Chapter 136: Giving the Little Loli an Opportunity to Take Advantage!

The sudden voice startled Sayuri. She turned around, her large eyes filled with confusion.
“What are you talking about?”
“Isn’t Ogata observing some evil organization or something?”
Looking at the utterly bewildered Yuriko Ogata, Yoshiyuki Eto suddenly had a very bad feeling. Nevertheless, he forced himself to continue. “It’s all right. I already know everything, so you don’t have to hide anything from me. Just tell me honestly. And, between us, my magical talent is exceptionally high. I’m a dual-element mage who commands both darkness and light!”
As she listened, the look Yuriko Ogata gave him gradually changed. It was almost as if she were pitying an idiot.
He was so young. How had he ended up becoming a fool? What a poor thing.
Still, no matter how pitiful he was, he had no right to interrupt her while she secretly watched Haruno. What an irritating person.
When Yuriko turned her head again, she discovered that the familiar figure ahead had already vanished. The look she gave Yoshiyuki Eto changed as well, becoming faintly resentful and angry.
What now?
Had he done something wrong?
Would the evil organization stop appearing because of what he had just done? Had Ogata been exposed because of him?
That was Yoshiyuki Eto’s first thought.
He had been too reckless!
Without paying him any attention, Sayuri turned around and walked away. She had to hurry to the cafeteria. Perhaps she could still manage to sit near Haruno for lunch!
If that happened, she would surely have an excellent appetite!
After breakfast, the students gathered by class and lined up to collect their skiing equipment.
When it was Haruno Haruhi’s turn, the moment his hand touched the skis, his entire bearing seemed to change.
Even the instructor could not help taking a second look at him. He was astonished. How could anyone be so absurdly handsome?
And judging from that gaze just now, it was almost as though, in the field of skiing, he himself had been defeated utterly and completely!
Damn it! How could he allow a student to suppress his presence like this?
Back in his day, he had made it to the national championship semifinals!
The students gathered together, and the instructor came over to give them a brief introduction and some basic guidance. Most of the students at the National High School came from wealthy families.
Nearly all of them had already been exposed to skiing before.
Most knew the basic techniques, such as walking, climbing, and changing direction. The only difference was how proficient they were.
The instructor briefly shared some of his own experience and corrected a few mistakes. Once the lesson was over, everyone was free to act on their own.
The moment they heard the order, the students scattered like birds released from their cages. The boys in particular, having mastered even a few basic movements, shot down the hill in a flash and vanished among the trees.
One trail after another was left behind in the thick snow.
The girls were much more ladylike by comparison. They paired off in twos and threes, slowly circling around nearby. A few clever boys did not venture into the woods. Instead, relying on their speed, they stayed behind to amuse the girls.
For a while, the entire camp was filled with laughter and cheerful voices.
“We’re borrowing your girlfriend for now!”
A crisp voice rang beside Haruno Haruhi. When he looked up, Miss Kiyoshima had already been carried away by Kanae Terashima and Mai Hanai.
Damn it! He had been planning to take the young lady into some secluded part of the woods and share a few kisses with her! Those accursed third wheels—especially the ones with no idea they were intruding!
Before leaving, Miss Kiyoshima said nothing. She merely grinned and raised her eyebrows at Haruno Haruhi, as if to say:
“See? I can’t help it either. It’s not that I don’t want to stay and kiss you.”
Yoshiyuki Eto, meanwhile, remained at the camp. However, he was not one of those clever boys.
Holding his ski poles in both hands, he stared blankly and timidly at the small pink figure in the distance.

