The purpose of Gaern Q appearing before XIG was to absorb missiles, using their fuel as a source of energy for its actions.

I Dream looked at Gaern Q, explaining further, “I think this monster may have used metal as an adhesive to fuse the rocks on its body together!”

“Understood.” Ti Cheng, reassured by I Dream’s answer, immediately issued the order: “Lightning Team, move out at once!”
The bottom hatch of the Peacecraft opened, dropping three box-shaped devices. Once released, they unfolded and transformed into three fighter jets.
Kajio’s voice sounded over the squad channel: “All units, attack!”
Knowing that Gaern Q could absorb missiles, they had already switched to laser mode.
The three jets launched their assault in unison!
Orange, bullet-like energy beams shot out, sweeping across the metallic adhesive on Gaern Q’s body!
Sparks flew as the metallic adhesive was damaged by the laser beams, causing Gaern Q to stagger.
The three Lightning Team jets flew past, but the Peacecraft was slower.
Gaern Q raised its eyeball head, and its absorption beam turned into a pillar of light!
The purple ray struck the Peacecraft, instantly sending the entire craft out of control.
Kajio and the others circled back in their jets, firing their lasers at Gaern Q once more.
The concentrated beams struck Gaern Q’s head, sending up showers of sparks, yet the monster withstood it by sheer force, determined to absorb the Peacecraft.
Seeing Ti Cheng in danger, I Dream immediately shut off his communicator and drew out the Blue Jewel Prism. “I will not be afraid anymore! There’s no reason for me to fear you!”
“Gaia!!!”
As he raised the Blue Jewel Prism with a shout, a burst of red and white light erupted!
To be fair, the battleground was not far from here, and the area was fairly open.
If Kajio and the others glanced this way, they would instantly see I Dream’s transformation.
Red and white streams of light shot skyward, coalescing into the silver-and-crimson giant!
Transformed, Gaia hovered in mid-air, his body glowing faintly.

Gaern Q burst out laughing again, its giant eye making ludicrous expressions. Suddenly, its pupil narrowed to a slit, and it unleashed another absorption beam!
The purple energy enveloped Gaia as he struggled.
Just then, a blue-white curtain of light appeared nearby, and Fujimiya was transported there by the Blue Jewel Bracelet.
Sensing the Aura of the Ocean Light, Gaia was immediately delighted: ‘Perfect! Fujimiya’s here to help me!’
But Fujimiya, meanwhile, quickly scanned his surroundings, ignoring Gaia completely. He was only searching for Qiao Zhe, but did not see any trace of him.
