Chapter 150: The 'Call' You Have Dialed Is Unanswered
Deep in the night, while JOJO was examining his second cheat, Gamu and Fujimiya found themselves unable to fall asleep.
Mainly because after acquiring their stands, the two of them began pondering the abilities of these new entities.
Fujimiya's stand was relatively straightforward—a simple and brutal healing ability, exactly as Qiao Zhe had described. He could develop some self-harming forbidden techniques, knowing that as long as his stand touched his body, he would recover instantly. It was somewhat similar to Crazy Diamond, though Fujimiya's stand could heal himself. The name of his stand was Ocean Light, fitting the naming convention of the Ultraman universe.
Gamu's stand was Earth Light, and he was currently engrossed in studying the principles of gravity. The moment he realized his stand's ability was manipulation of gravity, it immediately occurred to him that this might be used to crack the wormhole of the Radical Destruction Bringer!
Within hyperspace, JOJO finished reviewing the effects of his second cheat, and a multitude of ideas instantly sparked in his mind. Compared to the Arrow from the first cheat, the second cheat offered a much wider range of operations.
This bond-type cheat had two primary functions.
The first function was that when JOJO faced a life-threatening crisis, the Ultraman he knew would perceive it, and across universes, lend their power to him, thereby giving birth to a new form. Similarly, when an Ultraman known to JOJO encountered a life-or-death crisis, he could also sense it and choose whether or not to lend his power to the other party. This lending of power was a matter of free choice, and both sides had the right to refuse. However, as far as Ultras were concerned, when one was in trouble, help came from all sides; very few Ultras would refuse to lend their strength. It was essentially summoning reinforcements via Ultraman.
Yet a problem arose. JOJO possessed the stand Gold Experience Requiem. Under normal circumstances, he could dodge most attacks, and as for the attacks he couldn't dodge... if you couldn't dodge something traveling faster than light, who else could possibly react in time? Of course, this was passive; it could also be used actively. JOJO could proactively contact other Ultras, though others could not initiate contact with him, as this was his cheat after all.
The Ultras JOJO currently knew—those they had met in person or learned of through other Ultras—already numbered quite a few. Unfortunately, when he tried using this function to contact the old divine charlatan, no response ever came back. Simply put, it was a call with no answer. He had no idea what Noah was up to at the moment; perhaps the being had turned into a stone statue once again.
As for the second method, it was identical to the Bond of Light. He could split off about 10% of his power and then find a suitable Dunamist to choke out. Through tempering, this 10% of power would evolve into various brand-new forms, and simultaneously, the Dunamist would also undergo evolution.
When JOJO saw this effect, his own team immediately came to mind. He only needed to split off 10% of his power, and since he could recover using Hamon, this essentially meant zero loss. Once this power was recalled, JOJO would have acquired a brand-new form, while the Dunamist would have evolved as well—a win-win situation for both parties.
After a brief moment of thought, JOJO already had his first target in mind.
Gazing back at the panel, as the second cheat activated, the third cheat had successfully unlocked.
[Cheat 3: Child of Earth (Status: Inactive)]
Just as he had anticipated beforehand, the panel generated corresponding cheats based on the worlds he had traveled through.
With a flick of his thought, he closed the panel.
His gaze shifted to the training ground portal. Come to think of it, he hadn't researched any new skills in a while; it was about time to develop some new moves.
Early the next morning.
After Qiao Zhe dropped off Risa Nanase at school, Gamu's video communication call came through.
The communicator in his pocket beeped rhythmically. Flipping it open, Gamu's dark-circled face appeared on the small screen.
"JOJO! I've got a way to launch a proactive attack against the Radical Destruction Bringer!"
Despite bearing two heavy dark circles under his eyes, Gamu was brimming with excitement. After watching the footage, he knew that as long as Gaia and Agul crossed their beams at each other, they could open a wormhole. However, there was a barrier across the wormhole itself, which was the key obstacle hindering a counteroffensive. But now, with a stand and the ability to control gravity, this issue could be resolved.
"I'm coming over to find you now," Qiao Zhe said, hanging up the communication and directly summoning a luminous portal for travel.
Shortly after, Fujimiya received the message as well.
Once the three of them gathered, they meticulously discussed the detailed plan and decided to deal a massive blow to the Radical Destruction Bringer first.
The Blue Bracelet materialized on Fujimiya's wrist. He raised his head, his gaze seeming to pierce directly through the Earth's exosphere: "I've been sick of these bastards for a long time!"
The Blue Bracelet spread its wings, spinning in a circle as brilliant blue light burst forth. Unable to wait any longer, Fujimiya transformed first, turning into a streak of light that shot straight toward outer space. The Radical Destruction Bringer had inflicted considerable psychological trauma on him previously, and now he finally had the chance to settle the score proactively.
So you're the one they call the Radical Destruction Bringer, huh!
Seeing Fujimiya's eager demeanor, Qiao Zhe summoned his own transformation device to his wrist, then transformed into a silvery-white light and soared away.
The two of them transformed with astonishing speed. Gamu was still fumbling for his Blue Spark. By the time he finally pulled out his transformation device, Qiao Zhe and Fujimiya were already long gone.
"Wait for me!"
Too rushed to shout out for Gaia, Gamu hoisted the Blue Spark high and hurried to transform. His entire body transformed into a red light, shooting straight up into the sky to chase after JOJO and Agul.
Since they were going to open a wormhole, they certainly couldn't do it on Earth.
The three streaks of light flew all the way out of Earth, heading straight toward Mars.
This operation made no attempt at concealment, and XIG immediately detected the anomaly.
Inside the Command Room.
The automatic radar alarm prompted Shido and the others to investigate what was happening.
"What is it this time?" Chiba approached the main screen, thoroughly accustomed by now to the incursions of the Radical Destruction Bringer.
Atsuko turned around and reported, "It's not a monster invasion; it's an Ultraman energy signature."
"Ultraman?" Tsutsumi frowned in confusion.
Satellite imagery was transmitted to the main screen, and Atsuko continued her report: "This is satellite footage. Three streaks of light have flown out of Earth, heading toward Mars."
Seeing this, Tsutsumi understood immediately and instinctively used his communicator to contact Gamu, only to receive no response as expected.
His gaze involuntarily drifted toward Shido, and Chiba was looking at Shido as well.
Shido: "..."
Why are you both looking at me? How am I supposed to know what they're up to?
Facing their questioning gazes, Shido maintained a deadpan expression: "Let's wait and see for now."
Once the three streaks of light flew past Mars, the satellites could no longer track their specific activities.
Meanwhile, on Mars.
Agul transformed into a blue sphere of light, crashing heavily onto the ground and blasting out a massive crater.
Billowing smoke and dust filled the air as the blue giant stood up, striking his signature arrogant pose.
JOJO didn't bother with any flashy entrances this time. Landing beside Agul, he gave a casual wave of his hand, blowing away the surrounding dust and smoke.
However, just as he finished straightening up, Gaia executed a clumsy, butt-first landing, instantly churning up countless mounds of dirt.
Dozens of meters worth of flying soil rained down over the bodies of JOJO and Agul.
Both Ultras immediately fixed their gazes upon Gaia.
JOJO's voice was calm as he stated, "I suddenly feel like we should let you practice fighting two opponents at once first."
"I'd be more than happy to help," Agul chimed in, looking eager to try.
Under their intense stares, Gaia snapped back to reality and hurriedly changed the subject: "Let's put training aside for now, we have more important business to attend to!"
If he actually had to fight these two monsters, wouldn't he just be taking a pure, unadulterated beating?
