Chapter 57: Leo: I Am Gradually Understanding Everything!
"I was just giving you a demonstration."
Seeing Leo's frightened expression, Jojo dispersed the Eightfold Light Ring in his hand.
Perhaps because the Eightfold Light Ring had come so close to his neck just moments earlier, Leo had now calmed down. Rising from the ground, he recalled their recent battle, a look of hesitation flickering across his face. "Isn't gouging someone's eyes a bit too underhanded?"
"Is protecting Earth more important, or is the method you use more important?" Jojo retorted with a question of his own.
Leo was rendered speechless by this. He couldn't find an answer.
Jojo's tone grew stern. "Your battles must be won. If you lose, the monsters certainly won't show you mercy."
"If the Twin Monsters are allowed to rampage across Black Tide Island and the Magma Aliens capture Hyakuji and endlessly torment her, could you accept that outcome?"
"I absolutely cannot!" Leo's fists clenched again as he thought of his younger brother. "I will never let that happen again!"
Jojo placed a reassuring hand on Leo's shoulder, his voice tinged with satisfaction. "In that case, do whatever it takes to win!"
"Let me show you—there are many ways to defeat monsters."
With that, Jojo began instructing Leo in various combat tactics.
For example, shrinking his body to enter a monster's belly, then unleashing a burst of energy in giant form to make the monster explode from within.
Carrying lime powder to scatter in the face of aliens using Ripple energy, blinding them.
Delivering a bewildering Ultra Slap, combining it with the Eightfold Light Ring in the other hand.
Leo's Ultra Bracelet could transform into various weapons and utility tools—becoming a rope to bind monsters, a black cloth to cover them, and so forth.
In short, regardless of how underhanded the method, as long as it defeated the enemy, it was acceptable.
At this point, Leo hadn't yet obtained the Royal Cape—otherwise, that would have been truly invaluable.
After an in-depth discussion, Jojo engaged Leo in practical drills. Only when Leo's fighting style was no longer restricted by moral boundaries did Jojo finally stop.
"I've taught you everything I can. The rest is up to you."
As Jojo spoke, something else occurred to him. He cast his mind back, recalling the enemies Leo would encounter.
Leo felt he had gained a great deal, and looked at Jojo with gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you! I never realized there were so many ways to fight!"
During their sparring, Leo had used both Ripple and energy beams, and the experience exhilarated him like never before.
"Here is intelligence on those aliens." Jojo condensed a ball of luminous energy and pressed it into Leo's chest.
With this, Leo would know which enemies would appear, what situations he would face, and could alter the course of tragic events.
Having finished, Jojo stepped aside to begin practicing the skills he had selected for himself. He had been instructing Leo all this time and hadn't had a moment to train.
The Ultra Clone Technique allowed him to divide his body into several, dealing with multiple enemies at once.
The Rescue Beam could use a ribbon of light to save humans, or bind and restrain monsters.
Telepathy enabled him to communicate with specific individuals across vast distances—even light-years away—even while in human form.
The Stacked Ray Storm, formed by his hands in an L-shape, was a super beam capable of erasing enemies at the molecular level.
This final Stacked Ray Storm, given Jojo's current energy reserves, would leave him in the red-light state after a single use.
These four skills were not difficult for him to master.
By this time, Leo had absorbed all the information and once again felt the depth of Jojo’s help.
This intelligence was simply invaluable!
He never imagined that Astra had survived—what wonderful news!
When Planet L77 exploded, Leo hadn't been able to save Astra and had believed his brother was lost.
Now, learning Astra was still alive, Leo was overwhelmed with emotion.
But those Magma Aliens—how could they have enslaved Astra? It was unforgivable!
Planet D60 had also been invaded; he wondered how Regulos was faring.
Fortunately, Astra had now been rescued by the King of Ultra.
Leo longed to visit Regulos, but he couldn't leave Earth at the moment.
He would have to wait for the King of Ultra or the Ultra Brothers to come, then ask them to help Planet D60.
With foreknowledge, Leo could now prevent many tragedies from ever happening!
But why was the captain’s injury never healed, no matter what?
He dismissed the thought—surely the captain wouldn't lie.
As these thoughts ran through his mind, Leo seemed to sense something. Feeling that his farewell was near, he looked at Jojo.
"Jojo, will we ever meet again?"
The two of them did not belong to the same universe—after this parting, who knew if they would ever cross paths again.
Thinking this, Leo's face grew sorrowful. "You've helped me so much—I truly don't know how to thank you."
"Why so sentimental?" Jojo slapped Leo on the shoulder, teasing, "If you really want to thank me, does that mean you plan to let me have Hyakuji?"
Leo’s face darkened. "No, I think it would be best if we never meet again!"
"Just kidding, just kidding—hahaha." Jojo laughed heartily.
The somber mood of parting dissipated, but Leo still looked uneasy. "Really? Don't even think about Hyakuji!"
"Really, I absolutely won't lie to you," Jojo assured him. Then, using telepathy, he added, "I hate to dampen your spirits, but I need to remind you: humans have limited lifespans. If you care about her, be prepared—don't lose someone important again."
"The Ultra's Heart and Body as One is a truly miraculous ability; it can allow a human to evolve."
As Jojo finished speaking, his training was complete, and Leo's figure faded from view.
Jojo's final words were meant to remind Leo to prepare a way, or else one day he would lose Hyakuji all the same.
Of course, if they chose to let their feelings remain in memory, untainted by anything else, that was their decision.
The power of love is infinite, after all.
Still, Jojo believed everything could be handled even better, so he offered Leo a suggestion.
Meanwhile, on Black Tide Island.
The sky was a mass of oppressive clouds. Amidst lightning and thunder, two monsters were raising tsunamis along the coast!
These were the Twin Monsters, controlled by the Magma Aliens to wreak havoc. Their goal: to force Leo to reveal himself!
The surging sea flooded Black Tide Island, swallowing and destroying every house and building in its path.
Feng Yuan snapped out of his daze, a flood of memories rushing into his mind—he remembered everything Jojo had taught, though his body had yet to master it.
"Jojo..."
As he muttered, the Twin Monsters suddenly let out a deafening roar.
"Raaaargh!"
At that sound, Feng Yuan immediately looked into the distance to see the twin monsters—one black, one red—raising another tsunami to engulf Black Tide Island.
"Damn it! Those two beasts!"
