Aunt Rong could only go to Xianyu Jing to complain, but Xianyu Jing said calmly to Su Cha, “There’s nothing much going on here. For the next couple of days, you should just take care of Third Miss first.”

Su Cha was reluctant. She had been assigned to the young lady by Madam Nangong herself. That Third Miss was notoriously difficult—she truly didn’t want to serve her!

But Su Cha also understood that if she didn’t comply with Third Miss tonight, no one would have any peace. Gritting her teeth, she headed downstairs.

Aunt Rong couldn’t help but sigh, “Young Lady, you really are being wronged.”

Xianyu Jing, on the contrary, reassured her, “It’s fine. I got by just as well before, even when I had no one to look after me.”

Then she added, “It’s very late now. You should get some rest too.”

Aunt Rong sighed again and went downstairs.

Upstairs, Nangong Xin complained for a long time before finally quieting down. Xianyu Jing herself tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

It wasn’t as if she enjoyed living under the same roof as Nangong Xin! Every encounter brought sarcasm or trouble from the Third Miss.

But now that Nangong Xin insisted on moving in, it would be hard to avoid her in the future.

The next morning.

Xianyu Jing was almost finished with breakfast when Nangong Xin finally woke up. As soon as she got up, she began calling for Su Cha.

Su Cha hesitated to go upstairs—she still needed to take the young lady to school!

Hearing Nangong Xin’s incessant shouts from above, Xianyu Jing told her, “It’s all right, I’ll just take a cab for the next few days.”

“But…”

Before Su Cha could finish, Nangong Xin started raging, “Su Cha, you have five seconds to show yourself in front of me, or you can pack your things and get out of the Nangong house right now!”

Aunt Rong hurriedly urged Su Cha upstairs, then turned to Xianyu Jing with a worried expression. “This can’t go on, young lady! What about your schooling?”

Taking a cab was all well and good, but you had to walk out of the luxurious neighborhood first to even catch one.

Xianyu Jing was unconcerned. “It’s all right, Aunt Rong. It’s just a few minutes’ walk.”

Since coming to the Nangong house, Aunt Rong had never seen anyone from the family walk anywhere. But with the young master away, no one could keep Third Miss in check!

“You’re being wronged, young lady.”

But Xianyu Jing didn’t feel wronged; she was never the pampered type.

She grabbed her school bag and stepped outside—only to find a car already waiting.

In the driver’s seat sat Jiang Mohe.

Seeing that Xianyu Jing was hesitating, he asked, “Are you waiting for Third Miss?”

She quickly shook her head, opened the door, and got in. The last thing she wanted was to share a ride with Nangong Xin and endure her antics.

Jiang Mohe glanced at her and said, “Put on your seatbelt.”

“Hm?” Xianyu Jing was a little lost. She usually sat in the back, and only now realized she was in the front passenger seat.

Jiang Mohe unfastened his own seatbelt, leaned over, and with a smooth motion, buckled hers for her.

The gesture was so natural, as if he’d always done it.

He then fastened his own seatbelt, started the car, and slowly drove out of the estate.

When Nangong Xin learned that Xianyu Jing had already gone to school by car, she was thoroughly displeased. Looking at Su Cha, her irritation grew. “Why do you have such a gloomy face? Are you upset that I made you come serve me? Is that why you’re giving me attitude?”

Su Cha kept silent, and Aunt Rong spoke up for her, “Su Cha has never been much of a talker or one for jokes. Please be patient with her, Third Miss.”

“Am I the master here, or is she? Now I have to put up with her?” Nangong Xin was even more upset.

Aunt Rong quickly signaled to Su Cha, who replied in a neutral tone, “Third Miss, please feel free to give any instructions.”

Nangong Xin snorted. “Just serve me exactly as you served Xianyu Jing before. Do I really have to spell everything out for you?”

Su Cha thought for a moment, then went to the garage to bring the car around.

Nangong Xin added, “Did you forget your training, servant? Or do you expect me to open the door myself?”

Su Cha could only get out and open the door for her.

Before getting in, Nangong Xin gave her a cold, disdainful look. “You’d better remember who your real master is.”

With that, she scoffed and got into the car.

---

A few minutes later, they arrived at Liyang Academy.

As Xianyu Jing was about to undo her seatbelt, her hand brushed against Jiang Mohe’s, startling her into pulling back hastily.

With a click, Jiang Mohe pressed the button to release her seatbelt.

He then got out and opened the door for her.

“Thank you,” she said, stepping out with her bag.

Once outside, she noticed several students stopping to look.

Thanks to the commotion caused by Nangong Xin the previous night, she’d gotten up later than usual and now arrived at school when the campus was already bustling.

Previously, rumors about Xianyu Jing had spread wildly online. Even though the school had officially cleared her name, many students still remembered her.

Even if everyone knew she wasn’t mentally ill, a girl from the southern city high school getting out of the Nangong family’s second young master’s car was bound to stir gossip.

Now, everyone was speculating about her identity. The moment she stepped out, she drew attention.

In person, she was even more beautiful than in photos, with a gentle, refined aura that resembled a noble lady—nothing like an ordinary girl from a working-class neighborhood.

But what intrigued people even more was the man by her side. He might not have the aristocratic air of the Nangong family’s second young master, but his presence was commanding.

Six-foot-three, tall and striking, even a simple suit and white shirt gave him the air of a reserved, domineering executive.

Yet his gaze was so sharp it was almost intimidating; a casual glance made you feel as if he could see right through you.

Still, the well-bred girls weren’t afraid. On the contrary, their curiosity grew, and they whispered among themselves as they boldly sized him up.

“Wow, he’s exactly my type! I’d love to ride in his car!”

“Whose young master is he? How come I’ve never seen him at any party? Was I always asleep at those?”

“He’s definitely attractive, but that car… kind of a shame!”

“What do you know! Some cars may not look impressive on the outside, but the interiors are top-notch. My family has one!”

“Who cares about the car? He’s handsome, that’s enough for me! My family has plenty of luxury cars he can drive!”

...

Xianyu Jing disliked being the center of attention and hurried toward the school gate.

But before she could even leave the parking lot, a car suddenly pulled in front of her.

It wasn’t going fast, and Xianyu Jing was about to dodge, but Jiang Mohe was quicker—he rushed forward, pulled her into his arms, spun her around, and whisked her safely to the side.

A chorus of screams erupted from the crowd of onlooking girls.

“What did I just see? Was that the Flash in real life?”

“The Flash? More like a real-life Duan Yun in white!”

“So handsome! I wish I could be in his arms…”

With all eyes on them, the real-life “Duan Yun in white” let go of Xianyu Jing, his face cold as he strode over to the driver’s side of the offending car.

“Get out of the car!”
