Chapter 86: How Did You Know I Wanted to Practice This (13)
The annihilating lightning split into chains of electricity, branching out into several bolts that enveloped Jojo and the entire training ground.
Yet Jojo, seeing this impressive display, suddenly brightened as if struck by inspiration.
“Exactly right, old Blackie! How did you know I was planning to practice instant transmission?”
He tossed aside the massive lightsaber he was holding, letting it dissipate on its own upon hitting the ground. Maintaining that weapon actually consumed quite a bit of energy.
Looking up at the lightning streaking relentlessly toward him, Jojo focused, gathering energy within his body and sweeping his telekinesis across the training ground.
This skill, instant transmission, was rather similar to the Flying Thunder God technique from a certain anime. The difference was that it didn't require sensing space; with Ultra telekinesis and a thought toward his destination, combined with light energy, he could shift positions at will.
As a bolt of lightning was about to strike him, Jojo’s body glimmered faintly, and he vanished from the spot, using instant transmission.
Boom!
The annihilating lightning struck the ground, blasting a massive crater into the training field.
At this moment, Belial, hanging upside down and standing atop the energy barrier, watched as Jojo reappeared elsewhere and let out a cold laugh. “Let’s see how long you can keep dodging!”
The Ultimate Battle Device continued unleashing lightning!
Boom! Boom!
Lightning rained down, but not a single bolt struck Jojo.
As Belial kept attacking, he gradually sensed something was wrong and paused, glancing down at the ground.
“Eh? Why aren’t you firing anymore?” The smoke cleared from the training ground as Jojo looked up at Belial in confusion. “Keep attacking! I haven’t even started practicing two of my skills.”
These words made Belial’s grip tighten abruptly on the Ultimate Battle Device.
“Die!”
He lunged at Jojo with a vicious overhead strike, his eyes blazing black and red with fury.
Jojo instantly teleported to another spot.
Belial, incensed, spun around and unleashed another massive energy blade from the Ultimate Battle Device!
As the gigantic blade hurtled toward him, Jojo didn’t dodge this time. Light energy burst within him, and his entire Ultra form rapidly expanded!
Ultra Doubling!
His height soared to one hundred and twenty meters, and his basic physical attributes doubled as well.
Gathering slicing energy in his palm, he cleaved upward and shattered the energy blade in a single strike!
“What!?” Belial’s face twisted in shock at the sight, and a memory from the past flashed in his mind.
Back when they fought the Alien Empera, Kain had also suddenly had such a tremendous surge in power.
“Damn you! Die!”
Jealousy contorted Belial’s features into a snarl as he thrust the Ultimate Battle Device into the ground, quickly gathering dark energy between his claws.
Crossing his claws, crimson-black energy beams erupted forth!
Deisium Beam!
The black-red beam was wreathed in countless lightning bolts!
Jojo met the attack with clenched fists, blocking and simultaneously absorbing it, converting the energy into a glowing orb.
“Belial, how did you know I was planning to practice this skill too?”
As he spoke, Jojo activated his Ray Conversion, the energy he absorbed swelling rapidly.
Belial noticed the growing energy orb and heard Jojo’s words, immediately sensing something was wrong!
But instead of stopping, he increased the beam’s output even further.
Damn it! Absorb away! Let’s see how much you can take!
Of course, Jojo wouldn’t just absorb without counterattacking. Sensing Belial’s intention, he immediately hurled the amassed energy orb from his arm!
The massive orb surged against the Deisium Beam, pushing it back toward Belial, whose expression turned to horror!
He grabbed the Ultimate Battle Device.
Boom!
A terrifying explosion erupted. Even with the device to shield him, Belial was blasted backward by the force!
“Arghhhhhhh!”
He howled in pain, clearly still unwilling to admit defeat.
Jojo had no intention of letting Belial off the hook either. It was rare to find such a challenging opponent, and he still had many techniques he wanted to try.
However, as the training session concluded and Belial landed heavily, his body suddenly vanished.
“Huh? Is it over already?”
Only now did Jojo realize, caught up in the heat of battle, he had inadvertently managed to master all the skills he intended to learn.
The Land of Light, in the Leo Universe.
Inside the Cosmic Prison.
“I’ll kill you!”
Belial’s bloodshot eyes flared as he instinctively bellowed curses.
But then he discovered that he couldn’t move at all. The familiar surroundings came into view, making his expression freeze.
“The Cosmic Prison?!”
He stared at the familiar cell, struggling with all his might, but a sealing force bound him, rendering him incapable of any action.
“Damn it! King of Ultra! This damned seal again!”
Belial cursed furiously, but no one responded.
After a while, perhaps accepting that he wasn’t getting out, he finally quieted down and lapsed into thought.
“Was I dreaming just now? No! That brat knew too much—there’s no way it was a dream!”
Just thinking of Jojo made Belial grit his teeth in rage.
Remembering that his opponent was an Ultraman of the Land of Light, he began shouting at the top of his lungs, “Kain! Get over here, you bastard! Kain!”
But with both his body and energy sealed, his voice couldn’t escape the Cosmic Prison.
After a while, seeing no reaction, he realized this and began yelling at the guards outside. “You two useless idiots! Go and get Kain over here for me!”
Outside the prison entrance, two guards with long spears exchanged glances, unsure what to do.
Belial’s tirade rang out again. “Damn you fools! Use an Ultra telepathic message and call Kain over here for me!”
“Belial, don’t get too full of yourself!” One of the guards, frustrated, shouted a retort into the prison.
“Worthless,” Belial sneered with complete contempt.
The other guard grabbed his companion, urging, “Let it go, let it go. He’s just trying to provoke us again.”
Belial had pulled this trick before; the guards knew it well.
An Ultra telepathic message was sent.
Not long after, the Father of Ultra, his cape billowing behind him, rushed over at top speed.
Belial had actually requested his presence—such a surprise made the Father of Ultra secretly hope his old friend had finally come to his senses.
Arriving at the entrance, the Father of Ultra looked at the two guards with gentle gratitude. “Thank you both for watching over Belial.”
“Of course, Captain!” they replied in unison, saluting with deep respect.
He nodded at them and hurried inside.
Deep within the Cosmic Prison, he looked up at Belial’s head protruding from the wall.
His voice was filled with delight. “Belial, have you finally come around?”
The Big-Horned Bull had always hoped Belial would regain his Ultra heart.
“Keep dreaming, Kain!” Belial replied, thoroughly disgruntled.
Hearing this, the Father of Ultra’s expression fell.
Then Belial continued, “Bring me the Ultra who is both light and darkness! Get him over here now!”
“Huh?” The Father of Ultra looked completely bewildered.