Because of his recklessness that morning, Yoshiyuki Eto wanted very badly to apologize. But how should he begin?
Would she dislike him even more?
While he hesitated, he looked up and suddenly saw the adorable little pink figure in the distance clumsily making her way toward him.
The otaku’s eyes lit up at once. It felt so unreal that he wondered whether he was dreaming.
Ouch. That hurt.
He was not dreaming.
As Yuriko Ogata drew closer, Yoshiyuki quickly straightened his ski suit, then put on a friendly smile.
“Hello, Ogata.”
Yuriko lifted her little head, glanced at him, and nodded.
“Hello, Eto.”
“You came to see me…”
Before Yoshiyuki could finish speaking, Yuriko did not stop. She continued gliding past him, heading toward the space behind him.
She simply passed the otaku by and continued awkwardly skiing forward.
Yoshiyuki hurriedly twisted around. Since he was wearing skis, he moved too abruptly and lost his balance, falling straight onto the snow.
Gazing at that stubborn figure, he stretched out a hand and called unwillingly after her.
“Ogata, didn’t you come here to see me?”
The little figure ahead heard someone calling her. With great awkwardness, she used her ski poles to stop, then turned her adorable little head around. Her delicate cheeks were flushed red from the cold, making her look even cuter.
The sight melted the otaku’s heart.
“No, Eto. You misunderstood.”
Although she had disliked him somewhat that morning, kind and gentle Sayuri still patiently explained.
Unfortunately, those words struck the fantasy-filled otaku with tremendous force. The hand he had reached out froze stiff, and he could only stare blankly as she walked toward the person standing on the hill.
Haruno Haruhi stood atop the slope. Though this was clearly his first time skiing, he already looked like a battle-hardened champion.
It was a peculiar sight. The beautiful girls nearby could not help stealing glances at him again and again. A handsome man skiing was certainly pleasing to the eye.
At that moment, he was gathering his strength and regulating his breathing—inhale, exhale—while slightly bending his knees in preparation to launch himself forward.
He intended to dive straight into the woods and enjoy a thrilling skiing adventure!
“Excellent! The great skier, the future legend, Haruno Haruhi, is about to embark on the first skiing run of his life!”
Haruno Haruhi drew a deep breath. His gaze grew calm and focused, and his entire presence underwent a tremendous transformation.
“H-Haruno?”
Just as the handsome young man was ready to launch himself toward the heavens, a soft voice suddenly sounded beside him.
It was quiet and sweet, revealing the speaker’s nervousness and lack of confidence.
Haruno lowered his head and saw Yuriko Ogata looking up at him, her watery eyes blinking.
“Oh? Sayuri, is there something you need?”
Haruno withdrew the imposing aura he had just summoned and asked curiously.
“I’m terribly sorry to trouble you, Haruno.”
With her goggles resting on her forehead, Sayuri bowed apologetically before even explaining what she wanted.

That day, she was wearing a pink-and-white protective suit, with a watermelon-colored hat perched on her head. Her porcelain-like little face was free of makeup, and her pure, doll-like appearance tugged at the heartstrings.
Her clumsy movements made her look even more like a well-fed little penguin.
“What’s wrong? Is something the matter?” Haruno Haruhi asked with a smile.
“I-I was wondering if you could teach me how to ski, Haruno.”
Yuriko Ogata spoke softly, lowering her little head in embarrassment.
“No problem.”
Faced with the request of such an adorable little girl, Haruno Haruhi agreed at once.
A faintly chilly breeze drifted past. Even beneath the gentle sunlight, the snowfield reflected only a pale white glow. The thick layer of snow was as hard as armor, and even wearing protective clothing did little to make the body feel warm.
Students were constantly skiing from the top of the small hill down to the bottom.
From a distance, they looked like tiny black specks, one after another, joyfully savoring the exhilaration of plunging downhill.
“Come on. Keep your feet shoulder-width apart. Relax your legs and bend your knees forward, keeping your kneecaps above the tops of your feet.”
At the summit of the hill, Haruno Haruhi held Yuriko Ogata by the shoulders and helped her adjust her posture.
Sayuri had never been interested in sports since childhood, and the prospect of this skiing day had given her a headache for quite some time.
She never expected Miss Kiyoshima to leave Haruno so soon, giving the little girl, who had been secretly watching from the shadows for ages, an opportunity.
Opportunities belonged to those who were prepared.
Little by little, she had awkwardly moved to the side of the person she loved. And sure enough, at this moment, Haruno belonged to her!
The two of them stood very close together. Haruno Haruhi guided her hand over hand. Yuriko would glance up at him, then shyly lower her gaze again. Her cheeks were rosy, and she looked both adorable and obedient.
To anyone else, the scene appeared perfectly normal.
It was nothing more than the handsome Haruno kindly helping a female classmate.
Some of the younger girls even deliberately fell near them, hoping to show off their own clumsy, adorable sides.
Haruno Haruhi watched them and could not help grumbling inwardly.
Hey, hey, hey! You were skiing so fast just a moment ago. How have you fallen five times in three minutes right in front of me? Doesn’t your backside hurt?
Still grumbling to himself, he looked over at the beautiful girl playing the “fragile klutz.” With that much padding, she could fall as often as she liked. It did not hurt anyway, did it?
Yuriko Ogata did not notice any of this. She was simply blissful to be standing beside Haruno.
“Um… Haruno, what are you two doing?”
A voice suddenly broke the atmosphere between them. Haruno Haruhi turned his head and saw Yoshiyuki Eto.
“I’m teaching Sayuri how to ski. Is something wrong, Eto?”
He was somewhat surprised. When they had been at the dormitory the previous night, Eto had not seemed particularly interested in joining them. Why was he suddenly taking the initiative to speak now?
“Oh, I see…”
As the center of attention, Haruno’s every movement was naturally visible to everyone.
Yoshiyuki Eto suddenly had no idea what to say. The moment his eyes met Haruno Haruhi’s, his mind went completely blank, and a wave of nervousness suddenly spread throughout his body.
Day five of disciplined hard work. Please show your support!
