Once more, this game does NOT have the save/load feature.]

Seeing the system’s playful reminder, Haruhi sneered inwardly. Did it really think that without save and reload, he couldn’t choose everything at once? Ridiculous—did it know what being a master of time management meant? Did it really think this was just a game, that choosing one thing would finish up the afternoon? People should learn to adapt.

After thinking for a moment, Haruhi had already mapped out a rough plan of action.

He sent a message via LINE to Mirei Kiriyama.

Haruhi Arano: Teacher Yasukawa needs to see me for something. You and Mai Hanai go play outside for a while. (Read)

Miss Kiriyama: You think I’d wait for you? Don’t flatter yourself. I was already planning to hang out with Mai anyway. [trash.gif]

Haruhi Arano: How about we see a movie tonight? Tomorrow’s a day off, so no need to wake up early. [curious.gif]

Miss Kiriyama: Since you’re asking so sincerely, I’ll reluctantly accompany you. [hmph!gif]

Haruhi Arano: No need to force yourself—forget it, we won’t go. [slipping away.gif] By the way, remember to buy a few pairs of stockings at the mall. Just toss the ones you dirtied at noon...

Miss Kiriyama: Are you looking for trouble, idiot! [chopping watermelon.gif]

A flood of angry emojis followed, filling the screen.

Haruhi turned off his phone and glanced around. Most of his classmates had already left. He packed his bag and exited the classroom.

Through the corridor windows, he could see club members sweating it out on the field, all preparing for this year’s Autumn Tournament.

He envied them—that was youth, shining on the national stage with friends who shared their dreams.

Unlike him, who merely drifted among beautiful girls every day, kissing lips, holding hands, flirting for attribute points. How dull!

Oh, and several club captains were actually Kiriyama’s admirers. Her charm really was something.

Tonight, he’d push the quest progress forward; he’d only reached seven percent so far, and he was quite tempted by that attack speed bonus.

He arrived at the office, walked to the desk piled with books, and respectfully greeted,

“Good afternoon, Teacher Yasukawa.”

Kaori Yasukawa sat at her desk, turning slightly to reveal her alluring figure.

Compared to the lively clubs, the office was much quieter; most teachers had gone home.

“Do you know why I called you here?” she asked.

“Because of my grades?” Haruhi guessed, feeling that being alone with Kaori Yasukawa was somehow dangerous.

“So clever—yet why are your English scores so poor?” she teased, licking her red lips and adjusting her black-rimmed glasses, smiling sweetly.

She leaned forward, her feet in black high heels crossed, brushing against Haruhi’s school trousers—a deliberate or accidental touch.

That familiar sensation—was the real Kaori Yasukawa finally revealing herself in the empty office?

“Well then, Teacher, do you have any good ideas?” Haruhi retreated half a step, careful not to let her dirty his pants.

“Come to my house tomorrow evening. I’ll tutor you privately.”

With that, Kaori Yasukawa pulled back, speaking in a calm, professional tone, as if she were just a teacher worried about her student’s grades.

Tomorrow evening?

Haruhi mulled it over, about to respond, when Yasukawa began to urge him to leave.

“If there’s nothing else, you may go.”

Her abrupt change in demeanor left Haruhi momentarily stunned.

He turned to see the headmistress, an old lady, entering. Menopausal women were nothing to tangle with—no wonder Yasukawa became so docile.

He greeted her quickly and hurried out of the office.

He checked the time—half past three.

There was still half an hour until the appointment written on the envelope; plenty of time.

He went to the self-service vending machine in the first-floor lobby, bought a juice, and found a seat.

Seeing the affection stat, Haruhi suddenly understood why Yasukawa had started flirting with him in the office earlier.

Not so simple, after all. It dawned on him that these beautiful girls around him all seemed to have some psychological issues. Perhaps he was sent by heaven to save them?

Just then, the quest panel refreshed.

In the top left corner of the virtual screen, a line appeared:

[Action Log.]
[Players may visit Kaori Yasukawa’s house for tutoring every Saturday at 6 PM.]
[Random events may be triggered.]

A familiar sensation washed over him.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t a game, and events were highly unpredictable.

With the straw between his lips, he took out his phone, intending to inform Mrs. Uehara that he wouldn’t be working this afternoon. Unexpectedly, he received a message first—the convenience store would be closed today.

He glanced at the current status of Yoshimi Uehara.

[Feeling deeply ashamed about last night (strong), happy about the physical pleasure (strong), feels unworthy as an elder (strong)...]

Clearly, Yoshimi Uehara was in a complicated state of mind. Understandable—anyone would find it hard to process such an event.

He’d find time later to meet Mrs. Uehara alone; if once wasn’t enough, then a few more times.

Until she fully accepted their relationship.
